@@kennyfox7055 that's incorrect. The malevolence was over 4 kilometers or 4000 meters long. But yes it has 500 turbolaser or canons. And 2 very big ion cannons. The malevolence was bigger than every ship that ever exist before and while the clone wars.

Fun Fact: When the Eclipse was originally revealed. The Executor was listed as an 8km long ship. It was meant to completely eclipse all other ships before it in both length and mass. Hence the name.
That's disney logic for you wanting to erase everything that makes sense . The Original Executer that was seen in EMPIRE STRIKES BACK was ONLY 8k the Eclipse was WAY bigger hence the name. But then you factor in all the screwballs from Disney and it's no wonder you have garbage like this
So the eclipse is therefore canonically larger?
@@anannoyingtoaster3888 yes
@@charleswinthrop5929 Actually I do believe the Executor was resized several times before Disney bought the rights to Lucasfilm, mostly as a result of new EU content. It started at 8km but varied between 16 to 19km after a few years or so of EU content being released.

technically, won't the star wars universe be the most advanced civilization posssible? they use nuclear energy, have unimaginable resources for ships, planet weapons etc. And the length of these ships are just... unimaginable. Magnificient.
Halo (specifically the forerunners and some aspects of the covenant ) have more advanced tech. And also warhammer 40k *especially* the Necrons.
They say the Andromedins make space ships as big as planets and they are supposed to be real Aliens
Dont forget tech in star trek is also more advance
Nerd time the sovereign class star dreadnought did not have a super laser that was on par with the death star. it was not even close. It was a scaled down variant from the Eclipse class, which was multiple times weaker than the Death Star's super laser. CT-6636 actually, the Imperial military was extremely mysogynistic. In Legends, Daala and Isard were outside of the norm for Imperial officers, and Daala's decision to promote women to officer ranks during her brief stint as Grand Admiral (during Darksaber) was remarked on by Kyp Durron and Dorsk 81 when they tried to infiltrate her forces.
All of these mega class destroyers made obsolete with the "Holdo Maneuver"
Question: Won't these huge ships create their own gravity that will just pull every other smaller object towards them? Like starfighters, asteroids, and even other tinier capital ships hovering around them?
Gravity is based on mass and density of that mass. These ships while large, don’t have enough density.

The Death Star is not a ship
(You guys are all right I stand corrected the Death Star does have engines I looked it up and it says it in the current Star Wars book that I am reading)
B3lowZ3ro0 it actually is because it can move so it’s mobile and there for not a station it’s called station for a reason because if it is it would be stationary
Stations are stationary.
It has both a hyperdrive and sublight engines, but most of the time it is stationary so it can be classified as both. Space station is kinda misnamed to begin with because they all move in orbit of their respective gravitational sources.
It has a hyper drive stations don’t have hyperdrives
The death star moves on it's own so it's a space ship. The ISS is a space station.
The Death Star may have been able to blow up whole planets, but how many worlds were stripped bare of resources in order to build these fleets of behemoths?

Haven't consumed much star wars other than these type of videos and original trilogy all the way through back in 90's (was 15)when it was re-released and my friends dad was trying to get us into it. Took like 8 of us to the theater to see one and payed.
Seen most of the 2nd set of trilogies on tv. But those first 3 I remember were pretty cool.
I like technical videos, and these are cool, make my imagination go again like a kid.
Fifteen kilometers is all good and all, but a devestating weapon called a Wave Motion Gun was fit into a space battleship that measured only 263 meters long. The ISD is a mile long in total, so how can it be larger than the Enterprise by "a mile or so"?
Actually if it was a mile it would be 2 Klicks (1.2 miles long to be pretty close to exact) in length. I believe Pre-Disney has the Imp I at 1600 meters making it 1.6 Klicks in length. But yes you asked the question I was about to. With the NCC-1701 (no bloody A, B, C, or D) coming in at 288 (TOS era) meters, how does a ship half a Klick short of a mile come in at "more than a mile longer?" You forgot one thing about Center Point Station it created the Corellian system or it's was the reason the Corellian system was in existence
I'm not sure if one can count Centerpoint Station as a "ship", since to be classified as one, it must have a self-contained propulsion system. While it has a means of changing its orientation to aim its tractor beam array, I don't know if this is capable of actually changing its relative location in space, unless the tractor beam array itself can be used to move it by pulling it towards or pushing it away from other objects with sufficient mass. Other than that, I don't know if there's ever been any mention of it having a self-contained propulsion system.
There's also a few other examples, be they canon or from legends, that could've made this list (note that I'm only listing stuff that has a definite size measurement available):
Tarkin: Basically a DS-1 with all the extra frills stripped off, the result was still a massive vessel 42 km long and 70 km tall, with all of the offensive power of the original. Its only offensive use was the destruction of a planet containing stygium crystals, which were then collected for use on the TIE Phantom project.
Devastation: A heavily modified (and by that I mean the whole bow was replaced at the very least, nearly doubling the original length) Subjugator-class and sister ship of the Malevolence, this could be considered the CIS' answer to the Mandator II. At nearly 8 km long, it was one of the biggest ships of the Clone Wars era and arguably the most powerful in terms of sheer destructive potential, with its axially-mounted ion pulse cannon that could disable several Venator-class Star Destroyers with a single shot. It ended up barely seeing use with the CIS before a rogue nightsister hijacked the ship and plotted a course for Coruscant, with the ship destroyed en route by a Jedi strike team.
Galaxy Gun: A smaller but far more destructive successor to the Death Star used by the Dark Empire. Granted, it only fits the "self-propelled" criteria in the sense that it actually has a hyperdrive, but it's relatively slow for the setting at a Class 6.
Obi-Wan called the Deathstar a Space Station so everyone SHADDAP!

The super laser on the sovereign and the eclipse weren't on pare with the Death Star, the best they could do was destroy a continent and maybe given enough time it could reach the core and destroy the planet.

Number 1 is very scary , just moving a planet a bit would cause extinction level damage all across the poor world being moved.
The Forerunners from HALO commonly had ships over 100km long, with some such as the Didact's flagship, ''The Mantle's Approach'', being much more massive. But even that one was by no means considered the biggest - though it is the best described one by far.
Mantle's Approach Dimensions and Stats:
Length = 142.7 kilometres (88.7 miles)
Width = 138.6 kilometres (86.1 miles)
Height = 371.4 kilometres (230.8 miles)
Mass = 4.7 quadrillion metric tons.
Crew = 1 Strategos, 25 Princeps + 800 Navarchs.
Complement = 250,000 Praetorians + 5,500,000 Venatores.
Further notes:
- the Mantle's Approach, while the largest warship ever seen in the HALO franchise so far, from a Human and (former) Covenant member species perspective, is not necessarily the largest warship of the Forerunners. By their own
estimations, the Forerunners had bigger ships (but these have yet to be seen in detail)
- at 4.7 quadrillion metric tons in mass, if this thing crashed into a planet it'd practically destroy it. The 10 km wide Chixculub Impactor (Meteorite) that hit Earth 65.5 million years ago, for comparison and perspective, was the size of Mount Everest and weighed approximately 1 Trillion metric tons (and that caused the 2nd biggest mass extinction of all time on Earth if we're not counting what humans are doing to the planet now) The Mantle's Approach is what, 4,700 times bigger in mass?
- according to Awakening: The Art of Halo 4, the Mantle's Approach is large enough to have it's own thin atmosphere form on its outer hull.

You messed up like half of the sizes, for example the mandator 3 is actually a bellator class and its 7.2km long while the mandator 3 has no pics and is 12km long.
Also the praetor is 4.8km long, not 8, as that would make it a dreadnought, which is according to the anaxes war college system (any ship over 5km long is a dreadnought)
And i think you messed up the name of the recusant class light destroyer when talking about the mandator 2.
And i wont even get started about the death star being a ship.

matejkar 666 oh, we both know there will still be a lot of rants.
matejkar 666 The Death Star 2 was only 200km in diameter, they confirmed this size in canon. The 900km size was an error because they based it off of the curvature of in the Executor crashing scene but considering it was the 80’s, they made the size incorrect. Just to let you know
