i love the little up-pitched inflection in her voice when she says "sweet". also trickster mode is terrifying and this does a great job of showing it; the way she's completely forgotten how (justifiably) upset she was with jake only a day or so ago... because she CAN'T be upset. trickster mode is horrifying

Very, VERY late reply, but this is quite literally true, it's a good representation of drugs, as it overloads your brain with the chemicals that bring you joy! It completely goes past the normal thresholds and changes your brain chemistry, the intense joy and euphoria people get from drugs is caused by the overload of happiness causing chemicals, it's part of what gets the brain addicted!
Yeah i love trickster mode as an allegory for drug abuse and instant gratification, but of course hussie didnt put enough work into the idea to make it stand up on its own and make sense in canon

Trickster mode is the most terrifying thing to think about to me... this surpasses sally face, poko poko shopping, little misfortune, Fran bow, etc.... just the thought of being stuck as a shell of the person I used to be.... the fact I’m heart and this can’t effect me probably makes it so much worse because I can’t even be effected by it... I’ve never felt so uncomfortable listening to a song before, but I can’t stop listening to it. Being one of the only sane people in the world in a world of insanity is my biggest fear. All my family and friends becoming these zombies... Ugh, I hate it more than anything in the world but I can’t stop thinking about it.

I know how everyone says how terrifying trickster mode is. alot of it is disturbing with the some of the imagery, But ever sense my brother told me about homestuck and then showing me tricksters, i still dont find it to be terrifying as most. There is a apart of me that does fear it, but another huge part embracing it. Sweets and deserts are the only thing that keep me happy, i already live a live of constant fear and depression (I have a anxiety disorder, its diffrent then normal anxiety, it never goes away)
And that's why it's so creepy, because there's a part of everyone that wants it

As much as I hate Jane, i feel kinda... bad for her in trickster mode. It's so horrifying, id feel bad for anyone subjected to it.
She was better back in the first homestuck. Trickster could be seen as a way to ignore your problem, endless happiness, but it is now truly happiness.

And Calliope, the one of grey text, Jane’s greatest friend, will soon give her one piece of the puzzle of the great and horrible gift. when i found this when it was first uploaded- this song slapped so hard i joined the fandom
whenever i try to focus my ear on hearing on the back vocals that echo right behind the main vocals it starts to hurt my head because its just completely covered up by the main vocals its almost impossible to identify the tone
its like hauntingly similar to what Jane does when in trickster mode
