One time i tried to teach my gf how to longboard and she was falling so i catched her, (normally i would run to the longboard when i teach someone) long story short my longboard has now a big dent in the nose cause it hits the curb. You can't imagine how hard it is to see your longboard damaged, if you're not an owner of it ahah
@@ptiotfromage5071 Something similar happened to me and now you've got to look at that dent for the rest of your boards lifespan. Sucks :'(

They picked such a great guy for this- he's so sincere and had no qualms about a girl being better than him at something... and likewise, she's a confident teacher.
11:56 "I don't want people to see me and get encouraged to just irresponsibly quit what they're doing right now to chase their dreams." Good reality check. Not everyone could work out as well as she did. It's important to make that leap only after you do well and see prospect to succeed.
Just like any korean HRD says, you're not trying hard enough, you lack of effort, and you're an ungrateful being it's always easy to get replacement. I bet she had this hardships when she quit.
Lots of people have been successful otherwise. Bill Gates comes to mind.

@danturbo316 I tried skateboard once, can't even last 3 seconds on top of it.
If he had skateboarded as a kid he would have looked way better. It was painful watching him fall just going in a straight line .
Yeah he did good for the first time. It usually takes most people who start later at least a day to learn how to stand and ride on the board without many issues.
To be honest, I've started longboarding because of Quarantine and I'm like a week in now ( I do it about an hour per day) and I was way worse than jasper to begin with, now I can do carves and I'm starting to learn some easy steps - it really just takes time and patience to be honest
It’s actually not that hard I just tried for my first time today and I can turn and go in a straight line
It's funny when the host fell and instead of going to help him she went running to catch her longboard
The board was still rolling and he wasn’t badly hurt.

🤣 Funny, but definitely rider reflex.
Falling is expected and running over isn't going to help.
A fast rolling board on the other hand could mean it going into water, the road, someones shin, etc.

She's looks so happy and free on that long board. Her answers are also so poised and realistic. A lot of people on CZcams tell you to quit your day job to follow your dreams, but this girl realizes that's not always realistic for everyone-very mature.
She just gives it an air of elegance and beauty.
What I most appreciate about her is that younger generations are bringing back old school stuff and making it popular again, by adding their own touch and style to something that use to be so fun for me as a kid and even earlier generations...

The fact that they went straight to tricks and positions and it took me rough 6 hours to just just get kinda comfortable on the board
Conclusion: get comfortable before you do tricks, that way it will be WAY easier!!

What is very telling in this video is that HyoJoo found herself in the activity. It wasn’t like she knew before she started long boarding that it would become this huge passion and life assignment.
She spoke wisely about not chasing dreams because they may not really reflect who you are.
Try different things that will give you a path to find the thing that resonates with your character.

She’s more comfortable on a long board than I am on my feet, she’s just so damn natural and playful.
I’m so jealous that she has almost zero bruise on her legs while longboarding amazingly and gracefully . I got all the bruises, pains and shames after 15mins skating...😭😆

When I first saw her videos, I was really amazed by her moves and I really wanted to try longboarding as well ! Many years passed and I still haven't tried it but I still think about it. And it was so sweet of her brother to defend her ! I'm sure she is way happier now and wish her success :D

Longboard dancing is hard, but cruising on a longboard is very easy it takes like a week to learn basics

Those "step 180's" she does remind me of the old school freestyle stuff that Rodney Mullen did. I think the only problem the interviewer had was trying to learn that many things in one day. Just learning to push while keeping balance can take a while. I'd also love to see Hyojoo out of her element on a shortboard, trying to learn an ollie or a drop-in.
Respect! Longboarding has gotten popular here in the US because of her. Her style and creation has us all in wow.

Hyojoo has changed my goals for myself in long boarding. I seriously did not conceive moves like hers. I feel compelled to try to move around on my deck after watching hers videos. For that I am thankful to her.
