      @@jesusramirezromo2037 The Friday The 13th remake was not a great film but it was a decent 2000's slasher film. The only bad thing about it was how the characters were written. They were cookie-cutter slimeballs waiting to get the stab, most(if not all) Blumhouse films have decent characters and a well written plot except the likes of(Happy Death Day, Truth or Dare, Fantasy Island, Ouija, The Exeter, Area 51, The Darkness).

    • @KaleidosXXI
      @KaleidosXXI Před 3 lety +5

      @@Gideon13397 The 2000's are widely regarded as the low point in slasher history, so that's not a very good standard to try and meet, and honestly it was bad even by those standards.
      Uninspired kills, continuing the least liked Jason design, a cast comprised of completely forgettable and unlikable meat bags that only exist to get killed (we're also stuck with them for the movie), bad effects, a complete non-plot, and an ending that just happens because apparently the movie got bored and decided to cut to credits even though the active conflict is literally ongoing and nothing whatsoever has been resolved.
      The opening credits could've literally been the ending credits and nothing would've changed besides the body count, in no way is that a decent slasher film from any era.

      The Tunnels is where he stays to be hidden and to hear his traps (Like the bell to suggest where somebody is at and get around the campground unseen)
      And all the 1 lady in the town said is "When people go missing they don't turn up" (So logic would dictate that person is dead but she was blunt about it) And the cop suggested the girl and her boyfriend ran away.
      2 out of 3 of these I don't know where you got that lol.
      I kind of agree that the tunnels make it a "How the hell did you make all of this?" Issue but we get a time skip from 1980-2009... Thats alot of time for alot of digging lol. (Since they established it has been abandoned since.)

      @grantmoore8228 Před 4 lety +2

      Trust me when I say I'm by no means a major Friday the 13th fan but I think why some people hate this movie is because it's too generic. Yeah a lot of the same things happen in the other movies but the other movies had a girl with psychic powers, a copycat killer, a trip to New York, Jason possessing people who eat his heart and going to outer space. Those things weren't always good but they did try to change the formula up from movie to movie. This remake however is straight up as standard a Friday the 13th film you can find. I guess it goes back to the classic mantra "if you aren't going to do anything new with a movie then why remake it at all?"

    • @vistea1
      @vistea1 Před 4 lety +2

      What Grant pretty much said. The sequels for Friday the 13th at least would do a gimmick to differentiate themselves from the first couple movies like part 3 being 3-D, or a new person becomes Jason in Part 5. This one is just Jason stabbing people with his machete in the woods like parts 1 and 2.

You cannot hunt people who end up on your property , under these circumstances Jason would be charged with murder .

Pit Slasher Killer Immortality vs Main Character Shields as the boys struggle to keep a cast of likable supporting characters (gasp) alive against the rampaging monster, only with a much bigger budge, time for actual fight choreography, and trademarked baddies. =D

Not sure if I should call that bad parenting or bad management on the theaters part.

  • @TheRealNormanBates

    I have to agree: Trent kind of ruined this film (though his girly scream when he died almost made it worth it), but the hyper stylized look didn’t help either.
    Look, I love BLADE RUNNER as much as any art film aficionado (unless you’re name is Susan), but you still have to “see” what you’re looking at. When everything is dark, contrasty and selectively lighted, it just wears you out after a while.
    The lack of nudity didn’t help either (though that scene (at 15:44) in the bathroom still makes me laugh. The girl goes in, and the window sill is open maybe 6 inches with knickknacks on the sill... yet _somehow_ Jason got through it _and_ hid in the shower. I wished you showed that whole scene, Brad, as it’s actually kinda hilarious)

    The character Trent in this film is not only the same actor who played a similarly named character in _Transformers_ (he was Mikaela's boyfriend who she dumps at the beginning), but there's a theory that it's actually the same character because this was a Michael Bay production.
    That sounds understandably stupid, but let's be honest. In a film this bad, I wouldn't mind an Autobot or Decepticon to show up and start hacking away at these people.
