- The Lost Starfighter is a Star Wars fan film from Nick Murphy, Paul Ritchey, and Samuel Hall. It chronicles the misadventures of Blue Squadron as they complete their last day of training. One of Blue Two's pranks sends Blue Five to the wrong coordinates and into enemy territory.
The Lost Starfighter took almost two years to make from script to postproduction. Actors in full costumes were filmed against green-screen and backgrounds were created and composited using Cinema 4D and Nuke. A full-sized Rodian puppet was created and operated by Monkey Boys Productions (SNL, The Tonight Show, Ben In The Desert), filmed against red-screen, and voiced by Mick Lauer (RicePirateMick). The score was composed by Jared Forman (Star Wars Rebels, Making a Murderer). The Lost Starfighter was directed and written by Nick Murphy & Paul Ritchey from the CZcams series, Continue?, in collaboration with one-man-VFX-guru, Samuel Hall.

So *that's* why Annie Vader treats his officers like he does...
Well considering Becuase of his "Prank", 5 people died almost including himself. Then also counting the fucking Star Destroyer that could have destroyed the entire rebel fleet if they jumped back to home. So yeah, at the very least have him kicked from the rebellion. Also everyone is apparently cold hearted as their own fucking teamates died right before them and just laughed it off.
After the court Martial. Gotta do things by the book when you're the good guy.

The visual effects were really good. It had a good feel of the original trilogy. The humor wasn't my cup of tea, but I am glad that the fan films are not dead. Always wanted to do one myself, but... Never got there. Glad others are still at it and follow through!

I didn't mind the offbeat humor since these have to be short. I'm probably the pickiest nitpicking Star Wars fan out there, and I am blown away by the special effects. A lot of the times you couldn't tell what was CGI and what was a physical set, easily done as well as the films! The only thing I can find as a criticism was the laser blasts seemed a little too short, they usually longer streaks. That's it. In a fan film, for the special effects to stand up to a multimillion-dollar major motion picture, I can't find any other errors or things to criticize! I loved the variety of droids and paying attention to things like you need one to make a hyperspace jump that many fans may not know, just really well done. A good cute short story with special effects that equal or surpassed the movies. Great job!

Everything but the story/plot was good. Can't judge the acting so much as I'm sure they could of been alright with a decent script.
But the acting must be somewhat like.. forgotten that they're acting and just feel really immersed in the film

I've got to say, it's great to see it proven that you can have an exciting, quality CGI space battle that ISN'T overwhelmingly "busy," visually-too many these days just seem like someone taking a fistful of shredded aluminum and waving it around in the viewer's face with one hand, while grabbing them by the hair and giving a vigorous shake with the other.

The dialogue was a bit cheezy, but that seems to have been the desired result. HOWEVER, it does not take away from the fact that that was the most impressive fan film i have ever seen! VFX were stunning, the cinematography was outstanding, the costumes and props were legit star wars! you guys could start an entire youtube channel based on BTS, VFX breakdowns, and tutorials for this short. BRAVO! Additionally, The screen time was perfect for this type of thing. The story was clear, concise, and fun. My only issue is... THIS IS YOUR ONLY FILM! Keep it up!
118B Films honestly, the cinematography was lacking. The visual effects do look really good, but lacked the feeling that real cameras would’ve framed the shots. The virtual camera composition was hard to follow in the emptiness of space, I had no context for where fighters and enemy craft were especially when it mattered in specific dogfight shots. The editing is the only thing that made it sorta work to help us not get lost.

Autismos I've taken multiple filmmaking summer camps and spring break coarses. If you can't tell that this acting is cheesy I don't know what to tell you. And what do you know of good acting? You're entire argument is assumption after assumption, no straight up facts. Any critic would tell you this is cringy acting. Hell, this material makes the prequels look like well acted masterpieces! Make a better written defence and maybe I'll see your point. But until then you'll just seem like someone who uses petty insults and heavy assumptions to prove a trivial point.

It´s really great, but the characters were incredibly annoying ¿How he can be a rebel pilot and not know what part of the star destroyer its the shield generator? Besides, a mate of the just died and they lauph about it? If you work a bit more on the characters for the next one, it will be even more incredible

Being a veteran, I know a bit about camaraderie. This video was an insult to my intelligence and former trade. The only good this video exemplifies is why we do training in the first place. We do it to weed out any potential fighter pilots, vehicle drivers, HW ops, etc. who would behave like this from EVER entering ANY hard civil service. The creators here truly fell flat with me.
This wouldn’t be offensive to anybody and it’s obvious not saying someone would be that stupid and do a prank like that, the character was written to be dumb obviously, I was very annoyed reading this comment, calm down. So sensitive.

ThePugLord CZcams is one of the most widely used distribution channels by independent filmmakers. There are filmmakers who make a living off of CZcams films. Claiming something that was put out on the most widely used video platform in the world is good for being “Only a CZcams project” doesn’t make sense. The world can now watch it, and you always want to bring your A game.
I meant that they have to make the video off their own budget from other YT videos unlike the "professional" short-film developers who get a decently sized set budget.

Adrian SH Lol if you think this is better than the last Jedi Idk what to say.. honestly first time I watched the last Jedi I had a lot of issues, comedy made me cringe and it just felt all over the place. Second viewing tho I didn't really mind the comedy that much, didn't make me laugh but I didn't hate it so much. Still don't like the canto bite crap Finn and rose sucked but other than that it really wasn't that bad. Disappointed with some things but overall enjoyed it.
Second viewing third viewing makes it better etc. I call bullshit. It has still the same problems. Just by watching a movie more than once does not make it better or worse
Adrian SH No not bullshit for me.. it's called an opinion. I still have issues with it but I was able to enjoy it more. When I watch a star wars movie for the first time I have a super anxious feeling that it won't be good or that I'll be disappointed. Second viewing for me I'm more relaxed and I'm able to enjoy things more and look past some petty things that bothered me. I still don't like canto bite and Finn rose plot. I still don't like all the comedy but on the second viewing it didn't bother me as much. First viewing I hated Superman Leia but second time it didn't bother me as much, I still hate the cop out death and I think she should've been the one to do lightspeed crash but I didn't think it was as weird as the first viewing. I still don't like the political messages like feminism and poking at the rich 1%( which is ironic coming from fucking Disney) honestly other than a view things I do enjoy the film. Yes I acknowledge it's flaws, Finn rose story, bad comedy, pacing and tone, political and social messages. I can look past some of those and still enjoy the movie. Same way I still enjoy the prequels. Believe me I'm surprised that I enjoyed it, the first viewing I guess I was so anxious that every little thing made me feel a bit disappointed but the second time I was more relaxed and I seemed to enjoy it a lot more. But hey it's just my opinion, ya don't got to agree.
I hated Return of the Jedi the first time I saw it. It's gotten better on repeat viewings. Phantom menace did not get better, but I did appreciate the creature designs and background designs much more. I really liked Attack of the Clones first time around, but now the love story seems so much more awful, and while I thought monkey saber Yoda was great the first time around, it seems awful and almost like they jumped the shark. Then watching the original Star Wars....it's really just a popcorn scifi action comedy. Force Awakens and The Last Jedi had so much more going on. Everything with Luke, Snoke, Rey etc was good, but holy hell the slowest paced chase scene ever and Finn's detour that all amounted to jack and shit....that was just...ugh. The script reads like a parody that subverts every trope for the sake of it. It was like he submitted the script as an act of rebellion. I have no idea how Disney let it get produced. Instead of an epic dramatic entry in our saga....we get a movie that purposely says FUCK OFF to everything we thought about star wars and the trope about a rag tag group ignoring the leaders and their wacky plan somehow coming together and saving the day
Bad Pilots has a funny script, good acting and great special effects. This has good special effects and nothing else.

Absolutely awesome cgi acting was really good but scriptwise the pranking went on too long.
It should have been first part only. He pranks her she jumps to wrong coordinates and retrieves a destroyer from that point on it should have been serious business. The prank got out of control and they need to fix it. The ending would result in the destruction of the destroyer. After all is done the squadron leader pranks the pranker back by hacking into his xwing and sending him of to some coordinates in space only to find that were he arrives it looks like completely wide open space around him.
He mentions that he is in the middle of nowhere and his droid goes wild.
Then he turns his X wing in a rol to find that there is a juggernaut below him. ;) end credits
