    That was fun to watch. After listening to the wind in your vlog I was really pleased to see you are putting your house reasonably close to your bushland; that should cut down some of the wind and make it warmer in the winter. And you'll be able to plant some shrubbery to mitigate it on the sides. It will be interesting to see how it goes; here in Oz mostly we tend to try to catch the breezes so I am guessing about your weather. Good to share in your excitement, Sam.

    That's exciting! We had a used mobile home moved to our land two years ago. I bought it off a friend for an amazing price! We also had footers poured. After they poured our footers, it went quick. They had the home set up about two weeks later. Hopefully they'll get yours moved quickly! I'd recommend walking through and picking up any rocks, and leveling out the mounds from the auger. It's not real fun when crawling around underneath and finding a rock with a knee cap. 😂

    I am so excited for you. When our mobil was moved from NC to Wash state in1974 we had all regular furniture in the home and we were allowed to keep it all in there just nothing loose......lamps etc packed of course and table upside down with chairs nicely laid inside and boxes in between to buffer. All our appliances were left in and just strapped to the wall behind. It was a lot easier than we thought in the beginning. The only thing was they blew 12 tires coming across the USA and we had to pay for them. It was a breeze, and no worries. Not sure how many miles you have to move but I know it's not from NC to Washington state.........LOL All cabinet things we had to remove of course. Once they came and got it, it was theres........no issues and we were on the way. They arrived about two weeks after we did and we camped in our 15 ft prowler for 2 months. When it arrived it was like now we are home. The home itself with the four of us in it was home.......the land was just a place we needed to get used to as it was a total different environment. Please don't stress Angela, they are pros and in the end it will be what it will be and you will deal with it. I think it should go smooth as can be and you will look back wondering why you were so concerned. It's going to be amazing and a wonderful venture and memories behind you soon.
    God bless, wishing you all the best and you've got Sams support and that is all that really matters.........he's got you covered! :-)
    Again........many blessings

    • @GreenAcreHomestead
      @GreenAcreHomestead  Před 2 lety +5

      Septics should never be installed until after a mobile home is in place. This is because of not knowing exactly where the home is, the homes plumbing exit, and to give movers as much room to drive and haul the home around as possible. Last thing you’d want is your new septic crushed by the home or equipment. :)

      They're not that close -- not to us where we can see 30 homes out the living room window. :) The distance to our nearest neighbor is about 600 feet. The ones seen in this video are more about 800 feet away. The flat land makes them seem closer.

    Here in Texas, it is a law that you have a rock bed covering the surface of the ground, then it is topped with very hard black plastic before the mobile home is delivered to the site. I guess you don't have to do that, but I think it has to do with water drainage under the home.
