This is my video build of making a new and improved Cardboard Spray Booth v.2.0
A super handy “Tool/equipment” for every maker who does a bit of airbrushing and painting.
It can be made with plywood, mdf or other materials. But I needed it to be really lightweight and portable for easy storage.
So having made a previous one in cardboard, I know its more that sturdy enough from experience.
As well as fast to set up and hook up to the ventilation. And just as fast be put away again.
You’ll find links below to the 3d models I made, as well as blueprints for the actual cardboard spray booth.
Everything can of course be customised to you’re maker needs.
Hope you find something of use. Enjoy;)

You just killed the whole market of overpriced hobby paint booths. A great process which is explained perfectly. Thanks for saving us a ton of money. :)
Thank you so much for the feedback🦾 Just makes my day knowing I could help a fellow maker out a bit😉 Have a great one, cheers
I can get something in that size, made from plastic and not cardboard for 60 bucks now. that is not expensive or worse quality than this cardboard one. So no, he did not destroy any market. He helps out the poor painters, maybe.
@@fckprc8149 congratulations on belonging to the 5% of the audience that can afford usd60 on amazon for a box. The rest is for the poor painters of course. You won your twat medal of social classing now, congratulations for the public announcement of your outstanding character.
This was elegant and inspiring to watch. Whenever I get motivated to build one, I will definitely use your model and template. For now, saved into my favourites
This is awesome. My kid saw it and had to have one. She's quite pleased with her spray booth. Thanks for the instructions and stl files. Now we just need to find an led rack stl and we'll be set.
I have watched over two dozen videos on building a spray booth. This is by far the very best one out there. Highly recommend and I will be using this video as inspiration to make mine. Thank you for posting.
drugs are bad lay off the crack
This is a fundamentally great design that lends itself well to customization. I was about to plunk down a lot of money for a professional fume extractor box but this is much more practical for my needs. It's perfect for 90% of the modelling out there except for those big ship modellers. For you multifamily condo hobbyist, you can add a charcoal filter on top of your existing filter to avoid complaints from your neighbors.
i built one of these out of scrap lying around a few months back as i was getting into airbrushing and while it gets the job done, i've been wanting something that looks and works better and this is exactly it! now the family can't complain about 'the fire hazard' as they've dubbed it in our hobby room!
Hey there Tony😁 I know exactly what you meant😂🤣 And yes, with this cardboard box....No more complaints👌 Have a good one, cheers
I was about to buy a premade one but wasn't convinced on the size to price patio. This solved that, thank you!
Brilliant! Thanks for all the hard work putting it together and making it so clear that even a putz like myself might be able to do it.
I have a few big boxes I have been using, but the blow back is nasty lol. Seeing this, it's exactly what I have had in mind but didn't know what to use and how to do it. Awesome creation, thanks for sharing it.
Its truly special when someone can think outside the box and be ultra creative. Its a gift that a lot of us dont have. Including myself. Thank you for this. Cheers. 🍻
Much obliged for the feedback!!! You🫵just made my day💪Cheers and make sure to follow cause there’s a little upgrade coming up😉
i'm currently reworking my existing spray booth and I got stuck on some design aspects! I surely got inspired from some of your design choices! Thanks ! :)
Thanks for not only showing an amazing and scalable booth but some other really cool tips to help with workflow while building too.
Glad you liked it, mate👊cheers
Thank you for sharing. I’m lucky. I work in a sign shop. I can use corrugated PVC from scrapes at work. I don’t know why I didn’t think of this. Thank you again.
Absolutely love this build! This is exactly what I was looking for! So light, inexpensive yet fully functional! Excellent design and video tutorial!
Thank you so much Mr. Blaker. So glad we’re able to help😀 Good luck with your build sir😉 Cheer’s
@@PropsNstuff what size magnets did you use?
To keep expenses down you can use all kinds of free plastic bottles to slide vacuum hoses on, and I bet you also can use a disposable kitchen wipe thingy as a filter.
@@PropsNstuff⚠️ God has said in the Quran:
🔵 { O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous - ( 2:21 )
🔴 [He] who made for you the earth a bed [spread out] and the sky a ceiling and sent down from the sky, rain and brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you. So do not attribute to Allah equals while you know [that there is nothing similar to Him]. ( 2:22 )
🔵 And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful. ( 2:23 )
🔴 But if you do not - and you will never be able to - then fear the Fire, whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers.( 2:24 )
🔵 And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom, they will say, "This is what we were provided with before." And it is given to them in likeness. And they will have therein purified spouses, and they will abide therein eternally. ( 2:25 )

I just finished mine with these measurements and using corrugated plastic sheets, I pleased the way it came out, just got to hook up the hose.
Simple and sustainable solution! Very cool and easy to build. Thanks for sharing this.
Very clever designs. Love the rubber band method for holding the filter.
Thank you!!! This is a much better design that what I've got. I made my back compartment a lot deeper than you did, this makes good sense what you did.
fantastic, i use a cardboard box as my spray booth already but no ventilation system, this video has given me ideas to improve my spray booth
This was a really nice build, i Will surely use this for inspiration or make a copy for myself once o get the time for it, its perfect for my hobby room where i got all my other projects, and as i just got a 3d printer aswell Im glad to see that you used ones for this project that gives me inspiration aswell.
Great video and project.
this is AWESOME !! I was looking for a DIY spraybooth to re-use my cardbox and thanks for that video. I almost have all the components to build this baby.
thankyou so much for this upload, I am in the process of making a mdf frame and im using ur STL's for the Quick release connections and the Customizable Airbrush Filter Cassette,
You have saved me ATLEAST half of what I was gonna spend on a premade build, So thankyou very much good sir, you have earned my thanks and a sub!
Wow that's a million dollar spray booth!! I make mine with just cardboard and tape. That way when I am done I just throw it away and make a basic new one next time I need it. Saves a lot of space and gets rid of the paint odor.
What an incredibly well-produced video and super helpful. Thanks for helping all of us makers out there. We appreciate you.
Damn…getting emotional here…lol🤗😢I can’t thank you enough for those kind words!!! You just made my day💪Cheers and have a good one
I cannot begin to explain how much this meant to me , thank you.

Great idea using the magnets, one I wouldn't have thought of. Thanks
I love your videos man!! You may not post all the time, but when you do I know it will be quality content and will always make me smile through some simple but genius techniques that you use!
I really appreciate that! Must be the best feedback I'v got in a long time😁 Thank you so much😉 Have a great one buddy, cheers
@@PropsNstuff thanks alot, if i wanted to get into this stuff, making helmets /busts/ 20-30cm figures, what printers would work (cheapish models) ? and do they cost the same to make as the store made ones, seeing the price on risen kinda high?? would a Elegoo Neptune 2S FDM printer work togetther with a Elegoo saturn with more work after print.??
I wanted to get into this, slowly, then expand to stop and motion + (AI Green screen) recordings/pc work down the line whit my work.
2. if you know somewhere there is a compleet guide on what to buy to get into this , printer - paint- airbrush - filaments and resin types. i was thinking at first you could start whit FDM + normal brush painting. then scale it after u get better whit resin and airbrush?
Attempting to make a bigger version out of an old cupboard (28inchx47inch). Your vacuum chamber idea at the back is going to help me with it
A tip. We often find odd sized furnace filters on clearance. I mean dirt cheap. Especially large sized ones. Which can be cut down for use. Saves time and money
Perfect for what I need...great details and instructions....thank you!
Wow, Nicely made.
The house paint was a great addition to cleaning the paint booth.
Thanks
I did something similar using corrugated plastic panels instead of cardboard. I really like the secondary vacuum chamber and magnetic connections though!
This video is awesome! I almost bought one of those ready-made, pricey setups, and this is a great DIY project! Thank you so much for the resources and tips to build one!
Much appreciated and thank you so much for watching👊And watch out for our new video next week of «diy airbrush filters», might give you some suggestions…Cheers and have a good one🤩
I knew this could be done neatly and cheaply. Thanks for the ideas and start point!
Glad you enjoyed it👊Watch out for our new video next week «diy airbrush filters». Cheers and many thanks for watching🤩
Nice booth, great ingenuity! A bit complex for me but thats the great thing about these projects, I can take inspiration from you but build it to my specifications👍
Cool! Very crafty, good video, lots of good ideas, well put together and can build on the cheap with mostly parts I have laying around the house. Thanks! 👍
Thanks CZcams for feeding me this 👍🏼 Nice build and very well presented. Will have a look at your other videos.
Cheers
Change the bottom filter brackets to have outer ledges the filter sets into from the top, that way you only need 2 brackets with rubber bands to hold it in place.
Outstanding... Fixing to get into RC body painting and THIS right here, is exactly what I needed 🤙
Glad you liked it👊cheers and have a good one
Wow, thank you! I wondered how I would build mine. Now this is perfect for me. Thanks a lot for shareing!!!
same here!
Thank you for this tutorial. excellent. You are very professional. You gave us the files. It is a very useful tool. It was very informative and I will definitely make it. thank you🙏🙏
A quick tip for people that do not have access to a 3D printer but still would like such a vent connector. Such connector pieces are also what you often find on old mobile AC-units. Especially over here in Europe we have a lot of mobile AC units with an exhaust pipe. Those parts I always tend to remove when my old AC units broke down. I'm sure you can find similar inexpensive brackets or fan-housings in your local Home Depot style stores if needs be. 🙂
But this video is definitely a keeper as those spray-booths cost €100+ easily over here; so I'm definitely going to follow this and save a ton of money to make this cheap one out of cardboard and some computer-fans from my spare parts box. Thanks a lot for sharing!! 👍
Broham that is just fantastic!!! 👍 Will definitely be building 2 of these.
Absolutely adorable. 🥰
Nice job and so important. As a kid, I was always making models and things. That is to say, exposed to all sorts of chemicals. Then as an adult building props and sets. Recently, I got back into model (from scratch) building. However, after a month I gave it up due to the way chemicals made me fell. I've been looking for a less toxic work flow, but it's not easy.
With the high costs of new paint booths, this video is an excellent alternative for the diy'er.. Thanks for the upload 👍
Much obliged! Have a good one👍
Gracias totales y sigue con más proyectos con estos tutoriales que són regeniales, bendiciones totales. Saludos desde América Latina para el mundo.
I like this. I think I'm going to try to build my own. I'm thinking to coat it in flex seal, to water proof it, but also because spray paint won't stick to it.
Thanks for the inspiration!
thanks for the info!
This is so awesome! Thank you for sharing this amazing project. Love this! ♥️
You are so welcome Aisling😁 And thank you for saying that😉 Have a great one, cheers!
@@PropsNstuff Hi, amazing job. You saved me from a v1.0 that I was about to build. Please, I still have a question, because my exhaust hoe is coming from the side/bottom, would it matter the suction distribution to have the connection hole on the bottom of the suction chamber ? Thnaks a lot in advance for your reply.
Thank you for your clear and simple as possible explanation and information.
Thank you👍🏻glad you liked it
This is a really slick setup! Thank you for sharing
I used to use a straight cardboard box as a spray booth - this is definitely going to be the next generation… Thank you
Glad I could help out in some small way buddy😁 Good luck with you’re v2.0 booth😉 Have a good one, cheers
I made my own a while back, it isn't very good. I will give your design a try, it does look really good and I have most of the parts I can use again from mine. One thing I did do that I might keep is use a clear perspex 'window' on the roof, this allows me to angle my painting lamp directly down into the booth and swing it back out of the way when I am painting my minis.
If you go to your local scrap yard you might find a over the stove fan and make one of those into a home made spray booth.
I have came across a few of them I put one on my metal grinding table to catch the metal dust it seems to work well I have to change the filter often.
For painting I'm shire it would work well it sucks the food smoke from the stove top why not paint. Plus they're at the scrap yard tossing it out for a few buck's or they might even give it to you? Stove top fan will work well for a home made booth. I'm shire a card board box with a fan behind it will work too.
Love it! I'm going to build one here soon. I greatly appreciate your work here. Thanks!
So glad you liked it👊and good luck! Cheers and have a good one
Starting with a box closer to the final size would make it so much easy'er, Some of those plastic Ikea storage containers would make it water resistant as well. Nice job.
Looks like a good idea to re purpose an old tube tv box into if one can be found 👍🏻
Simply amazing work, congratulations and thank you for sharing!!! :)
Thanks very much. I did another one, but your video inspired me to do it myself. I had already one in the basket when I saw your video :D
Best of luck, mate👊have a good one
Great work! This is the first video of yours I have encountered, and I am going to have to take a look at the rest.
Awesome build man. Thank you for sharing!
wow, thanks so much for sharing this- I was hoping to save some money by building a spray booth but worried about approaching it as a newbie, but this is such a helpful guide and a really excellent design!
Thanks mate🦾We really hope it’s working out for ya! Cheers and have a good one
Wow, thanks for the designs!
Thank you for share with us your idea. Congratulation, simple, cheaper and functional.
Lovely! this settles it, im just gonna make my own booth with the jula fan :D And as a fellow Norwegian id love love LOVE it if you did a list of your fav sources for things like foam, paint, glue ,resin , etc :D
Many thanks for this vid, really thorough and informative. Cheers!
Very well done. I like the simplicity of using cardboard and duct tape. I don't have access to any 3-D printing so i'll have to figure out a way around the stuff you made. Thanks for a great idea.
Just buying brackets from your hardware store that fit what you need works and if youd rather not go that route just duct tape all the way lol it works
Very nice, clean design. Great video and presentation format! Thanks for sharing
Thank you very much for this great airbrush DIY idea.
You are very welcome👌Thank you🫵for watching! Make sure to subscribe and don’t miss our next video coming out soon (related to this one). Have a good one🤩
Very cool, Im going to build this for my shop.
Hobbyist, year right this is the best Spray booth that I have seen. Wish you can come to my home and making one.
LOL…🤭Thx mate, really appreciate the feedback👍Made my day!
This is just genius, I'm going to have to make myself 1 thank you
Thx for some great ideas. I was also considering a soldering vent area; and this space might serve both purposes; by just swapping in specific gear as the need demands.
Thank you so much for watching👍Great idea👌Love it when fellow makers customize it to their own needs. And watch out for our new video next week of «diy airbrush filter». Cheers and have a good one😄
Another great video! Very useful and well thought out. Keep up the good work. Look forward to your next one. 😎
Much appreciated! And yes, working on the next one this weekend😉 Have a great one, cheers😉
Omg this is awesome! I'm hoping to get an airbrush for christmas to help with my hobby, but I want to do it in my room and not in my basement or garage. So this is probably the best thing I can do. Awesome video! and thanks for the guide
That sounds great😉 And yes, it’s a massive help for when you have a “Hobby room" inside the house. Good luck buddy, and thank you for the kind words😁 Have a good one, cheers
woww..this is really cool and useful..thanks a lot for sharing !
That is fantastic! Very cool build
This has inspired me to make my own. Thank you.
Think I'll give one a bash! I was away to buy one next week bit already have that same fan for an old grow tent lol
Fabulous video, production and booth!!!
very very nice ... ill be on my way to make this soon as ill need it for my airbrushing days to come .... thanks for the build :) awesome idea's
This is a beautiful idea. I have purchased a spray booth, but I can incorporate some of your ideas.
Awesome...thanks for sharing your great design.
CAD = Cardboard Aided Design. Learned that from Bad Obsession Motorsport. The Brits have their awesome humor :).
Great project! I was looking for ideas on this as well. Cardboard and duct tape, a truly American solution :)
Awesome paint booth, thank you for supplying the links
Cheers👊🏻
Thought about building a collapsible in hdf. Can be good to have at home sometimes. Has both hdf and filters at work. Everything else I already have on the shelf 👍
Anyone that is going to build this Please read my comment before buying the boxes. great job, thanks for sharing. One comment or suggestion to anyone who is thinking of building. I am in the middle of building the airbrush booth. What I didnt notice was the boxes you need. Most box's flaps are only half size to cover the opening. In the video , the box wide flap is big enough to cover the whole opening. I had to tape another flap to the large one to make it work. Im not sure where you can find a box like that. I found a heavy duty box at lowes that was twice as thick as a normal box. it cost twice as much too. but it defiantly stronger. for the filter mounts. i use a regular 4" brace and used two small bolts to mount to cardboard. the corner brace was two exspensive to buy 4. perhaps if you find them at a discount store or flea market. I didnt want to pay $6 for 2. as far as the exhausts mount. i doing something totatly different. I will post photo's when Im finish
That was awesome! gonna give this a shot!
Perfect Build! 👏
exactly what i've been looking for :D awesome booth awesome vid :)
This in incredible! I'll definitely need to try this!
This is very cool. As a complete beginner, I would like to have more information on the exhaust fan. I have no idea what I'm looking for at the hardware store.
Thanks for the video
I was thinking of trying to make a Spray booth out of an old PC case. This looks loads better!
Hi there, absolutely magnificent. I’ve learnt a lot this evening. Thank you for sharing. 😊
Thank you for watching👍🏻
This was very helpful, thank you for the share.😁
Videos like this make me glad I invested in a 3D printer lol. A paint booth was going to cost me at least $130 US and now its gonna cost maybe 1/3 of that, and this will be twice the size. Thank you!
Right? Affordable and customizable….mission accomplished✅Cheers and make sure to follow for a little upgrade (on the booth) that’s coming up👍
Beautiful design! I've been looking at commercial booths and other DIY booths and I think yours is among the best. I might customize a bit and use some corrugated plastic instead of the cardboard for the structural walls, but otherwise I'll be following this plan pretty closely!
Thank you so much for the feedback👊Love it when other makers have a use for the stuff we make👌and customizing it is a great idea since this was always supposed to be fully customizable. Cheers and have a great one🤩and watch out for a new video next week with that making of diy airbrush filters.
Brotha just what I needed...thanks for all the information.
So glad you liked it👊cheers, have a good one
Mi wife its just weeks from giving birth so i have been thinking in a booth like this to keep the house safe for our baby! This is an amazing video in an amazing timing for me! THANKS👍🏻✨
I was just thinking about making one of these the other day, glad i came across the channel
That's so cool😉 God luck with your build Sir👌 Cheers
