- Toy Story Movie Reaction and Commentary
today we're watching Toy Story for the first time! I somehow missed this whole franchise when I was a kid so it was a perfect pick for this week's reaction. it wasn't the most captivating movie for me personally but I still had a lot of fun. hope you enjoy this reaction to Toy Story!
if you want me to react to the sequels as well, let me know in the comments xoxo

hey guys! any thoughts on Toy Story? which one is your favorite? :)
2, 3 and 4 made me cry, especially 3.
2 is definitely the best in my book 😁 - Stef
3 is the best
2
I was born in 1995 when the first toy story movie came.❤
The most unbelievable thing about this movie, aside from living toys, is a claw machine actually holding on to the toys long enough to land in the prize door.
No come the fact that does grab them at all is even more unrealistic😭
I will say that I did win at a claw machine, won a Dumbo plush.
@@lenmarfox2947 I’ve won twice but they are rigged to drop the prizes most times.
I've won rubber balls (minds out of the gutter) from a claw machine at a pizzeria.
When Woody said "I’m the one that should be strapped to that rocket," I honestly felt like that was suicide.
Yeah, and it’s so heartbreaking...
He was making a point that Andy was better off with Buzz.
@@iantaggart3064 he as a toy would have been absolutely abolished so essentially dead and he knew that. he felt andy would be better with buzz yes but he was also guilty
I love how you had absolutely no time for Woody's friends 😆 - Stef
They were so mean! 😂
@@SophieLents just to let you know, they get better in the later films.
@@SophieLents right they were so mean
@@SophieLents I love ur profile pic it's beautiful and ur so beautiful too 💗💖
I just realized something. When Sid left the door open, Woody thought they were free and wanted to bolt, the toys got in front of Woody and Buzz to stop them from leaving to protect them from the dog. Why didn't I notice the spider toy shaking his head no? Was I the only one?
tbh his toys were a lot more better in taking care of each other than andy's sadly they were treated badly
I loved this movie as a kid... but it also instilled in me a deep-seeded fear that all my toys were sentient and would conspire against me if I ever did anything that offended them. To this day I apologize to my funko pops if I knock them over. Y'know... just in case.
XD better safe than sorry. I always try to treat my toys with respect.
I fear more that they are judging me
Originally Sid's dad was going to be alcoholic. Hence the beer can. Nevertheless Pixar decided to make Toy Story a kids movie. Pixar's employees wanted to turn beer into root beer.
"You uncultured swine!" I use that phrase all the time, so funny.
One of my favorite jokes in the movie:
"T-O-Y. Toy."
"Excuse me, but I think the word you're searching for is 'Space Ranger'."
"The word I'm searching for I can't say, because there's preschool toys present."
They were originally supposed to have a GI Joe blown up, but Hasbro refused, saying they were upset with them blowing it up. The compromise they reached was that they could have Potato Head instead. Pixar agreed, and they made it a Combat Carl instead.
And Combat Carl appears in some of the sequels too! Voiced by Carl Weathers
In the Finnish dub, it was actually Action Man.
@Frogger you 🗿
Toy Story is one of those movies that on rewatching as an adult you realize that every toy, except those build by Sid, are kinda terrible haha.
Nice reaction! Really like your editing
Exactly! Andy’s toys are kinda awful 😂
Thank you so much!
@@SophieLents specially bo peep, only because one toy was cooler what a @&
I like Slink. He only turned his back to Woody when there was no choice
I don't think that's fair to say considering that the context that they got was that Woody knocked Buzz out the Window, Woody has been Jealous of Buzz so you can't really blame them for thinking that he was trying to kill him. Plus the only character(s) who didn't completely turn there backs on Woody was Slink and arguably Bo-peep
At least Sid got a respectable job in waste management. I mean that sincerely. My dad did county-wide waste management for a few years and so many people loved and respected him and his co-workers so much that they brought them gifts regularly. Needless to say, we ate well as a family at those times for sure. Not only that, he would bring home legitimately untarnished knick-knacks such as a fully functional record player/radio with a marvelous collection of vinyl works in the sleeves, a working classic Atari 2600 system with a bunch of games, 2 different and very unique traditionally made eastern parasols, and a bunch of other things I can't recall at the moment.
So, for all the BS that Sid had to go through as a troubled child and all of the chaos he caused (young and probably older in teen years), Waste Management is a major step up. Especially for the benefits that I described. How he got there, I don't know, but it is DEFINTITELY a measurable step up 😊
My favorite quote from the movie "The word I'm searching for, I can't say, because there are pre-school toys present."
I love how your cat sleeps, 24:21 supa cozy 😸
Idk why people are blaming the toys. If your friend killed someone, would you really still be their friend until they are proved inoccent?? I just don't get that logic personally. I damn well know none of y'all would be friends with someone who you think is a murderer, I think you're just bias cause Woody is the protagonist. And of course if I find out they are actually inoccent I'd be open to our relationship, not wanting to be with a murderer should be an UNDERSTANDABLE hiccup in a friendship.
Well, think back to when they first met Buzz. True, they welcome him in, but they also taunt Woody for not being like Buzz, especially Potato Head. Look, Woody may have been in the wrong about it, but I don’t blame him because he’s been Andy’s favorite for years, then some delusional new toy takes his place for a bit (it’s understandable because imagine how much attention Woody had). So technically, it’s the other toys’ fault for Woody’s jealousy, because if they hadn’t taunted him about being replaced, he and Buzz wouldn’t had went through this.
For The Green Army Men scene(which was the first scene to be produced), supervising animator (later the director of Monsters, Inc., Up, Inside Out and Soul and since John Lasseter's departure, the head of Pixar) Pete Docter nailed a pair of tennis shoes onto boards and he and a couple of animators walked in those as reference for The Green Army Men).
Since technology was limited in the mid-90's, there were different models for when the Green Army Men jumped off the edge and those with their parachutes open, the first models were moved underneath the ceiling of the second floor, so they're not shown in camera and the other activated the parachutes when the camera was showing the floor down below.
Toy Story is Pixar, which was independant at the time (since bought by Disney).
Disney: Money talks.
@Zombified Pariah You're not even wrong.

Made me laugh so much 😂
😂😅
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
So glad I found your channel, this is how movie reactions should be. 🍿
I have always loved this Pixar franchise
Holy shit I think this might be my new favorite reaction from you. Toy Story is one of the movies I grew up with and my personal favorite is part 2 but 3 is so emotional 😭 Also I shamelessly use "uncultured swine" as an insult
Thanks! People keep telling me that 2&3 are their favorites so I’ll definitely react to them as well at some point.
Uncultured swine might be among the best insults in Disney history 😂
@@SophieLents Nice! I can't wait to see your commentary for those movies. Haha yeah it's one of my favorites along with limp noodle
Do not EVER use that on Facebook, they consider it bullying.
Fun facts: Woody was actually supposed to be more mean and villainous than what we see in the movie
Woody’s voice actor’s brother actually voice acted Woody’s voice box whenever Woody’s string is pulled
And another fact: Sids father is an alcoholic as evidence in the scene where Buzz saw his toy commercial
Sophie: *relieved that Andy's mom didn't let a child pump the gas*
Me, whose mom made him pump the gas a few times as a kid so that I would know how to do it later on in life: "What, like it's hard?"
I've binged watched all your videos. You should definitely react to the rest of the Toy Stories. I literally cried. Love your content!😊
Thank you so much! I will react to all Toy Story movies, for sure ☺️

Ya know what it means........
10:17
I love this part. LOL 😂
I love when a word or phrase just triggers something in your brain to start singing, we have something in common lol
You should watch part 2 and part 3 I'm glad you kind of enjoyed this movie I grew up with these movies Woody spinning his head around in front of Sid was hilarious poor Sid but he deserved it
I will definitely watch both!
Yeah, I agree, Sid brought it upon himself haha
@@SophieLents if I had to put them in the top three type of idea toy story 3 then toy story 1 then toy story 2 that's how much I like the story lines on each sequel and the original first one
Agree It's a decent start to the legacy of 3GI Animation.
23:23 "Geesh his head is huge" < well that IS what she said.....
5:40 lol i had one of those giant watches on my wall. It was just a thing we all had back then
I love the way you say "soorry"
Joss Whedon co wrote this and came up with Rex character. Btw great movie!
I also heard that the "Mr Lightbeer" line came from him
I would always cackle uncontrollably at the Mrs. Nesbitt scene and the "would you come up here and give me a hand?" bit as a kid
However, Woody's heart and soul is what I love about him. He is loyal and this is something that is seen down the line of the movies and in Toy Story 3 when Andy speaks about him. And honestly you do see a lot of his true character and heart of a toy.
8:16 No, actually, Woody's correct: Hasbro updated the brand in 2021, dropping the honorific in the name and marketing the toy simply as Potato Head
@15:13 My dog did that too. He always took his nap in the hallway by the stairs.
It's Pixar, Disney just owns them
4:59 he's calling his boss, which is star command
I personally think you need to know more about Woody to actually understand his actions. Since thinking about it more you yourself wouldn't want to be replaced by something else. Even when Woody tried to trap Buzz in a spot that was his feelings acting up which gets more on more sad as the movie moves forward. I also agree on the comment that the toys over in Andy's house are not friends. True friends will always stay by your side no matter what.
15:13 Nope, it's not a weird place for a dog to sleep xDD
19:17 my little brother slept like that for years lol
i know that was just a quick thought, but actually that's a great theory! What if sid is like that cause he heard a toy talk before and now he tortures them waiting for answers and also cause he's scared. Probably what he does is too much just for that reason, so maybe there's some other reason i can't think about rn.
your video just saved me from the anxiety I feel because of the elections in my country
I hope you feel better now!!
Peruvian?
yup
I didn’t see the evil baby head on floor
As much i love Pixar movies, but this has never been one of my favorite Pixar movies, but i do like this movie and its classic for reason.
Great reaction Sophie and take care and stay safe 👍.
Your editing is fantastic 🤣
Ty!
I love all 4 of them.
Out of the songs in this movie (before anyone says it, I know there aren't a lot of them), my favorite is "You've Got A Friend In Me"
Side note:
So many comedy legends/comedic actors in this movie
Tom Hanks-Woody (I also love him in the movie Splash, with Daryl Hannah as his mermaid love interest)
Tim Allen-Buzz Lightyear (I also love his portrayal of Santa in the Santa Clause movies)
Jim Varney-Slinky Dog
Don Rickles-Mr. Potato Head
John Ratzenberger-Hamm
Wallace Shawn-Rex
Annie Potts-Bo Peep (She's also best known as Janine Melnitz in Ghostbusters and as Sheldon Cooper's grandmother in the sitcom Young Sheldon)
Well I'm glad you enjoyed it, it was one of our favorites growing up.
I saw this movie in theaters probably at least six times when it came out. My mom must have been so tired of it by the time I'd had enough, lol
Also, this movie was pixar's first ever full film! These toys are what started it all!!
Yes! I love "first time watching" reactors! And how!? How have you not seen this!? XD
6:48 Oh yeah? well, My brother's on Buzz's side, as he pictured Woody the bad guy!
Buzz:Revenge is not an idea we promote on my planet
Woody:oh well that's good
Buzz:But were not on my planet......are we?
Woody: no?
Woody is not as bad as you think 💭 He's only looking out for his friends he's always Done that 😂 Woody is just very caring and when you see the other Toy story movies you might believe me Lol 😊 💕
I love this movie and the Danish dub is also My favorite dub
Also fun fact In the Danish dub the voice of Woody is the same guy who voiced genie from Aladdin
First time first time you legit never seen this movie since 1995 you definitely been living under a rock
OMG! I didnt know u havent watched Toy Story coz i would have recommended it before. But here u r reacting to it! AWESOME! If u havent watched all 4, would u be reacting to all of them? That would be LOVELY! I promise that u will LOVE them! Toy Story brings JOY to my life! 21:48 i guess we could say that Sid was the "chosen one"😂 also there's nth wrong if u didnt like it n i LOVE ur honesty rather than faking it. I agreed that the 1st one wasnt that amazing but it was still a fun to watch. Its all bout a friendship build up between Woody & Buzz, some trust issues n toys abuse. But trust me the story gets better aft this. My personal favourite would be Toy Story 2 & 4. THNK U as always for the new upload Ms Sophie!🤗❤
Yeah, I don't know how I never watched these movies haha
I'm not going to react to them all back to back cause there are quite a lot of them but I will watch them all eventually!
I'm glad you enjoyed this video, and yes, the friendship and the bonding between Buzz and Woody is so cute!!
I never realized Sid's dad was in the movie. Crashed out and acted like a alcoholic.
For your information Sophie. That was Sid's dad on the chair. Crashed out and drank can of root beer.
Just found your channel. Awesome & funny commentary 👍
Thank you :)
Woody wanted to push buzz in the back of the desk not out the window
People seen to think Woody really wanted to push him out the window.
In the Original storyboard he was going to push him out the window.
4:40 21:12 This film had such a fun concept. I'd love to see Sophie watch some other films where inanimate objects come to life, i.e. *Gnomeo & Juliet* , *Night at the Museum* , Small Soldiers, etc.
18:40
Me on friday nights
I'd love to see Sophie react to Bolt (2008) someday. It's a great animated film & the plot is very similar to Buzz's journey in this film tbh.

put a kid into mental facility= celabrate! that = me laghing my brain out💀
One of my favorite movies when i was a little kid
When woody goes to toy act mode he doesn't feel pain he only does when he move
17:04 Well how would you be feeling if you found you were a toy?
Forgive me if you mentioned it in the video already, but have you seen “The Brave Little Toaster”? It’s basically a hand-drawn animated version of Toy Story but with household appliances. The rumor is that it was fully finished and supposed to get a theatrical release but Pixar was working on Toy Story at the same time and Disney wanted to push the computer animation stuff, so The Brave Little Toaster was sent straight to Disney Channel. It’s definitely worth a watch if you haven’t seen it.
Oh, and hello by the way.
Hi haha
No, I’ve never even heard of The Brave Little Toaster! But it sounds interesting, I’ll give it a watch
"It was okay."
Seamus Gorman loses it.
I think you’re the funniest person I’ve ever watched on CZcams 😭 subbed (:
Not you coming for Woodys big head lmao 😭😭 & your accent makes everything 100x better 😹 I love it
Lmao me
omg thank you so much, that's so sweet!
Last comment I promise 😹 18:09
Also thank you for not putting anabelle scenes in LMAO
You should react to this hidden gem; Punch-Drunk Love (2002)
It’s an Adam Sandler film, but it’s more than that. It’s about a man dealing with love and social anxiety.
Thank you for suggestion! It sounds really interesting, I’ll put it on my list
Lmao great reactions 😂😆
Thanks ❤️
Thank you for someone seeing it too the rest of the toys were being mean to Woody. Woody is one of my favorites from when I was a kid but now as an adult seeing this again. but the others were really not there for him, and he was trying to be nice to buzz and welcome him into Andy's room. And the other toys treat him with disrespect. Let's face it they all were jealous because Woody was the favorite for a long time.
No joke, I can quote this movie almost VERBATIM.
And also that Woody is the last thing that Andy's father gave him before he died 😢 20:09
Cool you watched it
20:30 Tim Allen (voice of Buzz Lightyear) was on a TV series called "Home Improvement" in which he had a show-within-a-show called "Tool Time" which was sponsored by Binford Tools.
He also stars in The Santa Clause movies.
I got you but is still one of my faves and a special place in heart
So I don't know if you got this or not. But the fishing line attached to the pair of legs was a "hooker" 😂😭😂
I heard that Sims 4 very sad sound effect!
I'm sure Andy's mom has toys also named woody and buzz 😏
When anyone was young and watch this movie did you want to go to Pizza Planet we're like wished it was a real place
If you lost sympathy with Woody an thought that the toys, particularly Mr. Potato Head aren't his friends, just look at The Black Friday Reel (which was a version that Jeffery Katzenberg, former head of Disney Animation and later founded Dreamworks after he got fired from Disney when he asked then CEO Michael Eisner to take over then-recently deceased Frank Wells' job as President of The Walt Disney Company, he thought earlier versions of Toy Story were too childish and wanted more "edgy", this was so bad that Disney wanted to fire Pixar's animators and absorb PPixar into Disney to finish the movie their way but John Lasseter begged Disney to give them two weeks to make a better version, which they did and production got started), there Woody threw Buzz out of the window by purpose and was confronted by the other toys, not caring until they starting to revolt, even consindering throwing him out of the window. He was just mean and despicable, not the Woody we all know and love.
I use to have these toys when I was a kid
5:34 "I never understood this"
*I thought this was your first time watching? ;)*
I meant in general 😂 my friend had one of those and I was really confused every time I went to his house
Fun fact: Combat Carl was supposed to be a G.I. Joe but Hasbro, who owns G.I. Joe didn't like the idea of one of their toys being blown up (when Sid straps Combat Carl to the rocket) so they (Hasbro) said no.
HOW. Its been out for 26 years!
It’s a mystery to me too
@@SophieLents lol
A bug just buzzed on buzz lightyear's helmet
OMG! Please tell me you'll be watching all of them! Number 3 is my fav!
I’ll watch them all but not back to back I think!

just a little detail about real tyrannosaurs rex's arms, they could lift up to 600 pounds of weight.
1:27 Wait… if Andy’s the deputy, does that mean he’s going to outlive Woody?
