  • In this episode, Tony journeys back to 776 BC to witness the birth of the ancient Olympic Games, held in honor of the Greek god Zeus. He uncovers why the Roman Empire banned them and how the games reappeared in an English village thousands of years later. In World War II Tony discovers why a brawl involving 3000 men erupted with the arrival of U.S. soldiers on Australian soil, and what unique solution authorities devised to save a crucial alliance. Tony finds out how a courageous female swimmer in 1912 challenged the social taboo of mixed bathing to compete in Sweden. And a trip to the 1850s reveals the origins of the 8-hour working day and how it ties into one of the world's longest-running rivalries

Fascinating story and history lesson. Loved it 🤓. Moments like these make me wish we had a time portal to view these events with our own eyes. I'm so curious about life during other times.

Me too, bro. It would be so cool to have a time machine. I'm thinking like the Epoch from Chrono Tigger! Then I could bring along a few items for protection or to make my time in the past a heck of a lot easier! A couple boom sticks, Kevlar vest, boots, MREs, or just a simple lighter, just as a few quick examples. Also I see you're account over on UFC type channels (I think... right?). I know I seen you commenting on other channels. It was cool seeing you here, lol!

15:48 I've never seen this type of editing used. It's good but almost edging on comical 😄

It's interesting that Sir Tony got to revisit the town of Much Wenlock, as a dig there was one of the first done by Time Team.

Just wondering when a still huge number of women worldwide, including the First World, is going to get their 8 hours of recreation. So far, most of it is filled by mostly even more work that is not paid at all.

Because the current Olympics have nothing to do with the ancient accept for the name.
    It's kinda obvious.
If Romans kept Helsing game they would have been the Roman Catholic olympia Omnia or something like that. And since their form of Christianity it up tight and lame, you know how sports was banned for ages.

Sounds to me like ole Milo was murdered by some jealous Asshats who outsmarted him; then made a mockery of it by inventing saying outta it that is still around today.

Sounds like the champion fighter Milo was murdered and left out for the wolves to eat by sore losers tired of being beaten by him. 🤔
