Definitely part of the problem. Banner and Video ads are a dying medium. If youtube premium was less of a "pay to have no ads" thing and more like discord nitro (Extra features, themes, animated pfps, emotes, ect.), people would actually buy it.

I've said it a thousand times, literally just sell Adblock. Not as part of CZcams premium, not packaged alongside some bullshit, sell JUST Adblock for like £3 a month or £30 a year or whatever method you want to use, just do that. Videos can be downloaded by 3rd party apps and sites. Music can be compiled on literally any computer ever and sent onto a mobile device. I don't want videos playing when I'm off the YT app. I don't care for those features, I just want Adblock, if you offered it to me for a reasonable price I would pay it and likely so would thousands or millions of others. If the people I watched got a slice of what I paid and CZcams got a cut, I'd be more than happy to pay, especially since I watch on an iOS device regularly. I wouldn't be so adamant about using adblock if CZcams actually had quality ads, and wasn't doing egregious things like full minute unskippables on Xbox/ps yt and increasing ad lengths when you don't skip them, taking advantage of people who leave autoplay on, and people who are too busy to skip it.
I'll be honest, i am not interested in any ads. Clicking on ads is the easiest way to your data pulled or get malware on your PC. This has been the case since the earliest days of the internet.

What annoys me even more is the fact that the adverts you get on YT are not exactly helpful. Some of them are outright scams or for some bull crap product no one will ever buy.

not really, many ads are nsfw or scams, and you can always skip the youtuber ad break, and some actually make it kinda fun by making it a min-video of theirs, as well as it supports the creators you watch themselves a lot more, and even then, if you hate it, there are sponsor blockers i kinda get the idea of hating sponsors (esspicially when the sponsor is a scam) but i don't agree in the slightest in normal ads being better and ads are too often and random, they completely break the pacing of a video, and while a sponsor can also do so, the video is made with it in mind, and it's only 1 per video, so it isn't as bad
They're fighting a losing war considering most adblockers just end up finding a workaround to whatever new anti-adblock thing they spit out, they should just give up and let us win at this point.

according to the laws of basic economics, 1 firm in an economy is a monopoly. monopolies can charge high prices and make low quality products without the demand being affected because theres no direct forgone alternative. youtube can stay comfortable with making their shitty changes because theres no other video sharing website people can use. unless tiktok or associated makes something, then youtube can just stay as they are without any other company trying to make their own buck without it flopping.

The real problem is not enough individual ad, and too many ad inserts for the limited number of ads they have, so we all end up seeing the same ones over and over and over.
Definitely part of the problem. Banner and Video ads are a dying medium. If youtube premium was less of a "pay to have no ads" thing and more like discord nitro (Extra features, themes, animated pfps, emotes, ect.), people would actually buy it.
@@ATBZ Problem is, they are doing that, too, and in the scummiest way possible. They have taken options like listening to videos play while the app is minimized on Phone that used to be available, and blocked them behind a paywall..
I haven't seen a disable ads pop-up in several months, I completely forgot they were doing this.
Same i have 2 ad blocks installed rn so even if 1 gets slightly behind CZcams bs the other one will probes overtake it. also use sponsership block so i dont have to hear about trash mobiles games or usless vpns anymore
@@shawbag11 exactly, I do the same thing. One of the 2 ad blocks is the built in OperaGX one for me while the other is one I downloaded separately. I also have the sponsorship block so I don't have to manually skip stuff.
Certain adblockers are several steps ahead of the system.
It's really annoying having to constantly update but ReVanced HAS kept going at it strong and they patched this problem out within like, a day or 2 of this problem being reported

I've said it a thousand times, literally just sell Adblock. Not as part of CZcams premium, not packaged alongside some bullshit, sell JUST Adblock for like £3 a month or £30 a year or whatever method you want to use, just do that. Videos can be downloaded by 3rd party apps and sites. Music can be compiled on literally any computer ever and sent onto a mobile device. I don't want videos playing when I'm off the YT app. I don't care for those features, I just want Adblock, if you offered it to me for a reasonable price I would pay it and likely so would thousands or millions of others. If the people I watched got a slice of what I paid and CZcams got a cut, I'd be more than happy to pay, especially since I watch on an iOS device regularly. You're taking money out of your own pockets, CZcams.

I wouldn't be so adamant about using adblock if CZcams actually had quality ads, and wasn't doing egregious things like full minute unskippables on Xbox/ps yt and increasing ad lengths when you don't skip them, taking advantage of people who leave autoplay on, and people who are too busy to skip it.

I think this kind of applies to ads as well. If you want to discourage people from using ad blockers, anti-adblocking measures will only make them stronger. It'd be better to be less annoying with ads so less people would be pushed to use ad blockers in the first place.

Adds are honestly way better than when CZcams creators force a 2 minute add break on their videos.
Those 2 minute ad breaks are skippable tho, and you can usually see when the ad ends by looking at the video chapters or whatever
There is an extension called sponsor block. you should look into it.
SponsorBlock addon is your best friend
not really, many ads are nsfw or scams, and you can always skip the youtuber ad break, and some actually make it kinda fun by making it a min-video of theirs, as well as it supports the creators you watch themselves a lot more, and even then, if you hate it, there are sponsor blockers
i kinda get the idea of hating sponsors (esspicially when the sponsor is a scam) but i don't agree in the slightest in normal ads being better
and ads are too often and random, they completely break the pacing of a video, and while a sponsor can also do so, the video is made with it in mind, and it's only 1 per video, so it isn't as bad

I remember when the ads were just a small banner that popped up on screen, ads like that seems like a dream compared to what's getting shoved down our throats right now lol. Imagine if they went back to that sort of thing, with how often people would put on a video to just listen in the background or on music videos, it would essentially be like printing free money. Course I have zero clue about the inner workings of different kind of ads so I have no idea if that would be a worthwhile change in their eyes

according to the laws of basic economics, 1 firm in an economy is a monopoly. monopolies can charge high prices and make low quality products without the demand being affected because theres no direct forgone alternative.
youtube can stay comfortable with making their shitty changes because theres no other video sharing website people can use. unless tiktok or associated makes something, then youtube can just stay as they are without any other company trying to make their own buck without it flopping.
