I was introducing a friend from Jordan to rugby during the Scotland England game. I'm English and he started cheering for England. Then, when Scotland were 31 to 0 he met some Scottish guys and decided to switch allegiance to them. Then suddenly Scotland started winning. So if you're looking for someone to blame as an England fan, or thank as a Scottish fan, my friend JK seems to be a lucky charm.

I remember that Larkham drop goal as a child, in extra time of a world cup semi final, he had never done a drop goal before, from the 10 meter line, after a physical 90 minutes with the most bruising team in world rugby and wins it with the unexpected. The epitome of cometh the hour cometh the man.

That final game, Eng v Scotland, in the 2019 "6 Nations" was an out & out Blitzkrieg by Scotland to come back from a 31-0 deficit in the first half to take a 31-38 lead in the 2nd & at Twickenham !!!
Simply unbelievable & very unlucky not to win it on that form.
Brilliant game for you boys in Blue & one that we Irish must never lose sight of when we meet up for the opening "6" match of 2020 in Dublin at the weekend on Saturday.
Here's hoping we don't allow a repeat performance but should be a great battle.
Best of luck to both teams...but...

The amazing thing is Wales beat the record for coming back from the largest deficit ever in a 6 Nations game in the opener against France, with just 16 points. If Ford hadn't have crossed in extra time to take a draw Scotland would have destroyed the record but it still stands.

I am showing my age but the gems of commentary by Bill McClaren the great Scottish commentator for the BBC would be one of my great memories of rugby as a youngster back in the 80's and 90's. The John Kerwin try is very dear to my heart. I remember watching it on TV when I first started playing Rugby as a kid and wanting to do the same thing. Unfortunately it wasn't until I was in my mid 30's when I was not as quick as I used to be, a lot fatter and less fit but I managed to score a try just like it. Admittedly it was for the 2nd team of my club and everyone was past their sell by date but I ran through the entire opposition just like my first Rugby hero.
I wish I could still play (injury and age are not kind) but my memories will never be lost. Greatest team sport ever!

Very very rare as they need scores + tries to be level after extra time. They still exist but the format changed a little to spare the forwards blushes, now they select the best kickers and increase the difficulty.
I must have watched well over a thousand games and only seen it happen twice. The irony of that one is Martyn Williams missed the crucial kick and he is one of very few forwards in the pro era (along with famously Zinzan Brooke) to score a drop goal in a test match. He claims in retrospect he would have been better taking a drop kick because at the time they had the trend for really tall kicking tees and he'd never used one before.

Am I the only one who thinks the much more exciting format for penalty shootouts would be...
    1) Each team picks their _best_ placekicker.
    2) Five kicks per team
    3) The kick placements move from the 5 meter line on one end to the opposite 5 m line on the other (all across the 22m).
    4) If teams are drawn at the end of the five kicks the ball is placed 10 meters back...and so on and so on...
Now *that* would be exciting and a real test of placekicking skill (angle + distance).

So England Scotland greatest home nations match ever. Seriously Scotland looked finished so early in that match the way they fought back was inspiring, most enjoyable draw ever. Secondly as an Englishman it pains to me to say this, but, 2 of these videos and you didn't include that bloody South African boot? We all know who I am talking about.

3 games missing for me are:
Lomu destroying England’s defence in 95, I don’t think anybody had seen anything like Lomu’s power or speed. Probably rugby’s first true super star.
RWC 99 when France managed to beat New Zealand in the second half after being completely hammered in the first. I agree the Scottish game deserves to be on this list but to do it against NZ in a knockout game is something special.
Finally, if it’s going to be moments never to be forgotten. Wilkinson’s last gasp drop goal to win the WC against Australia in Australia should be up there.
Just seen part 1 of these videos, still no France come back though!

South Africa giving Wales a rugby lesson at 96-3 should have made it into this video. The look on those Welsh players faces was priceless. I'm pretty sure a few of them never recovered and are still institutionalised till this day.

As much as I think that France try was a missed forward pass, I think the most disgraceful part of the game was how the pitchforks came out for Wayne Barmes, when in reality France looked the better team on the day and very well might have won the game anyway.

Nigel Stone it is an incredibly important moment this was Ireland’s first match after Anthony foley died so the entire match was basically a tribute also i think beating a team after 111 years of playing against each other is pretty memorable
