Less than 15 seconds in and a nerf war ensues. THIS IS THE QUALITY CONTENT I SIGNED UP FOR!
Damn straight!
bill and teds excellent prop making adventures
Such a great video Bill. Sorry I used all your black primer but then again you shot me twice with your gun.
Evil Ted Smith I reckon that's a fair trade off
HAHAA! That's fair. =D
keeping it real with that lonely feeling when you're in the shop. me too xD
ted why when you hear the sound of a cocking nerf gun do you not at least look round or run.???
Evil Ted Smith haha but you had it coming
Bill & ted's excellent adventure!
Yes!
best comment
Underrated comment, overrated movie
Don’t hate me pls
Fusion-bed
I love this build. The heat shield, the faux welds, the vent holes, the flash hider, the colors and wear. The carbon on the flash hider was the pièce de résistance. Super legit.
yes, more of the evil bill and ted show. EXCELLENT!!!
WOOHOO!
honey, where's my super glue? WHERE IS MY SUPER GLUE?!?!
quick tip: next time you mod a nerf gun, open it up and take out the internals so when you drill you don't accidentally break something. make sure you do that before anything
MoxAid exactly. Also: Nerf blaster, not gun, blaster.
right! i was cringing every time he did that
How in the world has CZcams not verified you yet? Whats it take? Come on CZcams!
+HappyAtom I didn't know CZcams did the whole "verification" thing.
Yes. You get the checkmark by your name. I think what speeds up the process is having your CZcams channel, Google+ and Website all pointing to each other.
I think you have to ask YT to have your channel verified.
Hi Adam! love your channel :)
If you want to be verified, you have to have more than 1,000 followers on Google Plus... Ugh.
I winced when he drilled directly into the blaster without taking it apart first. That's a fantastic way to break your blaster and render it inoperable. You got lucky, Bill.
+Mooser323 I live life on the edge!
Punished Props please live life a little further from the edge you're scaring us
Try taking a short piece of filament and chucking it into a rotary tool or small drill, then press it into the seam while spinning the filament. The friction melts the surfaces and welds them together. It works well and looks good with a little practice.
I kept thinking to myself, "Oh I wouldn't choose that color," or "Oh I wouldn't do it that way", but every time a new part came together or masking was removed, I was surprised and pleased by the affect. Wonderful prop I love it
Isn't that amazing? It takes a lot of time and practice to learn things that work and things that don't. Thanks so much for watching!
Sold for $680.00 ...clearly nerf gun painting is a lucrative business and my parents lied about college.
HA! Apparently!
Screw college make nerf guns I love it. I have a new aspiration in life LOL
neat
Fr? That's it. I'm about to start hustling pained nerf guns 😂
You guys are amazing to watch. Your projects are outstanding watching them come to life. It would be a dream come true to work with you guys on a project. Watching both of your channels and other DIY CZcamsrs have inspired me to work on my own creations and help others learn as well. Great video once again and look forward to more awesome tutorials in the future.
Fantastic!
Bill and Teds excellent propventure
The latex thing is so smart! Im definitely gonna use that sometime
Holy crap. This looks awesome.
Thanks!
Of course you picked my fav smg in Destiny 2! I'm so jelly!
is that antiope or atlanta? cant tell
This video was amazing!
Thanks! =D
I love you trying a bunch of different ways to keep things square then immediately say whoops as it goes wrong
I'm using a doublestrike to make a hand cannon styled like the destiny hand cannons (not based on a specific one) and it was supposed to be coherent but I messed up one of the seams on the worbla, and your idea for faux weld lines gave me an idea! I'm gonna make it look like it was scavenged from parts. I even bought some wire to make it look like the maker bypassed some circuitry.
TL:DR- you helped me work through a project
That's a great idea!
I disassembled mine to start planning an ace of spades or the last word thoughts on which one I should do
I like how the drunk'o'meter increases by the minute lol Awesome job guys!
This video has literally got me back into props
You guys are so amazing. I love all of your work. Greetings form Germany
+Ascalante80 Thanks!
Looks great Bill!!
Thanks!
The best 35 minutes of my life!
Woah, high praise! =D
Hey everybody! That sucker packs a wallop! xD
I love that you go back and forth with different styles of prop making, from mods to 3D printing and foam etc. Always a pleasure.
Loving the new Destiny too, out of curiosity are you on Xbox or PS4?
I try my best to keep my skill set diverse. PS4
You guys are awesome i love all the dope sruff you guys do. I looked through your guy's videos and noticed you dont have a video on plexiglass, could you do a video on it. I feel like it would be awsome to see professionals do it right
13:13 Glenn Miller as Background music
That is a handy ruler Ive never seen something like that but I believe Im gonna have to pick one up.
Happy to introduce folks to new tools!
You can use patroleum jelly as well. My buddy used that on his mandalorian kits.
That's another option!
This is damn impressive. I thought I was ready to do some customizing on my nerf gun, but I see I still have a lot more to plan.
There's no right way to do this kind of project! And the best part about NERF modding is the guns are relatively affordable, so you can try many different methods with multiple different builds!
- Paige
Go to Goodwill and find one to work on.
love the chipping effects. Bill you should really wear some respirator. Tamiya paint is not good for your lungs.
You make it look so easy - but then you do seem to have evert tool, glue and paint known to man at your finger tips! ;) Excellent video.
I love you CZcams channel! You are one of the best CZcamsrs ever!
Awe, thanks!
Thanks so much for the tips on weathering now I can do my titanfall CAR SMG nerf blaster
You're so welcome!
Great video
Thanks so much!
hi for future reference if you use a desoldering heat gun (for precision) to heat the plastic it will probably weld better.
+monster novideo Neat idea!
Do you folks ever do any SteamPunk props, I would love to see your painting techniques in that genre.
We haven't done any steampunk stuff in a while. It just isn't our jam.
Its the antiope-D from destiny 2
Yep
TADA HANDS!!! :) :) :)
I love doing nerf repaints! I'm currently filming one but it's not quite ready yet. It's 2 sidestrikes (with the holsters) One mostly white and one mostly black for my cosplay stuff!
Oooooh exciting!
You can’t tell me that’s not the coolest thing you’ve ever seen.
To weld it, put a piece of filament in a rotary tool and use that. The friction will melt the filament and the part, and will fuse them. Use small side to side motion to spread it evenly
Thanks for the tip!
Siete due Grandi !
That’s the exact same tan paint that I used for my futuristic soldier armor
I think you can use dish soap for the paint scrapes
Antiope-D - Love using it in crucible especially paired with The End trials scout.
It always gets me giddy when people call it a “rival” that is an Apollo that shoots rival rounds!
more bill and ted!!!
is that a parallel port on the side of the gun :D ?
Like two kids in a toy store. Love it.
Why not use copper colour for the bullet tips?
Hey bill it's been a long time, your video was random in my feed, it was a great video you do good work!!
Bill's laugh is so damn contagious.
😆😆😆
Love the NERF customization, have you thought of using a pencil eraser to remove the latex protection film. Also if you really want to make a NERF gun based destiny gun.
Why not mould a destiny gun you've made ,and then mould the outside of the NERF gun. Then cast a case from the Destiny gun and mix the moulds to create a true destiny/NERF gun.
Also the screws you use are called set screws.
"That is uuuhh... pretty good!"
*SNAP*
May I ask what percentage (70%, 90% or 99%) rubbing alcohol you use for thinking down the paint please...
What angle did you cut the vents in the shroud?
Are those black plastic sheets worbla
Awesome :D bought myself a Nerfgun recently at a yard sale and i plan on repainting and modding it
Oh excellent!
Yeah wanted a nerf gun for ages. Sadly they are expensive. So finding one on a yard sale is really awesome. Will send a picture via twitter when it's done
One thing I'd like to clarify: blaster, not gun. Oh and if you want something better to attach stuff, use Permatex plastic welder or something equivalent. It's stupidly strong and fairly easy to work with.
Bill and Ted's excellent (modding) adventure
what kind of compressor do you use for your airbrush?
Seeing the process actually made me like the final results more! I thought you were going to harvest the foregrip from the airsoft gun for the nerf mod.
What are your thoughts on the 3D printing pen? It didn't provide a strong enough bond for welding plastic panels and I have a feeling you could have replicated the same thing with filament attached to a rotary tool.
It was alright. I'm not sure where a tool like that fits into my workflow.
You should me some techniques that I never thought of and made me a little depressed that I don't have a lath or drill press.
I totally would have bought the Hakke, if it had a magazine in the rear of the stock
I saw his reference image and immediately recognized it from Destiny.
Correct name of the gun in the pic you showed is the Antiope-D
Hot glue works as a good weld line too
i love this crossover video
;)
the press for making screw holes is a dead link and the two numbers up seeming replacement for it seems bad, is there a good alternative for it?
I ended up using a rotary tool with a drill bit. Easy peasy.
Thanks for the parts list! Hope to try something similar soon!
Right on!
I'm always confused by superglue accelerant, is US superglue different to European stuff because my superglue sticks things withing a second or two already!
A rival blaster that doesn't shoot is dead-weight...........but still, AWESOME PAINT JOB!
man buddy, that was incredible. :)
so is that paint what should be used to prime pvc pipe and such for other paints? I know that plastidip apparently doesnt stick
+SteamTitan Yes the Krylon should should work well on PVC pipe.
What's your light level? Mine is 963 on my Hunter
I wonder if you can give me the dimensions of the added plastic parts for me to recreate our apollo build
I honestly don't remember at this point unfortunately
Are you applying the masking liquid with a (hard metal) screw driver? Does that work better than a brush? (Ruined a few brushes trying to use masking fluid)
I used an awl. It seemed to work pretty well with easy cleanup.
A plastic soder iron. Neat idea
One of the coolest builds yet! Time to eVil Ted's channel to check out his shiz!
17:23 whoah were half way there whoa oh Livin on a prayer livin on a prayer
A häkke guy huh?, I'm more of a Veist guy myself XD, in all seriousness this was awesome to watch.
How much do you want for that gun?
I love when you two work together, it's great. You pair are like big kids! Love it!
Yup, just a pair of man children.
Haha it's the best way to be 😁
I'm like 70% sure that there's a video on CZcams about different 3D pen welding techniques you could've looked up.
Hey just found this video, the idea if the 3D pen is a neat one but as you discovered it does not melt the surface of the materials you are trying to join. However!, this would be a great way to hold it in place while the abs glue dries! What do you guys think? Okay, so you figured that out. But it will work if you are using a different kind of glue. But as I continued to watch I remembered a toy my older brother had when we were kids, it was a plastic wielding tool which you could build all kinds of stuff and then the wielder would use spinning friction to heat and add a bead of plastic to the joint.
when i tape a painted area to spray a dif colour,i peel out the tape but parts of the paint gets peeled off as well.Help
Either the paint isn’t dry or it didn’t bond well with the plastic. That’s why I like Krylon Fusion.
Love how he used the 3D pen to make it look welded
Cool effect isn't it?
What kind of super glue is that? Thanks if you can reply. Great video awesome work both of you
It's all linked in the description.
Where'd you get the black toy gun with the attatchments
It was a gift from a friend. Sorry I don't know where he got it from.
I assume the weapon in the thumbnail is the Rival Apollo?
yup
Did you just reply to yourself?
Hey folks, in partial payment for all yours and Ted's helpful tips I wanted to pass on a tip that might help you. There is an aerosolised accelerant for CA glues, much less messy. I use 'NCF Quick' .
Ooh I've used that stuff before. They don't have it at my local hobby store, so I ended up getting the pump bottle stuff, but I should order more.
I would like to see some more collabs with jazza!
Me too! =D
Blaster looks great, but I wish I could find a paint guide that's a little more economical😫
Evil ted and mildly aggressive bill
Not sure it'll work but try roughing up the edges of plastic you want to weld. Then it should have more surface to hold.
I did try that with some sand paper and it didn't seem to help. =(
Those Rival guns are deadly. I got shot in the eye with one of the bullets and nearly went blind from a detached retina. Still have some scaring on the inside of my eye. Very cool gun tho lol.
the Antiope-D is my fav smg :P
Mine too! =D
was it safe to airbrush without a respirator or spray booth?
+an1meart1st It's best to work in a well ventilated area. Acrylic paints aren't toxic, but if you're spraying a lot, be sure not to breathe in the particles.
Why didn't you make the scope canted, the side was slanted anyways. It would have looked and functioned sooo much better
