It's always so great to see a cast member have their breakout sketch
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
So true. Loved that for her
SO GOOD!!!!!
well said! i thought the same thing. this was awesome.
Agreed, this should be a reoccurring character with different imaginary host friends where she slowly unveils worse and worse plans, haha.
Honestly did not expect Timothee Chalamet as a talking moon being the most normal thing about the sketch.
Why is Timothee Chalamet always being targeted?
@@NOK_NOK537wut
Talking more about him being the moon for the sketch you twit. @@NOK_NOK537
“My concerns are very valid”
This comment made me laugh as much as the sketch did! 😂
I love how the audience thought Chloe was singing like that as a joke, and then quickly realized she actually had range
it was a joke , and she has great range.
It was a joke though. She was supposed to be a little girl and the voice was too deep.
The faces and tones she used made it a joke. But dang when she cut loose , it was great. I watched this skit 10 times just to hear her sing.
“And don’t call me silly moon. My concerns are very valid” 😂😂😂
Ok, but her voice is legitimately amazing 😳😍
God damn! Did you notice there was also a moon talking in the scene too?
I didn't notice because that was some real singing and I got distracted.
I know right? She’s has one heck of a voice! 🎤 It’s like a mix of Jennifer Hudson and Shirley Bassey. She could definitely have one heck of a singing career!
When she started, I thought her problem might be testosterone... LOL ;-P
@@oracleofdelphi4533 Did you hear she started COVID?

Took me a couple seconds to realize that it was actually Chloe singing cause it sounded far better than I'd think someone on SNL should sound
It took me a second to realize there are two chloes on the show now lol
Right! Daymm that's talent!
Cecily Strong sez: WTF
@@NolaChick82, and Maya
She talented
3:15 "Just chillin', having sex with gay gargoyles [*beats chest*] -- like -- it's -- my -- job!"
I can't unhear that.
That first note slayed me. Like most of the comments here, I think she has a great voice but she also has that comedic ability to make it sound and look ridiculous at the same time. I think part of it is the faces she pulls through out the sketch.
I was thinking the same thing. I'm debating whether the singing is actually that ridiculous though.. I think it's more the context: when a character in a play or musical does this sort of singing soliloquy (there's probably an actual term for this), you never see all of these vocal flourishes (I'm sure there's an actual term for that too).
Like, if you changed the words but had the same exact tune/vocal effects, I feel like this could easily be a professional pop song. (Though maybe a bit subdued/slow for one.)
Her weird mouth shape when she sings the word "adopted" made me laugh more than anything else in this sketch (and that's SAYING something).
The humour comes in the juxtaposition. Going from a high pitched innocent voice to leading with such low notes comes out of nowhere. Once you hear her full range it becomes impressive on top of unexpected.
As soon as she went, “Whaaa” I died 🤣
it's rare that a new cast member is this natural right out the gate, i'm so glad chloe finally got to lead a sketch! she absolutely killed it, can't wait to see more of her
to hit the ground running with a strong character and musical sketch that is actually funny…she’s hitting that same part of my brain PDD did 3 years ago, she’s the future
yeah, and that was unexpectedly really good :)
That song was really good. But is it just me, or does she kind of sound similar to Aidy Bryant?
...OK Chloes alt account 😂

I HEARD that in her voice!
This was written by Mikey Day, Streeter Seidell and Chloe Troast. Great job, guys! A breakout sketch for Chloe! What an amazing voice!
It sucked
I’ve always wondered how people know who writes which sketch…. Is this listed somewhere?
@emilybarker3240 Streeter Seidell tweeted that he and Mikey wrote this with Chloe. A lot of the writer's will post on social media about the sketches they've written. Not all the time, but often enough.
is this a parody of an existing Broadway song or just an original creation?
@achilleshoplite the middle sounds a little like the You're going to love me from dream girls, I had the same thought lol
I can’t stop singing, “step two: I give the teeth to puddy” 😂😂😂
Ok, ok, facts!
It's "Having sex with gay gargoyles like it's my job" for me
Aw, I wanted to hear the rest of the plan.
@@cartooncentral263 SAME!
That's my favorite part. Especially if you watch Mikey Day and how he mimes out the plan 😂
Yes Chloe! More of this, please. Even though she played it for comedy, she legit can sing. And whoever wrote this song knocked it out of the park.
Shes better than sara
No chance
@dayserlock9150
Can't really agree with that, but both Chloes are super talented. And Sara Sherman is right where she belongs on weekend update.
This has to have been something she wrote for her own voice!

“Don’t call me ‘silly moon’. My concerns are very valid!”
“Honestly, you're old enough to start your own family” 😂😂😂😂😂
Excuse me but we're gonna need a full studio release for this banger.

Yeah! I wanna hear the rest of the plan.
She reminds me of Cecily--and I hope we see much much more of her!!! She killed this!!
Yeah! Cecily vibes for sure!
But I still miss Cecily....

Chloe gives off Aidy Bryant vibes, and I'm here for it.
I totally caught that too! Something in her voice reminded me of Aidy.
It’d her voice and facial expressions for sure!!
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought that. And in certain angles, she kind of looks like Cecily.
She's better than Aidy
@@jamessirot854she’s like a mix of Aidy and Cecily
She was trying so hard not to sound good. Sis has got a great voice 😂the song was hilarious reminds me of a classic SNL sketch.
To sing those low notes is really hard, especially if you are nervous. Chloe didn’t seem nervous at all. This was an amazing performance. SNL are building a really talented cohort of performers at the moment. Long may it continue.
nothing could've prepared me for that initial "whaaaaat". beautiful.
Damn for a new cast member she's immediately established herself, she's such a natural I would've thought she's been there for years
This sketch went to a whole other level when Chloe started singing. You know the "this character is so crazy, let's have everyone react to how crazy she is," script to a tee, but she adds so much life to the material and makes it feel fresh. There's none of the usual where oh someone is making a wacky face, laugh here. A starmaking performance. Then everything gets better and better - Timothee's reactions to her, Mikey as her creepy boyfriend, and the ending.
@freddiefedowitz6049 I think it's her having sex with gay gargoyles that's crazy. I mean, why would the gargoyles be interested in her if they're gay? That's just crazy!
That 'Last week I bit a girl down to the bone' is amazing. The note at 'bone' is perfect.
Seriously! I honestly can’t stop rewinding her voice is amazing
it's right up there with "if you want an old cat to watch you bone"
Did anyone else notice how excited the other cast members were for Chloe Troast at the end when they broke set? So nice. And, yes, she was funny has hell!
_DOG POUND_
Oh, so Chloe can SING sing.
even when she is trying to sing bad it sounds so good lol
It’s amazing
The only SNL sketch this week that had me laughing out loud. Timothee's lines were delivered perfectly. "Please stop".
It's less than 48 hours after this aired and I've officially watched this like 20x 😂😂😂

Chloe!!!!! :D I loved this sketch. You stole the show---you nailed it!
No Timy did
My favorite sketch of the night. She killed this - the way she balanced the silly voice and her legitimately great singing, and the song is just well written in general. Hell yes Chloe
This is absurd and I need more of it.
My absolute favorite sketch of the night. What a debut for Troast.
Her debut was the second overprotective Spanish mom sketch although she was the doctor in the I'm Pete sketch
I hated this episode but this is the sketch of the season
Am I the only one addicted to this sketch?

Never stop showing those couple of seconds after the sketch ends. It's great to see the people give a quick "hell yeah that was good" and start scrabbling to get to the next one.
I hope people at SNL are reading these comments, because we all need more of Chloe singing and leading sketches. This took me back and shocked me, at how great her voice is, even when she's trying to sound bad. Hilarious sketch!

I think her voice has that Broadway quality to it. She has the range, good use of chest, mix voice and belting qualities. I would love her showcase her vocal abilities more!
This is legit the hardest I have ever laughed at an SNL skit. This was fantastic
genuinely love that chloe got to lead this sketch. new cast members don't often get to shine for a while (which is kinda antithetical to them being there...) but she killed it here. easily the funniest sketch of the night for me

That writers strike was worth it , SNL is funny again.
Totally agree. Best skit in a long time.
What about Washington’s dream
The over the top singing was half the point. That's why it was so funny.
Same
That first, “Whaaaat is it about me?” -I completely lost it
I've watched this video at least 10 times already!! Chloe Troast is a talent to keep an eye on. Whoever came up with the ages 26 and 18 months, and 40 and 30 months is genius!!
probably a take on the old version of telling ages ("10 years and 2" or something similar)
i like that the cast clapped for her at the end! nice support for a breakout performance.
When it was live, you could see Molly give her a big, well deserved, hug right at the end. This was a 10/10 sketch.
when she sang “adopted”, her face made me choke on my tea 😭😭
I also found that face the funniest micro-moment of the sketch!
Why is this a soulful bop?😂😂😂😂
I really like when she does that throaty vocal timbre. It’s silly but honestly if she wasn’t joking it’d be everything.
"My concerns are very valid." - Mr. Moon
I need more of Chloe's singing.
Is anyone else wishing she was able to finish her song so we could all know what her and Putty’s plan fully is?!

I’m sure this will go down as one of the best skits of the season. Her singing voice is hilarious.
I’ve watched this 50 times and I’m not ashamed.

I keep coming back to this because holy shit, Chloe can sing. And that belt at 2:51 is insane.

This is the best sketch in 5 years. Amazing. Chloe is gonna be great.
This sketch was INCREDIBLE!! pure. comedy. didn’t need any crazy costumes or anything unnecessary, just over the top good ole acting and comedic writing genius. APPLAUSE!!
" Just chillen, having sex with gay gargoyles like it's my job "

well done SNL. this one kicks!
I’m pretty proud of Chloe Troast here! She’s a brand new cast member this year and is already starring in a sketch! Plus, what a voice (which I somehow mean both unironically AND ironically at the same time).
She was in the airplane sketch two weeks ago too, which was arguably the only good one from that week as well.
from chloe’s genuinely amazing voice to timmy trying not to break at different times throughout… incredible. this is one of my favorite SNL sketches ever
I love the moment around 4:30 where both Timothee and Chloe almost break! 😂
I have watched this numerous times, and she has an amazing voice. I hope she does more sketches where she sings. Everyone's performance in this was great.
Would love to see this become a recurring character/sketch 🙏
ur like a lesbian tho lol
I love the anger in his voice when they can’t calculate their age 😂
Timothee being an annoyed Moon was way more funny than I thought it would ever be
I literally listen to this like a regular song
"Stop calling me a silly Moon! My concerns are valid!"
‘THE BONE?!’ That line kills me!!
3:35 “ I think we are running into a few possible issues here”
🤣
She reminds me of Maya Rudolph and her National Anthem sketch where she obviously tried to make her voice bad but her singing voice is just too naturally good!
This is unironically a really good song
Is it too soon to ask for a comeback from orphan Cassidy? I would love to see her in the first home that takes her in, or being and orphan in college.
Must have been nerve wracking to go out as a new cast member and not only lead the sketch but also sing like that. What a talent!!
This could’ve been 25 minutes and I’d watch and want more lol
“I’m 49 and 30 months!” Why have I not thought of this from now on I am 40 and 60 months!!
That first note is LEGENDARY. lmao
I think that she's a star in the making. I loved the sketched, but her voice. Powerful!!!! Terrific job!
