You Might be a Soft Classic | the soft & balanced body type

  • Hello stylers! Today I deep dive into the wardrobe of the Soft Classic! This is my Kibbe type so I thought it would be a good place to start. Classics are yin/yang balanced which means their features are not noticeably soft nor sharp. Soft Classics have a Romantic undercurrent so they lean slightly on the softer side of moderation. Welcome to the Goldilock's porridge of Kibbe types.
    This video is perfect if you want to understand the body types in more depth and know how to dress for each one. In this video I show you some outfit examples which would be perfect for a Soft Classic.

    Could you do an updated Soft Classic video? I know a year isn't that long ago, but I feel like I've watched you grow and learn so much and I feel like you could have more to say and add about this, especially since this is your own type. I'm a soft classic too, so I'd really appreciate it! Just an idea, no pressure of course 😅

    I'm a very classic. I'm soft classic and there is no pure classic anymore but I also have a classic essence. People always say I look studious, smart, elite, elegant, etc. I have a hard time experimenting as everything can easily look like too costumy. I hope to see more classics on youtube and more info as we are bombarded with naturals

    Yaaayy! Love soft classic creators and content! As someone who is overweight, I find it a little more difficult to ID my body (I often go back and forth btwn soft classic and soft natural). The things that make me lean more towards soft classic is something I notice when doing my makeup. I find it so hard to pull off a bold eye look + nude lip and/or a bold lip + minimal eye look. It always has to be the same intensity for me or else the look seems incomplete :)

    • @throughcolouredglasses9300
      @throughcolouredglasses9300 Pƙed rokem +6

      Oooh dude I'm overweight too which is why I've struggled to type myself for months, but I found this video so helpful bc she pointed out what features make her NOT be another type. I found this way more helpful than going down the list of what what features you "should" have to be whatever type. I think I'm soft natural now, after assuming I'm FN for a few months but being continually unhappy with how boxy oversize tops make me look like I'm wearing a potato sack. All other features fit, wide necklines or V necks look great, long A-line skirts, wide leg fabric pants, etc. It clicked when in the video she mentioned all these features i share, but then said "the reason I'm not SN is because i lack width in my ribcage" and I was like !!!! I have width in my ribcage!!

    It's exciting to find comprehensive info on soft classic styles! I feel like the classic body type and essence both get neglected. You had so many thoughts I'd never considered before, including how tweaking one minor element looks more noticeable on classics. It also made me feel better about how many things have looked sloppy on me in my life no matter how hard I tried to look nice.

  • @NadiaBarlow
    @NadiaBarlow Pƙed 2 lety +25

    Omg I think I just figured it out! I thought I was a theatrical romantic from the quiz too, and also because I've always been told I'm soft and delicate. I've also never considered myself to be particularly 'balanced'. In fact, when I saw the classic example as Grace Kelly I automatically disregarded it! But after your breakdown I see it now. I have very similar body shape to you. It also explains why sometimes when I wear something simple people have told me I look amazing - while I thought it was a bit plain. I also intuitively learnt to play with the contrasts and add different elements to maintain the balance, like you said, now I understand why it works. Thank you for this illuminating video!!

    I also find it interesting too how longer A-line skirts seem to completely camouflage my frame while also being very distracting! Skirts that end mid-calf with less fabric/ a softer drape, are most flattering. I can also quickly feel frumpy in a dress without shape and boxy styles. I am just absolutely flabbergasted at how much I can completely relate to everything you are saying about being a soft classic. I am just now learning about the Kibbie body types and it seems that I am right here with you as a soft classic. I often find myself going for curvy fit jeans, easily feeling too sexy in dresses or easily lost in figure, and looking rather odd in Sharp edgy pieces and many prints. I want to inject color and interest into my style. I love that you do that! I really look forward to watching more, thank you so much for sharing!

I have all the features of long limbs, curve in the hips that looks like yours and comes from the bone, head moderate, etc. But I definetely have a wide ribcage and wide shoulders!
    I thought I was FN before because of the wide shoulders and being tall-ish (172cm / 5'7"), but it never seemed to quite fit because some clothing gives me rounder hips and my face is very round and soft. Also half the suggested clothing for FN made me feel bad, especially wide flowy shirts tucked in at the waist.

  • @kookoonutchim3538
    @kookoonutchim3538 Pƙed rokem +2

    After switching between sn, sg and the classic family. I finally settled with classic/soft classic (as pure classic isn't really part of kibbe anymore?) I found out symmetrical clothes with minimal details works best for me, monochromatic look also works but there should be waist emphasis, it's better if they fit not oversized or bulky, and the fabric shouldn't be too heavy or light. Since I have an ingenue essence a very corporal look also doesn't work so I have to add little bit of pretty little things so it. After so long, I can finally settle with sc, not that it's definitely my kibbe type since I didn't do an official consultation, but because it's the only thing that really works compared to other body types.

    I, like so many others, would love a comparison between theatrical romantic and soft classic. According to the quiz I’m a theatrical romantic but I’m having a hard time recognising the physical difference between the soft classic and theatrical romantic. What does moderate even mean? 😅
    The only thing that makes me think I’m probably a theatrical romantic is that some of what you’re wearing in this video is too heavy for my body. I look like I’m drowning in a coat like that pink one, and the straight jeans (which look amaaazing on you!!) would look bulky on me. As does leather jackets. The soft wrap top would work quite nicely though, especially if the sleeves were a bit shorter and showed off my wrists.

      I'm 100% on the same page with you! There's lots of similarities I see (especially her height and mine are the same), but straight leg jeans look so bad on me, that coat would make me look like I'm wearing my mom's coat, and leather jackets look very...bold on me. I'd personally love a soft classic v theatrical romantic v soft gamine comparison.

      Same here. My body shape is slightly different, I have bonier or sharper top especially when I lose weight, but my hips are wider, There is 30cm difference between my waist and my hips. Clean sharp and unbroken lines are better suited me with minimal accessories required, yet I’m petite. I want to say I’m dramatic but I don’t have the height, I don’t believe I’m classic because I’m not balanced. I don’t think I’m TR because I can’t wear round shape or soft fabric that often look good on TR.

    What would you say are the main differences in terms of body characteristics and clothing between SN and SC? From what I’ve seen there are many overlaps between the two, like waist emphasis or flowy lines for example, and looking at photos of both IDs I just find them very similar in general. I find it so confusing D:
    Love your videos, keep it up

    This might be a weird question, but do perfumes matter based off of your body type? For example, I am a soft classic with a romantic essence. Does that mean I should choose elegant and romantic perfumes, or does it not matter?

    I have done the test several times and had people give their opinion (like my family). I got mostly C’s in the bone structure part of the test but D & E dominant answers in the other 2 parts of the test. I have longer arms but VERY short legs. But all of these things say that your arms and legs should be longer but I don’t. I’m so confused on all this. Would you think I’m a soft classic with these answers? I have 4C’s in the first section, and 4 D’s in the last section, with 3 E’s in the middle section of the test.

    This is a useful video. However, after days of researching and taking multiple quizzes. I always end up with Soft Classic. This seems to make sense as I have a slight curve, balanced bust, waist and hips as well as soft flesh. But most soft classics I find have moderate to longer limbs while my limbs are relatively short, my shoulders are very narrow, rounded and sloped. This has me so confused! Can you give me some advice?

    hi idk if you're gonna see this comment but after watching your videos all these times, I just now found out that I am actually soft classic.
    I've I watched your style roots videos, and my style roots are flower, mushroom, and I think sun because I love to wear a lot of fun colours, sometimes fun patterns, fun jewelry.
    so my question is how me as a SC accomodate my sun style roots? because SC looks so great in minimal details and clean lines

    Hi can someone help me because I cannot figure out for the life of me what I am, I took the test and it says I'm a soft classic (I got mostly c answers for bone structures but mostly E answers for body flesh and Facial Features) I agree that crazy detail doesn't look good on me but I have prominant facial features and a very sinch waist. This made me think I was more a pure romantic but I have large hands and the detail thing. And I think I have a romantic essence. Basically I'm driving myself crazy.
