Main gear drag strut rigging

Rigging the main gear drag strut and down limit switch on a late model Bellanca Viking. This gear has the adjustable down spring. Early models with the fixed down spring have different settings.

Thanks for all the great info, Dave! Two questions: 1- does the reference string come off the top or bottom of the drag strut bolt heads? 2 - how do you know if the over center spring is weak? Thanks again!
