This was one of the best bits SNL has done in a while. They poured so much thought and energy into it. Bowen and Ariana are wonderful together.
Not to mention the hundreds of thousands they must have spent paying for the rights to the music.

Bowen is such an amazing addition to SNL literally my favorite skits have been his & I know he’s been on it for some time now but everytime I watch his skits I’m always like “wow I can’t believe I’m watching SNL and enjoying it” so till that thought leaves me I’ll always credit his addition as the reason I’m enjoying SNL again
He’s definitely getting better. His first year on the show, he was absolutely horrible and unfunny.

Man, Ariana did great in this sketch. Both of them together are gold. You can see the fun they're having, and that's what makes this way better. I can't count how many times I've watched this clip, and I laugh every single time.

Ironically, I have no interest in seeing Moulin Rouge but, like you, loved this skit! I know the basic story of Moulin Rouge, too ridiculous for my taste, but I still like its soundtrack a lot.

And at the same time they are rehearsing a new show that is similar in plot to the love triangle occuring between the writer, the performer, and the duke. And she's dying for some reason.
All the musical numbers are mashups of popular songs. I think the first number when they go to the club is the Can Can song mixed with Smells Like Teen Spirit. I did NOT like it

This was amazing! Bowen and Ariana breaking, their voices, the lyrics, the "I've finally learnt French" (as if the movie is not set in Paris), and air kiss "ce soir" - just perfect!😂❤ I love Moulin Rouge, my sister had the VHS (yep, I'm that old) and we watched it like a million times.
