Macy Thanksgiving Day Parade 1993

We went to New York City to see the Macy Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1993. It was the debut of Sonic the Hedgehog, who hooked onto a lamp post and tore, was removed by ambulance. Other balloons got ripped and deflated as well.

I was there 20 years later. lol. I was 4 1/2 during this parade and it's one of the first ones I kind of remember. Poor Sonic at 15:50. There's footage floating around of the Cat in the Hat balloon getting caught in the lamppost in 1997. And there is a video on CZcams of the crew popping Barney that year as well. I remember that, how windy it was.

they have pre taped footage of each balloon in case something happens during the actual parade before it arrives in front of Macy's. They showed it for Sonic and the Cheese-a-saurus Rex balloon during the 1993 parade. It was quite windy out that year. Poor Sonic lol.
