Actually, that is not what happened in Halloween II. Loomis mistakenly goes after Ben Tramer, who happens to be dressed in a similar costume as the Shape, and Ben Tramer is hit and killed by a speeding police car. For a while in the film the police speculate that the young man killed indeed had been Michael Myers, but Loomis insists that they check the body just to be sure. As it turns out, it is the corpse of Ben Cramer, not the Shape, and so Ben Tramer could not have been the murderer in the subsequent Halloween films.

That would explain the over-the-top nature of this film.

Yeah this was one of the first of the "Friday the 13th" movies I did catch on HBO once, but it also became the first of the Friday the 13th movies I rented when I was allowed to rent them. While I didn't like the prospect of Jason not being the killer, I do think its cool to see this movie getting more fans ala "Halloween 3". Kinda interesting how these two movies parallel to one another, in that each installment wanted to go into a different direction, but failed with the public. If I were to watch this installment again, I would view it more a a stand alone movie that just has the misfortune of having "Part V" in the title. Basically I'd consider it the "Halloween 3" of the franchise.

Easily my favorite of the series. I thought Part 5 was genuinely suspenseful with its "It's not Jason but it's SOMEONE" plot rather than killing off most of the cast unaware before someone says "Oh, its Jason!"

Even though Jason Lives is my favorite Jason film, I don't hate this film. I think Corey Feldman said it best in the Crystal Lake Memories documentary when he said that he personally liked that it wasn't Jason, and that where the film fucked up was coming up with a scenario where Tommy wasn't the killer. It's really only the last act reveal that the killer is dressed like Jason that loses me (even if I kinda like the blue mask and like paying the Pinehurst map in the game). That being said, this is no Halloween III (obviously)!

This was their Halloween 3 to go in a different direction but nobody wanted it. Still, you get some good kills and it still feels like a Friday the 13th movie. The twist? Eh, they didn't do their best to hide it...all because of a chocolate bar, I'm surprised the guy who murdered him didn't get killed. His dad should have gone after him.

I don't remember where on earth I read this but I remember there being an actual backstory for Joey and Roy. Supposedly Roy was embarrassed of Joey so he put him in that halfway house because of how he was. Then when he learned of Joey's death, he felt intense guilt and regret. I can't remember where I read this though

About Roy tanking the blows even though he's not supposed to be Jason. Bare in mind many people called BS on Pamela Voorhees, a mortal old lady, being able to through a guy's corpse through a window. Yet the idea seems to stem on the old wives' tale of being able to have super strength while going crazy. Hell, to prove she could throw someone, you see her throw Alice across the room. Roy must have the same power.

Funny story.... I heard Pseudo Echo's Living In A Dream when I was very young and really liked it, then I heard their remake of Funky Town and really liked that too... I always thought Violet's dancing to this song here was so odd but I liked the song she was dancing to.... Which just happens to be His Eyes by Pseudo Echo. One day a few years later I was watching this movie again all the way through the credits and I was like, "Pseudo Echo.... Why does that name sound so familiar???? Holy shit! They did Living In A Dream!" Went out the next day to a local music store and found their cassette tape and then found a few more of them later and have been a fan for basically the last 35 years!
