      Not at all! Doug and his brother are more than a little lazy when it comes to writing and actual criticism. Unfortunately, Doug also seems to be swayed by whatever the “internet’s” popular opinions are, and might not have the depth of film knowledge that Brad does.
      Brads videos are both very well written and very funny; perhaps more importantly, his opinions come from a knowledge of film and are unique. He’s comfortable enough with himself that he’ll even joke about the internet’s opinion or stand by a less popular reading of a movie if he believes that reading exists and needs to be told.
      Brad simply tries harder, and creates more rewarding content. He also doesn’t seem like a neck-bearded jerk... I can’t say the same for... other internet reviewers

And at end of the movie we have one the saddest scene in the entire franchise. Is when Sheriff Brackett see his daughter dead in the bathroom ( R.I.P Jamie ). You'd think Rob Zombie would have covered his face in scars and cigarette burns. Or run with the general theme of him being an unfeeling, unstoppable juggernaut and have entire flaps of skin missing and exposed bone. Or, sure, make him Hagrid from Harry Potter, whatever.

      Isn't the whole point of Michael Myers being that he looks perfectly normal on the outside, but is actually a hollow shape without a soul? Hence why he wears an emotionless replica of the face of an actor known for his hamminess? In the 1978 original, when they remove his clown mask at the beginning, he looks like a perfectly normal middle class kid.
      So having him look like Freddy or Jason would kind of defeat the point, no?

    • @billjacobs521
      @billjacobs521 Před 5 lety +2

      They didn't show adult Michael until, what, H5 I think, and even that was brief and in the dark. He has an obsession with covering his face and has "The blackest eyes, the devil's eyes"--those are really the only identifying features of Michael, physically. Either his face shouldn't be shown, since he has always kept covered, or at least he should look...unsettling. Something about his look should be kinda Uncanny Valley, somehow inhuman--a beard does not do that. No, I don't want him to look like Jason under the mask, that was just comedic, but he should be the terrifying boogeyman, not a drunken hobo.

And in this universe, he was a freak even as a little kid. Actually, as a kid in the 2007 version, he did look creepy, even if the actor was trying too hard. I think Zombie’s movies are the worst Halloween movies because they’re joyless, mean, gross, and kind of irritating. The other Halloween movies usually had something redeeming about them. Zombie wrote the biggest group of unlikeable characters outside of Annie and her dad. Everyone else was annoying and horrid. The plot of part 2 is laughably bad and pointless to put it lightly. Yes, Busta Rhymes doing king fu to Michael Myers is ridiculous, but it’s funny and memorable. I can’t say anything is either of those things for Zombie’s films. The only memorable thing about them is how unmemorable they are.

      When it came to Friday the 13th, he was already making H2 (since it made money, it was same deal as with the first one: "it's either you or someone else") and the critical reception of his first Halloween movie wasn't really great so I doubt Platinum Dunes would want him in the director's chair.

    When that dude was yelling at Michael that he’d told him he was gonna beat the fuck out of him if he caught him on his land again, and snob said “This had happened before?!”, that shit cracked me up. And on a really awful day when I’d been feeling really hopeless. Made my day, Cinema Snob! Thank you! 👍🏻❤️

    Malcolm McDowel needs to be in more things, just generally. I saw a documentary that described him in passing as someone “whose pretty-boy looks faded and led to him making a living off direct-to-video villain roles” and I’ll be damned if that bad take becomes his predominant legacy in the public mind.

    Did Rob Zombie write any actual dialogue for Scout Taylor Compton? Cause all I hear is helium pitch wailing and screaming.

    I can only imagine what would have happened had Rob made a Halloween III remake. Maybe the Silver Shamrock jingle would be made up entirely of swears?

      It would just be them swearing and instead of tuning into bugs and snakes they turn into Rob Zombie characters

    Wow loomis is looking pretty good for a man who had his head crushed in. That was impressive plastic surgery. Almost as impressive as orginal lumas being brought back from being burned to death.

      original loomis had the SCAR in 4 and 5 to show how he totally survived that totally survivable explosion.

    One of the worst parts in this movie is that Micheal screams like he's angry when he kills someone. It doesn't understand micheal. He doesn't kill because he's angry. He doesn't feel emotion. That's well established in the original 78 film. He's like a blank slate. There's no Malice in his motivation. No forethought in his actions. He's like a force of nature. Taking life is his one and only instinct.
