    I think SN and SC can be easily confused, yet, totally different essence. When in doubt, look at the vibe. SC has a somewhat calm and refined nature, SN is more like the "(pretty) girl next door type". Think Naomi Watts (SC) vs. Katy Perry (SN)- totally different story. I also agree that SC, SN and FG can be the same height.

    • @PrincessRamsha999
      @PrincessRamsha999 Před 2 lety +16

      The hair is such an important test! The tousled curtain bangs Dakota Johnson (SC) had going in the first Fifty Shades movie made her look positively frumpy, as opposed to Katy Perry (SN) who, I think, rocks messy curtain bangs rather than those pin straight ones she used to do. And of course, an FG like Emma Watson will shine in shorter hairstyles.

    • @user-ul6cs1ln6q
      @user-ul6cs1ln6q Před 2 lety +4

      With this hair test I realised that maybe Elizabeth Olsen is a Soft Classic but I’m not sure yet. I think she looks better with symmetrical lines and clear forehead than with curtain bangs (although she is truly beautiful ❤️). Her body looks balanced to me, and she doesn’t have a Soft Natural type of width (or frame), it is more like moderately romantic.
      But I’m not sure, what do you think?

    • @alicegrace8476
      @alicegrace8476 Před 2 lety +2

      @@user-ul6cs1ln6q I'd go for Classic rather than Soft Classic with Elisabeth Olsen, simply because she looks better with straight hair than with curls. Also she lacks the fleshiness and is a bit more angular. Her twin sisters I would say Soft Gamine.

    • @PrincessRamsha999
      @PrincessRamsha999 Před 2 lety +5

      @@user-ul6cs1ln6q I don't know if it's as simple as straight v. curly on classics v. natural. Grace Kelly (C), for example, had curls, but they were neat and so suited her. Jennifer Aniston (N) had straight hair as Rachel Green, but it was kind of relaxed and messy, so it suited her as well.
      Personally I thought Elizabeth pulled off the relaxed waves from the WandaVision finale much better than the pin-straight hair she had in the 70s time period - straight hair makes her face look really round. My favourite hair/makeup look from her is the one she wore to Jimmy Kimmel in 2018 with the Avengers cast - it was textbook SN, a deep V-neck mini dress with this loose hairstyle somewhere between a bun and a ponytail. She definitely has a strong yin undercurrent, but she shines in SN lines to me.
      I find the width test really confusing. Selena Gomez, often typed N, does not seem particularly wide or strong to me at all! And Jessica Chastain, often typed SC, looks quite blunt and broad in pictures. Since it is a body typing that is meant to guide your personal style, it's good to see what lines people wear best, right? :)

      @@di3486 imo a wide upper body doesn't seem that much like SX and more like SN, because soft classics tend to be more evenly proportioned and have rounder edges. A wide upper body with a short waist seems to be too "extreme" or "strong" for it to be SC. Just my opinion

    It would be very helpful if you included more women of color in your examples. It becomes difficult to discern Kibbe types for women of color like myself, who often have fuller facial features and assets. I have seen others point this out before, and I think it is something that should be adjusted. Otherwise, great video.

    I think it's very hard to women to type themselves when we don't all workout or have the best healthiest routines etc. Some of us are under/ overweight. Lumps and bumps or untoned. The celebrities are often underweight, and at least very fit and in good shape. We look at them and we can't all ourselves. I know type is supposed to be bone structure and isn't supposed to change with weight, but i can't wear the same type of clothes I could when I was underweight. Those lines just don't sit the same and I went from a narrow stick to a pear shape. I still find these videos interesting even though I don't know my type. I can just see why so many women get confused when looking at fit celebs and not seeing the same in the mirror.

      @Ria that's a very good idea actually! Something to ponder. I still don't know my type but my hair sits best when it's loose and tousled, definitely not rigid or overly ornate. But natural clothing drowns me so I can't wear natural.

      Emily Blunt is lacking muscule-dominant structure to be considered a natural. She looks too moderate and definetely doesn't look broader than Anne Hathaway (it depends on the picture, but in more organic settings, meaning not red carpet/stage, you can tell the difference). Rather, Anne has an unusually narrow-smallish face for a FN imo (still you can see her face muscles as in "by the book" naturals).

      3) Arms: Emily’s arms seem wider because of flesh, not because of wide bones. Her arms are round and fleshy due to yin undercurrent.

    Finally, after seeing soft classic and soft natural compared side by side - I now know I am a soft classic! I don't have the broad and square'ish bone structure to be a natural. I believe I will have the same result if I analyze my face as well.
    UPDATE: 5 days later... I'm actually having a hard time between dramatic classic or soft classic. In your examples, I am a a pretty clear soft classic... but in other examples I've seen, I might not be fleshy and soft enough for soft classic.

      @@ellatheellaphant Girl, when I say I still second guess. I know for a fact that I'm either SC, DC (least likely) or SN.
      But I look at the shape of my body. Overall SN isn't proportional. They create a T with their body and lot of their weight/density comes from their jaw and/or shoulders... which gives them the sporty look. Something about a SN seems heavier than a classic. I have a very soft jaw and shoulders that slope before tapering... and my bones don't seem heavy or dense. It's easier for me to tell the difference when the body types are in their bathing suits. Even still, it is so difficult!
      My final test was to looking at pictures where I did my hair, makeup, outfit in SC vs. SN styles. I noticed that my natural features and beauty were more brought to life with classic style choices, whereas natural style choices made me look a bit underdone. All in all, I wouldn't be surprised if I were typed either way despite all of this! And classics are rare in general, so it makes me insecure that I might not be typing myself correctly.

    This is so hard lol I guess I'll need to start photo comparing to scale like she suggests in a different video. I was debating if I was SN or SC, and I'm definitely leaning towards SN now. My face doesn't have that super even balance like C/SCs have, and in general all my features are broader. Even at a low healthy weight I've always thought I looked a bit chubby because of that width combined with softness in all my features. It's only looking back in pictures I've realized how thin I really have been.

    I have an idea. Could you do a comparison of each type with the other BUT maybe add some deal breakers? For example a soft classic without doubt can handle a shift dress. If you can’t you’re likely another curve dominant type etc. (I just made that up). But is that possible?

    Interesting that soft classic can be short waisted. One of those “know it all” here in one your videos was saying that was impossible for a classic (of course that makes no sense) I am short waisted and 5’ 2” but my shoulders and upper back quite wide so I feel I am between SC and SN.

    OUT OF TOPIC BUT I NEED ADVICE FOR BANGSSS! I saw your old video about bangs and it was helpful, but the thing is have very frizzy and thick hair. My hair is a bit over my breast. I have a oval shaped face, and as well defined jawline. I really want to cut bangs since my forehead got bigger ever since i started pulling it back. I used to have such small forehead. its not hugeee but it just doesn't look right on me. I can put four of my fingers on my forehead. I haven't cut my bangs ever since i was 8, I am 14 now and I don't know what bangs I should get. when I used to cut my bangs they would be so straight, maybe because it was short, it was till my eyebrows. I know my bangs wont be soo frizzy and volumized compared to my hair, I do not know if that will suit the rest of my hair honestly, so thats mostly why I don't know which to choose!!!! I don't want to look like I am a child as well... so please help!!!!!

  • @lousyfuckingratboy4219

    i've always wondered about the two combination types - classic and gamine - how they can have a dramatic and a romantic version but not a natural version? surely someone who was mostly classic but with a larger, wider, more blunt bone structure and whose flesh tended a little more athletic would be a natural classic as opposed to a dramatic classic? idk i think that's how i would categorise my mum. I suppose natural is a combined type too, if classic is an even blend and gamine is a contrasting mixture, i guess natural is just everything at once? irregularity without contrast - long wide and blended, making that blunt angled affect? i guess a "natural classic" would be a bit of a contradiction in line recommendations.. a "natural gamine" seems to be what a lot of theatrical gamines are, with their boxy width.. which would free up a more dramatic gamine option for people like taylor swift and zendaya that are always argued as either dramatic or gamine...

    Both Dakota Johnson and Emily Blunt are 5'7". Soft classic is described as up to 5'.5". I am 5.'71/5" tall and kept coming back to soft classic because my shoulders seem to have a more rounded slope and I don't have wide hands or feet, more small and narrow. I wear 7.5 shoe and for my height that's pretty small, I've always wore the same size as all my friends who are usually 5.4-5.5. I think realizing that these two women who are considered soft classic don't fit the actual height description is helpful because I've been so confused. lol btw.. is it possible to still be a soft classic with a larger nose??? If my nose was smaller I just keep thinking it would be so easy to decide. I don't have a small pretty petite nose. My nose is more sharp but I don't think the rest of my face is sharp.
