      Still better than NZ fans, who call their team abysmal after 2 defeats. They’re slowly learning to treat their players with respect, but boy they can be a salty bunch

      Even rarer is when they're playing in Europe and their white supporters sing the first verse of the national anthem.

    You missed out Stuart Hoggs red card against Wales. the ref gave him a yellow watched the replay on the screen called him back on and then red carded him. I've never seen it before and never seen it since.

    That corner post try should not have been allowed. If a player is holding the ball and hits the corner post he is out. Therefore if the ball hits it it should be out.

    • @AndrewDavidForde
      @AndrewDavidForde  Před 2 lety

      That's not true, the laws explicitly say hitting the corner flag doesn't mean you're out.

    Can someone explain the maul rule?

    • @jamesbrawn5458
      @jamesbrawn5458 Před 2 lety +4

      Law 16(2) - It (a maul) consists of a ball-carrier and at least one player from each team, bound together and on their feet.
      So in that example, as no one from the defending team engages the ballcarrier, it is not a maul, but still open play.
      To be fair to the defending team, they could’ve just tackled the ballcarrier as he is at the front.
      What the attacking team is worried about is Law 10(1) - A player is offside in open play if that player is in front of a team-mate who is carrying the ball or who last played it. An offside player must not interfere with play.
      If the ball isn’t at the front of the maul and it advances into a defender who isn’t engaging, then it would be a penalty for offside.

      @@jamesbrawn5458 so in that clip the jumper handed the ball back too early? If he just has the ball surely it’s okay to just walk backwards because the rest of the “maul” were behind him?

      But as they walk backwards, as long as the ballcarrier at the front is holding the ball, he can be tackled. If he passes it back and someone engages the maul, then it is offside - Law 10(1)
