I definitely needed to watch this video. Thank you for all that you do for the candle community 😊
You’re welcome and thank you so much for watching the videos. 😊
One day my wife called me at work and told me that" we had one dollar left in the bank!"....It was a low point for me . When I got home the wife showed me an old box of candles . I drew up a sign and we went on the side of hwy 190 . We sold the candles in 45 minutes and made 79 dollars. A good bit of money when you're broke, busted and discussed.... My wife started watching Candle CZcams channels like (Stanley Handcrafted) .....We started making our own candles and selling them on side the road....One month we did make a 1000 dollars just like you said could be done!.....We want to go online but not there yet. We have our ups and downs .Your Candle business is gonna take off brother! The sun doesn't shine on the same dogs butt all the time..... It's gonna get better friend . Just hang in there! And thanx 4 your vids they are very helpful!.........Psalms 91
That’s incredible and a huge congratulations!!
Love hearing that and keep kicking ass!
Thanx Brother....We appreciate you!
Enjoyed watching.
You have been so helpful I’m glad to see you back
Thank you so much!
@@StandleyHandcrafted thank you. I started making candles and they have helped bring some traction for my business
Thanks for your transparency. I had to let my employee go for right now I’m doing it alone it’s extremely exhausting.
Wow that’s too bad. Hopefully business comes back strong so you can hire again.
@@StandleyHandcrafted Thanks it is I have implemented a few tips from yourself and a few others. And sales are up this month made 2 times more this month.
I'm truly impressed with your transparency and being honest with us about the struggles you're experiencing. It makes it more believable when we know the Chandler guru's struggle just as much, maybe even more so than us newbies. When I watch videos of Chandler's and everything is going really well, it makes you wonder how much of it is actually true. I wish you well with your boutique and hopefully things turn around. Especially with Christmas coming.
Thank you I’m glad it helps.
Anything I can do to help show others what to look out for and heck, people end up helping me too with things I never think of.
@@StandleyHandcrafted are you in the boutique group SSS? This group is super helpful for boutique owners!!
@@rawndresser165 I’m not, I’ll have to look it up and join. Thank you.
I opened in March, very happy im covering my expenses & putting back into new products. Be patient. It takes time.
It takes an average of 3 to 5 years to turn a profit for a new business, which is what the boutique is. Like you said, you do have the advantage of the supply side to support it. Just keep going. Posters in your local towns advertising your Christmas range will probably bring some more footfall.
New subbie here! Thank you for being transparent with your business challenges. You're appreciated!
Thank you for the sub!
Try offering mini candle-making classes if you have space. You make $$ offering classes, you get customers buying from the boutique when at class, and extra advertisement. Offering classes/events is great for local and social media visibility to build your customer base. Worked great for us. (Make your social media radius larger than 5-10 miles also)
Candle classes are great, I’ve been doing those for years now.
We have the space to do them in shop now and already have them in motion. 😁
The advertising is definitely something I’m working on now. Expanding to other platforms and also different audiences for testing.
I wish my shop was bringing in money everyday.
Hi Standley, I'm a new subscriber.😊 I really enjoy your videos. I'm also new to learning about candle making. That's why I watch your videos to get as much information I can. I want to test my candles with the M12 ultimate wax, but when I went on the website I see the 11lb and the 33lb is sold out. Can you tell me when will it be available again? I also want to use wooden wicks to do my testing, can you please help me with the sizing of them. I'm doing testing in 4oz tins with fragrance oils from candlescience and my dye blocks are from hearth and harbor on Amazon. Thank you again for all the help.😊
❤
It’s still just me in my store..employees are expensive
Hi Jeff, you probably do have a good online presence, but how’s your SEO? That’s pretty important for a local business. Most businesses unfortunately need a few years before you’re really making a profit. I’ve owned a local business in Oregon for the past 6.5 years and it took a year before I was making a profit.
I love candles!!! But I see you are always out of stock on your website. Are there certain days you stock them? Also I see you are selling the 8 oz jelly jar for $18 and I see other candle businesses selling them for $5. Just wondering why so expensive.
Sorry about that, the candles have definitely taken a back seat to the supply business that opened up last year. I have been trying to get them posted more frequently now.
As for the price, the $18 - $25 range that's a bout normal for this size candle. If someone is selling a candle at $5 they are seriously undercutting themselves. I honestly wonder how they are making them and selling for that cheap. With the cost of supplies they're making pennies if anything at all.
@@StandleyHandcrafted ok. I just thought $18 to $25 is just a lot for one candle. I might need to go check out your supply business. Thanks for the information!!! W Video
How have the ads been doing for you I’m thinking about doing that
Not too bad locally. I made the target range pretty wide, pretty much all women between the ages of 24-44 and no other factors.
It’s been viewed or has 100,000 impressions which is great.
@@StandleyHandcrafted I might try that
What happened to M12 testing part 2? I still got ants in my pants on how it turned out!
I’ll post it this week. I love it!
hi Jeff, did I just mishear you? do you have a candle supply store in Australia? If so, can i know the name of this candle place please?
I partnered with Luxury Candle Supplies who are based in Australia. They’re located there and I’m based in the US.
@@StandleyHandcrafted thanks!! I'll check them out☺
