    Thank you very much kind sir. I'm 19 and my doctor told me just today that I can't cure my tinnitus and will have to live with it for the rest of my life. I found your videos and you are helping me not to cure tinnitus, but not to develop it on the first place! THANK YOU A MILLION TIMES

    Thank you for your videos. I've had intrusive tinnitus for 3 years now. No need to tell you what devastating effects it can have. I'm in a better place now and endeavour to do more to help myself. Just wanted to let you know that I was having a 'bad ear' day and becoming somewhat discouraged and impatient about my recovery. (Perhaps it was seeing all those people on a lovely summer day riding their motorcycles; something I did for 12 years and something that gave me great joy but have set aside until the T is at a lower level). In any event, I watch your video on tinnitus and impatience -- it helped me to put things in perspective and to become much calmer. This video as well was a great reminder that it doesn't have to be complicated -- just need to be patient and practice those things that are enjoyable. Again, thank you; I find your messages to be very helpful, Theresa

    Thank you for this wonderful video, Julian, and for all your videos. What a wonderful friend you are to those who have had tinnitus, and who presently have it. I too began my healing with baths and spa. I began going to the gym for the sauna. I had always loved the dry sauna, loved high heat, and for me I knew it would be relaxing. I also at home would take lavender baths with quiet music that I enjoyed, and would watch movies that I loved - life affirming, happy, light-hearted ones, and I would also listen to music I loved, sing, and dance as well. This all began the new turn or path I took, with the awakening that began that this was not some "problem" that needed solving r something to be scared of, but simply a reminder that my body and my life was out of balance and I had far too much unhappiness, worry and stress in my life.

    People are so afraid by the thought of this unending noise; that’s just not how it is. There is a noise, but it can be moved backwards in terms of importance. Through relaxation and habituation it really can be of less importance. Chilling about it is the secret.

    Hi Mr. Hill. First of all, I wanted to say that I really appreciate your efforts in helping people with tinnitus and to give hope to a situation that seems hopeless with no solution. Everything you read or are told about this condition is negative. I have suffered with a Morton's Nueroma in the past, another debilitating "chronic" condition that I would have for the rest of my life and only worsen with time, however I was able to reverse it and it is a thing of the past. I was hoping to have the same experience with tinnitus and your videos give me hope that this is possible. My question is whether or not flying can affect tinnitus and any advice you may have on this. We love to travel and I am hoping that this will not have adverse affects. Thanks!

    • @JulianCowanHill
      @JulianCowanHill  Před 6 lety +2

      Anything that you enjoy and relaxes you and takes your mind off tinnitus is good for tinnitus. If you love flying and travelling this is good for tinnitus. The worst thing we can do is stew in tinnitus and sit with it home alone and freaking out! So getting out having fun taking the mind off it is very helpful. If you enjoy flying, then then it should be fine - even beneficial. If you have a bad cold the change in pressure can bring temporary discomfort or activation but this should back off when the cold does. Enjoy!

      Makes sense. I suppose this would apply to my eating habits as well. I have always been a "foodie". Exploring different foods and eating good food has always been such a big source of enjoyment to me. The majority of the time I eat a healthy, clean diet and rarely consume alcohol or caffeine. However, when we are on vacation or have a date night or a social event we have always just eaten what we wanted and enjoyed the experience. Now I am trying to balance not stressing out about what I eat and trying to enjoy this like I have in the past with trying to be somewhat responsible and not consuming things that apparently spike the T. Any thoughts?

Stress, candida and then loud noise exposure all contributed to my tinnitus sticking around. My tinnitus gets worse with exercise which is dreadful as I have trained my whole life . I had an inner ear trauma from diving 8 weeks ago where I lost my hearing which is permanent. Since then, I have extreme tinnitus in left ear and now mildly in the ear that is still functioning. Exercise also makes my vertigo worse, which seems paradoxical as its suggested to exercise regularly to help it?? Thoughts please

    • @f.b.8254
      @f.b.8254 Před 7 lety +3

      Maybe you need more calming activity then, not anything cardiovascular. Maybe you need a while off from vigorous exercise, in order to let your nervous system calm down. Have you tried relaxing massage, and cranio-sacral bodywork? Have you eliminated stress triggers in your life, and stimulating foods and substances like hot peppers, caffeine, etc?

    • @f.b.8254
      @f.b.8254 Před 7 lety +1

      There is also acupressure, or acupuncture. If you have not had acupuncture before, I would recommend relaxing massage first, then moving on to acupressure massage, which is done clothed, and then, maybe acupuncture, if you feel it might help you. It seems like your tinnitus was made worse by your injury, and that your body is still in a high-stress state as a result. Anything that calms you can help reduce this.

    I have a few questions:
    Is your tinnitus all the way gone like 100% ? Or did you get use to it? also one more question do you believe they're natural ways to get rid of tinnitus/ or habituated to it quickly?

    • @JulianCowanHill
      @JulianCowanHill  Před 8 lety +6

      Its gone completely. It just comes back when I get a bad cold but then goes away again.
      Yes. What I share is having craniosacral therapy to destress the system and release the charge of tinnitus and taking up a body-based practice like yoga or tai chi to shift the attention off tinnitus (like a masker) and bring you out of fight or flight -ie out of fear so the adrenaline levels drop and your hearing stops listening out acutely to the sound of the nervous system. This is a natural way of turning the tinnitus down or off.

      In 2013 Julian took on 21 new clients with tinnitus.
      2 clients reported that the tinnitus stopped after one session.
      8 clients experienced tinnitus becoming significantly quieter during some of their sessions.
      4 clients said their tinnitus became significantly quieter in EVERY cranial session.
      14 clients said that their tinnitus was overall significantly better after a course of craniosacral therapy.
      4 clients reported no improvement with tinnitus, but found the sessions relaxing and beneficial in other ways.
      The average number of sessions attended by this group was 5.

    Hi Julian I am 32 years old and I have tinnitus which really annoys me, it was fade and low three years back but it started becoming severe and now from past few months its really noticeable like I can hear that annoying sound even with fans on and in a noisy place, its like a ghost that haunts me everywhere all the time. As far as I can tell its due to my stressful life and environment, I am very emotional I get stressed out easily I cry immediately and I get angry and loser my temper in a second, so I am a wreck a total emotional mess. I have tinnitus from my early teen years but it was very minor back then. My brother is 26 and he told me he also started to have a bit of this condition, but then again we both live with very difficult parents in a constant depressive and aggressive and very negative environment from which we can not escape. So please help me with this , if you know any tips regarding my situation. I have noticed increased tinnitus has decreased my ability to concentrate and imaginate.

    • @JulianCowanHill
      @JulianCowanHill  Před 8 lety +5

      Sorry to hear you are living in a stressful environment. I hope you and your brother can find your own place to live and establish your basic right as a human being to live in peace and in a way that suits you. What is stopping you from finding your own place? You do not have to live with parents, especially if they are stressing you out? Not having to listen to stressful crap will help your tinnitus settle. Having body-based soothing therapy like craniosacral therapy will help your nervous system settle. You really should aim for feeling safe, calm and comfortable in yourself and in your environment. The more you feel safe and comfortable the more the auditory system will stop sounding the alarm bells and go quiet. Wishing you and your brother independence, choice, freedom and peace. All the best to you. Julian

      I'm afraid I'm someone who dislikes Facebook. It is like taking off the top of your head and sticking into 100 other people's head and hearing their thoughts with no off switch. Feel free to contact me on julian@cst.eu.com and I will get back to you quickly. Best wishes Julian

      Julian Cowan Hill That’s very much how I feel about Facebook! I gave up on it after a short trial. It’s like allowing everybody to march through your home campaigning with their political banners held up, just too much of other people’s head stuff!

    Luckily for you, you had a static, non-reactive tinnitus, otherwise you would hardly be able to jump into the pool and feel better... but what should those with reactive tinnitus do?

    • @JulianCowanHill
      @JulianCowanHill  Před 4 měsíci +3

      Not so. My tinnitus was so reactive that a knife dropping on the sideboard caused me to wince in pain and judder for minutes. I had the sound of a doorbell ringing in my mind for hours. I felt like C3PO the robot and with every movement my tinnitus changed its tune. The pool helped me because it caused me to relax and changed the focus from my at the time deafening sound. It was so loud I couldn't hear the phone ring. Find what helps you relax and switch off and do regular practice like the techniques on my app www.quietenapp.com Click on the matrix button and then the red banner and you will find many practices and techniques there. I hope they help. I strongly recommend finding a good body-worker who can help relax you and go at least once a week.

      @@JulianCowanHill I wanted to come to you for an appointment, but I live in a small country, Moldova, far from you. Maybe you know a specialist in Moldova-Chisinau? I have reactive tinitus that changes with almost all sounds, it affects both ears, it’s most likely forever... The trouble is that the sounds are ultra-high frequency, very high.

    I have had tinnitus(a loud screech) for many years, i have a distractor in my ear playing white noise, i also have my laptop open.my tv on and and using my desktop now. I find this distraction can help. I find the pillow I was given by the tinnitus clinic very helpful - it plays music or sounds - it does help me sleep. I'll try the relaxation technique when I go to bed tonight. I honestly don't believe there is a cure - mine started when my husband had severe depression - he was very angry and i was the punchbag (not literally) but verbally - he is fine now but I have the scars. Anyway good luck everybody - suffering quite a bit today even with everything on - but there are worse illnesses around and I have to count myself lucky I suppose. xx

      Maybe good to have therapy to process the overwhelm you experienced when your husband had depression. Think of tinnitus as having an overloaded nervous system. Learn to lighten the load and get support and things are very likely to improve. You could look at the British Association of Craniosacral Therapists: www.craniosacral.co.uk or go to ACPP for Core Process Psychotherapists. Good luck with it all. Julian

    More research and funding needs to put into tinnitus cures and study and with people like Julian at the center of it actually helping people and not making people feel like the only way to escape this never ending bad dream is suicide or losing your mind. this man and Liam need to be given massive amounts of recourses by the governments to help cure people because this disease is no joke and is absolutely horrific and nobody deserves something like this!!
