This reminds me of something else. The show Columbo is extremely popular in Romania. Since the show was over, they only had reruns but the public wasn't fully aware and were demanding new episodes. The Romanian government was afraid to tell them the show ended because they knew they would riot. So they brought over the actor to break the news. It went rather well.
Fun fact, there’s a fan theory Caulkin actually supports that Kevin grew up to become Jigsaw from the Saw franchise.

I remember when John Candy died, I was in my early teens at the time. He was the first celebrity death, I felt sad about, and Robin Williams was the first celebrity death I actually cried over; RIP to both legends.
I will always hold Home Alone as one of my favourite Christmas movies, and my delightful reason for loving slapstick comedy so much. Just don't talk about anything past the third movie. The first 3 films, in my opinion, are the only good ones of the series as of right now, whilst anything afterwards are just cheap imitations.

I love everything about this movie. My favorite quotes are "when I grow up and get married, I'm living alone!" "I'm eating junk and watching rubbish!" And "Buzz, your girlfriend. WOOF!"
On that last one, you can also hear the picture break when he tosses it. XD
I am the main char's age and this made me excited for when I would able to be in the house all by myself (which didn't happen until I was 13, so I had to wait 5 years lol). I actually got giddy back in 2011 when I had a layover in Chicago and recognized that area where the family ran through, it is the International Flights area because I was getting ready to fly to Turkey for a study abroad trip. You bet your boots I took a picture of it. My big assignment trip was to make a photo essay (3 options, but this was my pick because less writing was needed lol) so I always had my camera on stand by. End up taking over 800 photos and I think I got photography burn out from it lol. I had to go through every single photo to decide which ones would go into the photo essay.
It bothers me that Bruce Willis said Die Hard isn’t a Christmas movie, It will always be a Christmas movie. It takes place during Christmas time, there are references to Christmas throughout and the credits roll with “let it snow” it is a Christmas movie and no one not even the star will convince me otherwise

Kieran was actually the one who played Macaulay's cousin in Home Alone and Home Alone 2.
Rory however was in other movies like Signs with Mel Gibson, Scream 4 and Lords of Chaos

Well acting is a family business. Also not gonna lie I prefer Kieran over Macaulay acting wise.

This is my favorite Christmas movie. It's mainly nostalgia, and a love for cartoony violence, but it's just a great film to sit back and watch

Oh I want to add something, I come from a HUGE family and yes I am counting extended. It is a madhouse when we get together, BUT none us ever treated each other they way Kevin and his family treated each other. My brothers never made me feel worthless either. So yeah, I do judge the family in this movie. They were better in the sequel, I'll admit that.

I am in the "Die Hard is a Christmas movie" camp. It not only takes place on Christmas, but many of the plot points wouldn't happen if it wasn't Christmas, such as the party and reduced people in the building.
I do think that we could bring up Lethal Weapon and discuss if that's a Christmas movie though. That should be the debate movie, not Die Hard.

Not gonna lie, I wish the "Home Alone" movies had taken a different direction. Either have the home alone premise be about Kevin having the house to himself when he's a teen/in college. Or just hhave the films be about Kevin's new adventures (but with different titles). We could've seen Kevin continue his friendship with Marley. Even have Kevin get with Marley's granddaughter in the future (according to the wiki, her name's "Madison").
