That 2013 Welsh anthem has to be the best one ever sung. No fancy music or singer just the crowd and the choir!
Even as a Scot I turned the volume up and just revelled in it. Glorious.

@@alasdairduncan3 Even as an Englishman (although living in canada for 30 years now) I turn up the volume and watch that anthem periodically, to refresh myself on what an anthem should sound like.

How could there be anything other than a win after that anthem. Remember watching it and initially before the anthem was nervous then after that great singing said to my ex girlfriend who was English there is no way in hell wales are losing this match now.
That 2015 Super Saturday was immense. Such a great celebration of rugby.

Watching all these great Six Nations moments makes me miss Eddie Butler. For someone who didn't have Sky, he was the voice of rugby for me for so long along with Andrew Cotter and Nick Mullins.

I remember the final day of that 2015 six nations like it was yesterday. England vs France was the last game and England needed to beat France by 26 points to win the title which seemed unfathomable before the game. We ended up with one of the most entertaining 6 nations fixtures of all time, England ran riot to score a record 55 points but France threw everything back at them and scored 5 tries of their own, giving Ireland the title.
Very much looking forward to the anthems this year, feels even more important given the farce in the WC

The half where Italy didn't put anyone in the ruck making it tackle only so no offside and England had no idea how to play against it. Fascinating to watch and so surprising it doesn't get used more

IIRC, that game actually prompted world rugby to amend that rule, so ruckgating is now completely illegal
Imagine if all 3 games on super Saturday were played at the same time. The extra suspense and tension it would have created would have been great

- Richie Gray’s try in 2011 where he dummies I believe Tommy Bowe at the Aviva stadium.
- that wales game in 2019 where they absolutely smashed Ireland with that hadleigh park gem of a try at the Principality in the second minute (think it was that year)
- Italy’s first game in the 6N
- Scotland’s first win at Twickenham in 2021 in 22 years?

@@JKMeZmA Except the Dupont Grand Slam winning try in 2022 and the oppresive final minutes of the Crunch in 2010 leading to the Grand Slam 100 years after the inclusion of France in the 5 Nations, I think he pretty much covered every great french moments indeed.
He mentionned the 2015 Grand Slam who was awesome but I think the Super Saturday in 2022 was really good as well imo. First Italian win in 7 years, the Irish putting a lot of pressure on the french and France finally winning a title after 12 years of suffering.

@@sammurray9644 on a more serious note, kinda surprised the Ireland vs England match in Croke Park in 2007 wasn't mentionned at all. The Ireland Call, the atmosphere, the context of the match..it had everything imo.

14:27 As hilarious as this was, as much as I enjoyed it, the referee was absolutely out of order. You cannot tell a captain to go speak to his players and then, seconds later, restart the match. Thankfully referees have been careful in these situations since.
I think that game was the worst refereed game of rugby id ever watched. It was like he wasn't trying to hide his hatred for England.

We so rarely see things from the Carling era, so perhaps something from around then. For balance, perhaps when Serge Besten man marked Wilkinson out of the game in (I think) 02?
@@jameslenney I only included from 2000 onwards as I was born in 1999 so my knowledge of the 5 nations probably wouldn’t do it justice! Would certainly include that from Betsen in a future vid!

Well, in that case I'd also say Dupont's absolutely effing insane pass out to the wing last season against Wales, as well as France's demolishing of England in the same season (I wanted to cry).
Also, England's opener against Ireland in 2019 (the entire move over the space of 2 mins was amazing; like a short version of that famous wc try against NZ).
And any of the defensive brilliance England showed against Ireland in 2003, as I still can't think of a better drift defence ever - they had absolute confidence in the outside man, conceding large amounts of ground to cover offloads and prevent otherwise certain tries.
They're my standout moments/attributes not yet featured, since I've been watching rugby. Thanks for sharing the footage shown so far, particularly Lawes' tackle - at the time, I felt the impact all the way down the road in Chiswick.

You should look up as to how that situation actually came about. You wouldn't move either...
Johnson only ever listened to one person, the ref. Fact of the matter, it was not the ref who told him to move to the other side, so he stayed put. Good on him.
