Add in the hardware to repair, refit, rearm it's fighters and any frigates/small corvettes or gunships and it would be a right terror to face.
I feel like Thrawn would investigate the idea of adding Gravity Projectors to any Tycon-Class Battle Stations under his control.

@@FroyourHistory and yes, we need some more prequel fanships.
The “Ball turrets” look a lot like the ion canon from ESB on Hoth. Maybe the Empire finally took a page out of the rebels book and use them to disable large rebel ships and tractor into the belly of beast
Technically, the concept of using Ion Cannons has always been there. I don't know about the ball turrets but the game Empire At War clearly has the ion cannons as a subsystem for capital ships and is apart of the ship-to-ship arsenal.
now that's a euphemism xD

I love the design but the negative space seems kinda the wrong thing for a star destroyer/fleet carrier. You would want all the space you can get for storage
The first thing I thought when I saw the negative space was "Damn, this thing can carry a star destroyer". I legit thought it might've been like an Imperial version of Halo's Infinity.
@@watermelongaming3698 that would've been sick
its probably meant to act as a mobile space station, in point defense logic you want your weapons to not only be near the core of the ship protecting vulnerable parts like the bridge, engines, and reactor, but you also want to control the air-space around and in front of the launch vector for the hangars, creating a ship with a large forward/bow focused anti-starfighter defense array to protect its hangars is an excellent way to do this. you don't want all of your point defense in one spot, you wanna spread it into multiple defensive lines starting with the farthest from the vulnerability, followed by a second defensive line to eliminate stragglers, followed by a final defensive line maintaining the heavy artillery to take out larger vessels or tactical missiles.
additionally, i'd like to add a minor design revision that allows some of the negative space to be
used to repair or maintain a medium sized vessel like an arquitens light cruiser or something similar.
My interpretation is 'finished' versions would have massive doors that could close, allowing it to carry absurd amounts of cargo, or tractor beam damaged ships into the negative space so repairs could be performed in the field with relative security
Meanwhile, at Disney, "shall we just take the Star Destroyer model we have and stick a gun on the belly?"
Yeah, the only really good thing from them is the Resurgent.
@@astygmatyzm9071 Yeah resurgent is very well design and does learn from the mistakes of the empire unlike the mandator 4.

czcams.com/video/eG9lTgu0R-M/video.html
The CG almost looks like it was done using miniatures.
It perfectly captures the classic Star Wars look, very well done!
I honestly think that these ships are far more interesting than some that we actually see in movies and such
Looking at you Xyston
They are interesting but at the same time, there is a major lack of logic in that negative space design. It just don't fit the universe (still cool). It has no internal space for a reactor anymore. Could have made a much smaller ship with the same internal capacity, and a much smaller surface area. Basically it's a large flying hangar bay with no effecitve sheilds, not enough power for its weapons & drives. Damned good looking though.
@@cgi2002 Yes and no. That rear reactor bulb is massive. I bet it houses nearly as much reactor power as an interdictor. Plenty for SW style shields
@@ogmechsftw considering the reactor in an interdictor is smaller (its deceptive but the comparative sizes if the ships make up for it) than the one in an ISD 2, and this ship appears to he several times the size of an ISD 2, its doubtful.
@@cgi2002 due know it's a fleet carrier and lazers in starwars are actually plasma bolts of hot gas and that honestly the Ship is practically because it makes more than up for it in terms of fighter component and that it's not just sat in one single spot [ looks at isd 1 and shivers ] it's a fleet carrier and is not designed to go up against capital ships directly it is heavily armed and probably lighty armored but just as deadly and it fits as a dedicated carrier ship because at this point the Aclemater is not really in service with the empire anymore, and it has 2 times the firepower of a single ISD while likely being a bit bigger and I wouldn't be surprised if longer ranged turbolazers were used.
I can see this serving as a carrier that doubles as a repair vessel. Its sheer size and armament would be very tough to fight even without support ships.
Yeah a cut out area I could see a imperial isd fiting in there for repairs
Really beautiful scenes all in all, it just makes it more annoying that Disney will take these kind of models without the creators' permissions.
This is one of the best fan creations I’ve ever seen, it’s truly is a masterpiece ✨
This has to be my favorite fan design star destroyer so far. Thank you and great job to those who created it, and thank you Eck for featuring it!
Howie (in my opinion) is the Star Wars version to the guy who made the Astartes Warhammer movie: just exceptional work.
The "ball turrets" look exactly like the Ion Cannon battery on Hoth.
howie's models are the first i've ever seen to capture what my five or six year old eyes saw 1987 or 1988 when i watched the empire strikes back and was introduced to star wars.
I love these types of videos, so much great work going on in the Star Wars community it’s great to see
☆☆OUTSTANDING☆☆
This work is incredible. Such great details. I love it all. Can not wait to see the short stories!!!
☆☆☆Thank you so much for sharing with us!!!☆☆
Empire needs a Lukrehulk ... hold my spachka.
He says ball turrets but they look like the ion cannon from Hoth..
I think they are ion cannons, though not as large as the Hoth defence gun. IIRC FractalSponge and some other prominent fan-ship designers used the sphere turrets on a lot of their fan star destroyers and sorta normalized their use.
Amazing! The detail of the animation is as good or even better of what we see in the movies and shows. It shows how much technology has advance when it comes to use CGI in this kind of projects
Beautiful modelling, nice lighting and textures. smoothly animated camera. Really nice work.
Underneath the triangle outline as well I would have slots for raiders like how the Infinity can launch stridents.
That while it would be cool is completely un necessary since all non starfighter ships have hyperdrives
@@fordo5361 Stridents can do slipspace. Its about carrying and resuplying your own escort.
@@OrDuneStudios its still a use of space that can be better used
Now I just want to see a squadron of raiders disembarking from that main hangar assembly!
I've recently just been introduced to him and I already love this!!!
Totally supportive! I’m a traditional 2D animator and respect this quality of work so highly, especially since it comes from the artist’s heart & soul. Stunning work! Disney has a big thing or two to learn from artists like these whom devote themselves to such a phenomenal franchise. Man, everything on this and the other models within the same render are absolutely timeless, I can’t stop drooling ~ 🤤 WELL DONE!!!
I watched the videos mere minutes after it came out.
The models and animation is so highly detailed!!! The fact it takes months to make this is why I appreciate his work more!
I call an upside 501st speeder bike the “Resecutor Class Heavy Repair Frigate*”
The speeder bike controls can repair 2 ISDs. It can have 4 isds on each side.
It looks quite cool lol.
Disney: this will make a fine addition to my collection.
I watched this animation just the other day... truly amazing and i don't think I have seen better! Not to mention the sounds you hear....
5:27, the lighting is incredible, as the camera pans around and the light from the engines goes behind the engine dish, the glare from the light disappears as well. 5:18 as well, the top left main engine is slightly obscured by the interdictor cruiser's superstructure, and for the briefest moment, the glare peeps through as the camera pans by
Another small detail are the smaller engine dishes, 4 both to the extreme left and right of the main engines, are unlit, which makes sense because it seems like it's on standby, and not accelerating very hard
I literally saw that and I was like “eck would love this!”
I believe it is large enough to potentially dock a star destroyer in that space as well. Kind of like a mobile space station with a bunch of fighters and firepower.
According to Howie himself, it's supposed to fit 2 star destroyers keel to keel
@@alephkasai9384 He also said the negative space was used to ventilate the smell of stormtrooper armor. The Magister probably can't fit a single ISD since its on a kilometer longer.
What I really love with this shot is that Howie adds in what sounds like the supersonic "crackle" from real life rocket engine exhaust when the camera pans around to the rear of the ship. It adds a layer of weight to the sound design which is extremely fitting and should be used more often.
I really wasnt expecting to watch star wars themed video with ALISON, my favourite artist, in background. I am speechless

‘You better come take a look at this” cliché.

I actuality don't like the turrets.
The empty space, semi exposed reactor and the fact that most of the ship is one big thin bar makes me suspect that shes quite delicate compared to a ISD or most other ships in her weight class.
Only keep just enough turrets to fend off fighters and the odd corvette or small frigate. Then strip out all the rest for as much hangar space as humanly possible. power saved can be diverted to engine because she cant be caught by a brawler.
The empire has plenty of big gun scary ships. it needs as much hangar space as it can get.
I don't mind the turrets... it's the empty space and how it is laid out. The Bow and Aft are fine... the connections are, as you said, the weak points. She doesn't have enough weapons nor hangar space on the bars to justify their existence.
@@aralornwolf3140 If she wasn't designated as a fleet carrier then of course i wouldn't mind and as a art piece she looks super cool but as it stands i would prefer a Secutor.starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Secutor-class_Star_Destroyer/Legends
as i suspect a secutor would be both more durable and have a slightly larger fighter wing at the same cost and size.
@@kybercat7 ,
Agreed, she looks beautiful.
@@aralornwolf3140 It looks for me, that ISD can fit into gasp, maybe it can refuel even this big ship, or even "dock them" and literaly carry whole fleet. How to get disabled ISD to shipyard for repair? Take this shih, dock ISD to it and take it to hyperspace. Maybe to much fantasy, but it will be cool
@@tomaskops7119 ,
Repair ships exist... they are part of any fleet train along with transports, hospital ships, and ammunition ships. All they need to do is get the backup hyperdrives operational... and the ship can then head to the dockyard for repairs.
starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Repair_barge
Although, they are referred to as barges in Star Wars lore and not a ships. That's an insult to their existence. :/
He's truly making masterpieces, this ship is utterly glorious. Looking forward to more!
Only complaint I have on the clip is the TIEs, and it's a personal gripe at that. Something about them hits an uncanny valley for me, the movement feels strangely disjointed. Apart from that, this is pure gold. The Magister feels like a flagship able to make the Tarkin Doctrine work. Love the ball turrets but also the more traditional Imperial turret emplacements and the Octuple Barbettes, the final argument of ship to ship engagement.
*"Hello There and thank you!"*

I seriously love EC Henry's Nebulon-B.
It feels so natural in any imperial fleet
Don't we all! 👍🏻

The modeling on this is insane! Amazing work and I need to sub!
imagine the things Grand Admiral Thrawn could do with something like this
The Eclipse used to be my favorite star wars ship design. Used to.
I am really loving that interdictor. I like that people are going away from the entirely smooth upper and lower shells on imperial ships, and adding in extra details such as guns or other such hull pieces, rather than just implying all the guns are mounted along the side
I saw the original video before these one, and man its beutiful, also it has engine sound and its just NEAT, dudes we need these guys working on star wars series or movies, guys you are great
That star destroyer looks amazing. I actually have a cool star destroyer design idea myself but idk how to make a 3d design

Strange how some fan can make a design like this which looks like it belongs in the star wars universe and Disney comes up with the xython class.lazy!
If I were to use the Xyston but had to keep the cannon, I'd make it target other capital ships. Beast case scenario it one-shots all smaller ships, if not, than the shields take a massive hit and the ship becomes more vulnerable.

Oh my god seeing this made my day that is the best ship model I have seen in a very long time
This is just more evident of Disney's total disregard of what the fanbase has asked for this type of fantasy talent and how they have ignored it and totally dropped the ball.
Yes, I design Star Wars capital ships myself. I'm already drawing the Tarkin class Star Dreadnought. which is a Star Dreadnought of the First Order, with more than 22 km capable of carrying more than 2,000 TIE Fighters and 80,000 Stormtroopers. This ship would have more than 4 reactors made with experimental technology, in addition to having three Commando towers. This ship would also have invisibility generators and class 0.5 hyperdriver. It would have more hidden hangars and the ability to carry a Resurgent Star Destroyer in the umbilical hangar.
@@Obiwan7100 Amazing....!...!
I used to draft various ships for the Empire and had a concept for an Imperial Carrier a full blown capital Navy fighter and bomber class carrier
This is super great work by true fan and artist! Still after long look I have issue with ship design. Command part of ship is right near engineerng and fighter bays... which means every important part of ship is in one place leaving most of its size, space pretty much uselles.
Not really because there are gun emplacements and hangers at the front of the ship and I think it may have a bunch of necessary stuff elsewhere
@@howlofwinter8264 It still more vulnerable to attack from a compromised hull integrity, less armament and hangar space that could be carried, and a reactor bulb situated near the engines.
@@howlofwinter8264 But if you think about it, 1) design is vulnerable because everything from shield generator to all what I already mentioned must be at one place so any enemy attack will after explosion of that part criple or rather destroy entire ship which is not case in normal design.
2) Alright lets say in other section of ship are storage areas for spare parts etc, now when they need personel and that parts in main hangar bay they need to move them from front part of ship! Because there is just not enough space in that main back part for any of this.
3) I say it could be fixed if wings would be wider all the way up to main hangar bay giving enough mass to move command forward + enough space for all service areas. :-)
Got to appreciate his work the details are AWESOME ❤❤❤❤
The second I saw the ship my eyes lit up brighter than the north star
That looks amazing!
So instead of hiring this young man and paying him to make some AWESOME ships for the SW universe, they will just blatantly rip off his work and walk away as a bunch of a holes.
Only a matter of time before some Marvel editor decides to take one of these ships
This takes the concept of a battle carrier to a whole new level. It looks like the Underside is capable of docking smaller warships for resupply, refitting or maintenance.
That took a long ass time i bet. Its worth every signal sec we get to see it. Absolutely amazing
I wish I had the skill to make something like this, it is so cool looking!
Do a little bit every single day ☺️
Fans are creating these ships, and the actual movie crews create garbage like the Xyston... Tell me who is doing the better job?

I subscribed to Day's channel when Eck showcased his work before. The work is awesome and he pulls in some great ships from legends and the old games. This ship is very cool like an Imp Ventnor but better thought out. I did think the bay at the rear above the engines didn't quit make sense in terms or placement and suggesting what the interior space of the ship in the main body would be like.
Hi beckards stairs i really like your star trek videos!

Ohhh my... congrats!!! Looks amazing!
Probably my personal favorite fan design is the Impellor by Fractal Sponge. Loved it so much that I did a extremely detailed drawing by hand to put it on paper instead of it being limited to a 3d model
It seems a bit OP, with multiple sets of barbets (there are several sets underneath as well) despite apparently being less massive than an ISD and a dedicated carrier. But it looks fantastic.
People like Howie Day should not be making star wars fan films but Actual star wars.
Those octuple turret banks are EVERYWHERE on this thing. One more on each side up front, and those large ball turrets that really do remind me of the ion cannon on Hoth are all replacing one or two of the octuple turrets in even more banks, top and bottom. So much good weapons coverage.
I assumed those giant ball turrets were ion cannons, as they look like the v-150 from the Hoth base.
I also love how Howie has a shot of Xg-1 Starwings (one of my favourite star fighters) going around the Magister.
Just by coincidence Disney _"already"_ has a similar design on the drawing board…
I hope this doesn’t go the same way as Star Trek’s “Axanar”
You mean the creator trying to make a professional studio with the money and the results being as expected?
@@ZontarDow I mean this guy getting sued for copyright infringement because Disney notices it
@@papastalin8269 CBS noticed Axanar long before they considered a lawsuit. Axanar's greed ruined Star Trek fanfilms.
How was Axanar greedy? As far as I know, they were sued without any kind of cease and desist, or warning. Also, CBS ruined the fan films, they didn't have to make strict guidelines even if Axanar was in the wrong. And the "must be armature" part of those guidelines makes me think that CBS didn't like the fact that it looked good.
@@papastalin8269 The money that the project was raising was being used to build a professional studio to make professional for profit projects after the Axanar project was done, and they where selling "official" Axanar merchandise to boot. The lawsuit was necessary due to the fact it had become a professional studio stealing their IP, which under California law requires more then just a CnD, and the guidelines where CBS basically going nuclear on the problem. The response to Axanar was 0% "because it looked good" and 100% " because it was extremely illegal and under copyright law CBS is legally obligated to protect its shareholder's property and do something about it". Having been a witness to the events as they happened Axanar's production was almost a cartoonishly incompetent affair in terms of how brazen they where about breaking the law to make money off the Trek IP.
Absolutely spectacular. Beautiful work. Wow!
Seriously well done. I love how there are heavy turbo laser canons on the bottom too. I never understood why everyone puts all the big canons in one place on the top but they don't spread them out and never put any on the bottom. They're space ships, not boats. I don't like the giant space in the middle but this does show tremendous imagination.
