I'm glad that the porch is done at least half satisfactorily. I agree with you, it sounds like he has something else happening in his life that caused this to happen.

You're probably right since you had good luck with him last year, this year he probably had more jobs lined up and just wasn't doing well at estimating the time it was going to take him to complete them and so things started to fall apart. Because of your big heart and knowing he is trying to build his business (and his management skills ) I would almost bet money that you would be willing to hire him again for a small job.... but I bet Jim would be a big no on that . Have you heard how Doug's surgery went and how long he will have to stay in the hospital?
Are you and your family doing your annual Lexington vacation? I remember you saying the price of the rental really went up. My husband and I did a day trip there last year. We are about an hour further than you are. It was beautiful!
