      I wasn’t saying so much on this video about you (but not ruling it out from your past videos) but referring to Twintroller owners that give there videos out. What I’m saying is, it isn’t necessary to have background music when we are trying to listen to informative information. It’s a distraction to the cause of the videos. I hope this helps! 👍

      Gary, good point. I agree. That is why I removed the music when I am talking and trying to explain something, except for in my introduction and conclusion. When I am just fishing I will still probably have music in the background. Gerry

    I had a old set of those navigation lights (they used "D" cells), my front nav light broke & after super gluing it many times, I finally ordered a set of stick on "Bow LED 12" Submersible Red Green Navigation Light Waterproof Marine Boat" from EBay for less than $2 US, they have worked great for the last 2 years & haven't blown the 1/2 Amp fuse!

    Excellent excellent video Steve! Thanks for sharing with Gerry and Gerry Hanks for sharing with us. Looking forward to watching again once I get my Twin Troller. But really looking forward to the trailer video as I’m sure it will be just as good if not better and possibly cheaper than that which comes with the TT. Was planning on getting the Honda motor but certainly will get the Mercury now, love Mercury products!

      Bob, Steve does a nice job on his trailer in Part 2. It certainly is another option that some can consider as a way to move their TT around.
      I have no experience with another motor, I have the Honda. I am curious how much of a difference the Mercury would be over what I have. Gerry

    Great video. Thanks for posting. You should consider keeping a big sponge in the boat rather than that cup. It would clean out those rod holder cups quickly, and could also be used for wiping down or drying other areas. A good chamois would work similarly. Although it’s hard to drink coffee from a sponge. ;-)

    Twin Troller Pop Culture Fact: Did you know Steve's boat (the one in this video) used to be David's boat? Steve's boat IS the boat on the cover of the Twin Troller manual and IS the boat in the Twin Troller model videos. Steve's boat is a bit of a celebrity and it couldn't have gone to a better guy.

      @@howabouthetruth2157 Hey Steve, i just figured you were out chasing Big Largies! 😀 Thanks for taking the time to respond back. Im sure i will have other concerns, before getting my boat. This past year, i been fishing out of a Sun Dolphin Sportsman, the 8 footer. My fish finder is a Humminbird Helix 5 SI GPS G2. Has Side, Down, and 2D imaging. It also has a mapping feature. The lake I predominantly fish, is a 30 acre lake, that has no current mapping, and i basically have that lake to myself! The mount that i have for it, I got from www.fishfindermounts.com
      Its a mounting system that has its own battery! The system is also completely portable! Its on the expensive side, but build quality is outstanding! Everything thats needed to mount, is included, including zip-ties! Im very happy with it. I may get a 2nd battery, just to have incase i do fish larger lakes, but i will only need one for the majority of the lakes i will fish. So the trolling motors and the bilge pump will be the only items that will be connected to the main battery.
      What make of bilge pump do you have?

    Question for you Steve and Gerry,
    On-board charger. Do you guys have the one that comes with the TTX10, or did you go buy a different one?

    • @LunkerFishing
      @LunkerFishing  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi Peter, the original charger for the Twin Troller worked great until one day it no longer charged at all and showed no signs of life. I then installed another new one that has also worked flawlessly. You can see an entire video I did on that subject at czcams.com/video/9OUDpis93Bc/video.html There is one thing about that new charger that I do not like, The power cord is too long. I prefer it was shorter as was the original that came with my boat. I have to store the long power cord on the TT when it is not in use and that is not what I prefer.
      The new one was purchased from Amazon. If you are asking you must be having problems with yours? Gerry

    • @peterlong9629

      @@LunkerFishing No problems with it. I haven't ordered my boat yet. 🤣 Its like a blizzard here this morning. Im in no hurry. Just trying to get everything i need before i order. • @LunkerFishing
      @LunkerFishing  Před 5 lety +1

    Great job guys!
    Whats the maximum horsepower rating for a gas engine on a TTX10?

    • @LunkerFishing
      @LunkerFishing  Před 5 lety +1

      Pete, the Coast Guard rating tag on the Twin Troller says a weight rating with a 2 H.P. motor so I am not sure what Freedom Electric Marine says is the maximum horsepower motor. Since you are only going to put a relatively small outboard on the Twin Troller I would be more concerned about the total (560 lbs.) weight of persons, motor, and gear together. The Honda 2.3 HP only weighs 30 pounds when empty. If someone is looking at the TT to be able to fly across the lake, or to water ski behind, they are looking at the wrong boat! I guess I do not have a good answer for your question though. Gerry

      Lunker012 Jerry this is Steve from Illinois I talk to the conservation officer he said if I put a 3.5 on my TWIN TROLLERx10 and it’s only rated for 2 I will get a fine

    • @LunkerFishing
      @LunkerFishing  Před 5 lety

      Steve, the Honda 2.3 that is sold with the Twin Troller used to be a 2.0 Honda. I believe they started to measure the HP in another way and thus the 2.3 from then on. There may be other things they changed to take it from a 2.0 to a 2.3 that I am not aware of. If you take off the 2.3 and put on a 250 HO Yamaha, besides that it will sink, then an Officer would probably give you a citation , so I would not do that. Gerry

    i will look for part 2 now........so, after 22 months, if you were to buy now, what would you change ?

    • @LunkerFishing
      @LunkerFishing  Před 5 lety +2

      Gravediggermax, Interesting question.
      My TT came with the live well and I have yet to use it. I do not regret having it because I want to fish with live bait, just have not done so yet. It is a well designed live well. I fished for many years with live bait when guiding and have lots of tricks to doing that and I regret not doing it yet, but I will.
      My TT has two fish finders, one came with the boat (very basic) but it gives me voltage readings of the system battery so I would would not get rid of it and the second one I installed myself (see my video about it). I wish that one had a larger screen, I am getting to old to see that small screen. Side imaging would be nice also.
      I always wondered what another motor would be like but the advantages of the Honda are air cooled and very light weight so I am not sure if I would have changed that choice either.
      I am in the process of installing a mount for a second GoPro that will hopefully get some better shots. That install will be a video soon I hope.
      Now that I think about it there is not much I would change about the TT. All those changes are about things I added to the TT since I bought it.
      One thing I would definitely change, although it gave me a better appreciation for why I bought my Twin Troller. I used to own a Hobie Cat Pro Angler fishing kayak before the TT. That was a BIG mistake and I wish I never bothered to do that and found the Twin Troller X10 sooner so I did not make that entire mistake.
      Other than the ability to water ski behind the Twin Troller, there is nothing I would change about that purchase. Too many gators here to water ski anyway. Gerry

    What happens when waves come over the bow or transom?

    • @LunkerFishing
      @LunkerFishing  Před 5 lety

      Robert, not sure how to answer that. Like any other boat you will likely get wet. I added a bilge pump in case that happened and I needed to evacuate some water. The most I have ever had the bilge pump on is less than a minute and that was because of downpour. I try to watch the weather so I am not out in bad conditions but sometimes things happen. I have a video on installing my bilge pump. Gerry

      @@LunkerFishing Gerry, I wanted to email you but can't find your email address. Anyway, I've attempted to contact Freedom Electric no less than 3 times with this problem and still they have not gotten back to me. My port side power cable had to be replaced. I ordered and installed it but now have a new problem. After installing it as instructed, which was a simple process, I took it out to fish. I was very surprised to find that nowy port side foot pedal now works oppositeof starboard side. I connected everything as instructed, red to red and black to black, but now pushing down on pedal makes the boat go forward and pushing down on top of pedal makes it go backwards, opposite of starboard side pedal. What did I do wrong and is this bad for the motor? Would appreciate any help or suggestions you may have since FE won't return my inquiries. Thanks
