  • Letting go of impatience helps tinnitus back off. If you give yourself more time and space, and take the pressure off yourself and make sure others do not put too much pressure on you either, then this massively improves the likelihood of you making a faster recovery.

Iv had tinnitus for the past 3 weeks and i was very depressed because iv had i like 4 times before but it went away. I travelled to my family, because i knew here i can change my mindset. I started to think positive and telling myself everyday that I will get better and it works. The past couple days it got so quiet that i dont even mind being in a quiet room anymore. I also went to chiropractor and prayed. There is cure for tinnitus and its all in your head. So many people come here and saying negative things, they dont even understand what it does to people that come here to seek advice and positivity.

MandyMalake there is nothing positive in saying Its all in your head though. It really sounds invalidating. For Julian’s perspective check out his Is Tinnitus Psychosomatic? video

I only have words of gratitude for you Julian. THANK YOU 🙏🏻
When I started my journey with tinnitus about 2 months ago i went through the hardest part of the path. At the time, finding your videos and recommendations started to make such a good impact on my coping and learning curve. I can now say I’m over the “anxiety trigger” stage and have slowly integrated T to my daily life -nighttime is my pending assignment-.
Please do tell when/if you’re giving seminaries or lectures for other therapists on this, I am a psychologist myself and this has given me the new purpose of providing emotional support to those who struggle with tinnitus here in Buenos Aires.

Julian, I wanted to say a huge thanks. I got T about 3 months ago (funnily enough at the same time as glandular fever) I DJ and so naturally I really panicked about effecting my hearing and passion. At tough times Ive put your videos on at night and honestly, the hope they give has helped immensely and bought me out if very dark times. Ive started now being mindful of my CN system not blaming my ears. Cutting out alcohol, meditating (and for me drinking LOTS of water) has made a HUGE difference! I think it's a sign for us to slow down and look after ourselves for sure. Keep making these videos, it's hope that people need. And your approach is real and refreshing! ❤ Thank you, Thank you Thank you !sali (NZ) btw I did buy musician's earplugs as a preventative measure, so I believe it was a great sign to look after my hearing too.

I have found that once I started accepting what is. ..pulsative tinnitus. .it ever so slightly improved. I got an mp3 player and I got someone to download white noise and water running sounds off youtube onto it. I go to sleep with one earplug in (tinnitus in one ear only thank goodness) this really helps and I just have it loud enough to mask the tinnitus, I actually found it to be abit better on waking. It does take a few nights to get used to the ear plug. it's hard not to panic I did for awhile when I first got it (post surgery).

one approach i have found useful in learning to allow healing is that while yoga helped me to strengthen my body and breathe more efficiently - most teachers are teaching yang yoga - which is not very relaxing. the counter balance to yang yoga is yin yoga, which empowers the feminine, receptive parts in us to be accepted and at peace. yin yoga is slow and postures are held for longer than the more well known forms of yoga.

***** i do not think this, i know this from years of experience. the topic of this video is impatience and how impatience can be involved with causality of symptoms. the pressure on self to stop the symptoms can be (unconsciously) lacking in compassion for the parts of self that are ailing. i have lived this and learned the hard way.
the depression and anxiety are all part and parcel of being unconscious as to the true causes of dysfunction. it is empowering to learn that we have been causing our own problems and once we safely process the backlog of anger and other emotions that we have generated and not expressed, we can make the called for changes and find new balance.

Remember to take the time to remember to put on hearing protection before doing noisy events like doing the dishes. Less is more when avoiding tinnitus spikes!

That's exactly how mine started two months ago. Through impatience. I'm a writer and I'd been working VERY HARD for the last 13 years to achieve publication. Then last September an important magazine accepted a long piece of mine, but I was terrified that something would come across my way again, them changing their mind, etc. I waited EVERY single minute for my piece to be published, and while waiting I developed somatic tinnitus. Now I've been published thanks God.

Julian, I am going to be on anti-depressants now. I went to emergency rooms 5-6 times in two months.
They said I have clinical depression. Your videos are the only things helping me, I wanted to have children but I think God have some other plans for me. Depression related to tinnitus is sucking all my energy . It feels so unfair that I got this. I never been to night club in my life, I don’t smoke ,drink nothing and now this. I didn’t realize how unhappy I was. I hope these meds will help me.

I can relax and explore the sounds but after when I try to carry on with normal activities it soon stresses me . What do you think of this approach and why am I more stressed going about normal activities. Its been 2 yrs + now . Many thanks for all the videos and advice . Cheers

    hello
I've had tinnitus since November 2016. I get good days and really horrible days. my biggest fear is when I enter my house or any place with complete silence. is it normal for me to have sound masker 24 hours a day at home. I never turn it off. I'll hear my tinnitus and it will stress me out with no masker. should I continue with my sound machine on all the time??

    • @elenasalisbury8282
      @elenasalisbury8282 Před 2 lety

Let's try this when you get into a quit room instead of sound machine. . First notice four things around you. Two things near you, one far away and one close to you. Do the same things with the sounds. What do you hear? Your own tinnitus sound, the sound of the car outside , a sound of the TV , a sound of a child's voice. ( just an example). Goal is to take the focus off of the sound in your head. Next thing let's work on breathing: Take a deep breath for 4 counts, hold for 7 and release slowly for 8 counts. Repeat 3 times .It will help. Also add Tai chi ( 5 min , search yo tube). Learn to move slowly and learn to breath. I have had tinnitus for 5 years. I no longer use a sound machine (only when I have a spike I will use it a little bit. ) As soon as I hear the sound of my tinnitus I remind myslef it is just a sound, just like any other sound and I do not afraid anymore. Hugs
