Lady P and the Sex Work Sisterhood - BBC Africa Eye documentary

  • Africa Eye investigates an unsolved murder of a sex worker in Sierra Leone and uncovers a world where women who sell sex are often abused, attacked, trafficked, and even killed.
In the city of Makeni, a group of sex workers, led by a woman called Lady P, are on a mission to fight for justice and to improve their rights. Although sex work is not illegal in the country, these women are seen as immoral outcasts and receive little support from the government or society. And as Tyson Conteh reports, their survival has been made even more precarious since the coronavirus pandemic.

Its not a good teaching and moral in the bible that: only u have to believe in god and your sins will be forgiven and you could go to heaven. For many “evil” people its an excuse and escape from taking reaponsibility. They just have to regret their sins - then its fine.
Bad message. Also, Bible is full of cruelty and suppression of women - Jesus must have been a good guy - but other than that, think about things like: raped women cannot have abortion due to strict religious dogmas in these miserable African places. Very not “godly”

      Nonetheless,
We have to remember all the luxury we purchased in the west, derived through African resources..
So this makes all of us in the west, just as responsible for the Africans suffering...
Each time you have a baby in the western countries... It will cost Africa hugely, in more resources being stolen and transported to support Western addiction and greed.
In the UK child maintenance cost is approximately twenty thousand pounds per year *(£20,000)* until the age of eighteen years *(18)*
      The maths...
      *18 multiplied by 20,000 =?🤔🍳?* ®
Cost per year you raising one child in the uk, is equivalent to the cost of raising *ten thousand* children in Africa..
Remember: When you raise one child in the UK, you destroy *ten thousand children* in Africa and other nations..
The child maintenance cost per year include :
      Health & Hygiene ££
      Housing & taxes ££
      Food & nutrition ££
      Clothing & Bedding ££
      School & learning ££
      Recreation & activities ££
      Entertainment & sport ££
      HOBBIES & Interest ££
      Utilities & Maintenance ££
      Transport & Travel ££
      Protection & security ££
This figure is estimated at a minimum cost of twenty thousand pounds per year *(£20,000)* twenty thousand US dollars converted equates to £16,000 *($20,000)*
Some of the White Neighbours to where I live, have never worked, while some have, but still claim all the benefits.
Specific identities of these types of Feral type families : their spouses work, while the families claim benefits fraudulently, while the women continue stealing from people? 🤔
One of the family is also a refugee working illegally.
How much evilness or insanity would people have to, inorder to exist this way, I wonder?

The police don’t know the law fully because they don’t go to law school lol, in the United States they have the Assistant District Attorneys/Commonwealth Attorneys also known as prosecutors to call and ask if they don’t know the law, or they search the crimes code.

  • @bbjjbb61
    @bbjjbb61 Před 3 lety +18

It's heartbreaking to me. I've been incredibly close to doing something like this but I sold drugs instead. There comes a time when you run out of "decent" choices and all your choices are bad. Most humans have a strong will to survive and when children are added into the mix you don't have the luxury of not doing everything in your power to protect and care for them. In America, there are still quite a bit of resources available. These women literally have nowhere to turn. There is no human services, no government offering the basic minimum one needs to survive. I won't claim to know the ins and outs but I do know every human (except for r*pists, child molesters, and murderers) especially children, deserve a safe home, a full belly, and people who love them more than themselves. People who don't even try to understand all the ways people end up in this position are ignorant.

You are absolutely right. When there's no options, people make them. I wish that all governments provided assistance like first world countries, but in this case, even regulation of sex work would be better than nothing

    • @mse5739

Unfortunately there are a lot more rapists and abusers aming us than you would think.
I also come from a relatively ok country from Europe but almost every woman who i know was raped/threatened/abused/beaten up by their own ex-partners or fathers … and they came from normal class families - not from the streets.
Its a deeper problem than that namely that there are some bad people doing bad stuff. Because it happens in a lot of families - but its even more hidden than these sex trafficing groups’ acts
