- Hey everyone! I am so grateful to be getting a brand new drum set from Mapex! It's such a stellar set & I'm happy to be playing on them.
This is the Mapex Armory Studioease 6 piece set with the Tomahawk snare.
If you enjoy this video, give it a like!
I Played these songs at the end:
White Washed - August Burns Red
Secrets - State Champs
Summertime gladness - Dance Gavin Dance
(I also didn't tune or muffle anything. This is straight out of the box & with camera audio so you know more of what you're getting.)
/ johnthejuanguy - Hudba
It was really nice to see you. Makes me happy to see a drummer with a new set
Congrats on the new kit! Mapex makes great stuff. Now that you have the drums upgraded, you can focus on upgrading your cymbals. Cymbals can be a picky thing for drummers, and they should be. Take your time and try them all out before making your decision. All the manufactures make great sounding cymbals, so go with what sounds the best to you. If you're looking for recommendations, I've used Saluda cymbals for 10 years and they look and sound just as awesome as the big names but at a fraction of the cost. Again congrats on the new kit and all the best to your drumming future.
Brian Daniels great in-site dude!
I would just add - by used. I haven't had a chance to try Saluda cymbals, because there are almost none in Europe, but I always prefer smaller companies than overpriced Paiste, Meinl, Zildjian, Sabian. I don't know what the situation is with the prices of Turkish cymbals in the USA, but they are much cheaper in Europe than the Big 4. They don’t make entry-level brass trash, but only professional, hand-forged b20 alloy cymbals. Diril, Murat Diril, Istanbul Mehmet, Istanbul Agop, Anatolian, Impression, Turkish, Bosphorus, Symrna, etc... You can't go wrong with any of these. There are so many great companies that make cymbals of the same quality as the Big 4, at a much lower price. The Turks invented cymbals and are still the best at it, and the entire Meinl Byzance series are hand hammered in Turkey, I think in Diril factory.
That smile on your face is priceless.. Very nice kit. Congrats.. 🤘🙂
Dude congrats on the Mapex armory I remember when I got my first Mapex armory kit last year.
Nice video! I was going to pickup the same kit but in the ultramarine! Great video and I liked the unboxing! Enjoy!
Nice kit man. Enjoy!
Ending fuxking rocked
Nice kit!
Great choice John, they look and sound amazing. You got me thinking now maybe i should sell my tama for one of these. May them serve you for many years.
WHITEWASHEDDDDDDDD🤘🏼🤘🏼
this is pretty sick dude!
I’m about to order mine! Can’t wait
It’s a fantastic set!
Thinking about getting the 6 piece with three high in emerald green. Looks like such a nice kit
So cool
I am going to get the 6 piece and cant wait!
It’s a fantastic set! You’ll love it!
Nice.... Enjoy!
Nice!!!!
I had that same exact kit as my first kit , 30 years ago. Percussion Plus . I can’t believe they still make the same style after all these years lol
Nice i was looking at that set with the black trim nice. i have a 17 year old mapex set that is still kicking but once i move im gonna replace it with once of these. yeah the shells all inside each other thats how mine came. none of them had the heads on them
thats the color i wanted, but i found a set in Caribbean Burst i also liked and bought them this week. I cant get over how good these drums sound for the money
Какая разница какой цвет ? когда ты играешь тебе его всё равно не видно 🤭
Mine literally just came in 20min ago. I got the night sky burst finish and haven’t even unboxed it yet. I’m just as excited bro.
How is it. Mine is on the way right now..same color
Awesome! Hope you are still playing drums! I started 7 months ago. Cheers dude
My first drum set up was a slingerland snare drum and a cymbal that was half cut up because of crack my teacher gave me. Almost twenty years later and I’m waiting on my Tama star walnut kit to ship from Japan 🇯🇵 we all start somewhere man
Good choice man. Time to invest a snare and some cymbals. I prefer the zildjian k customs.
exelente felicidades!
Dude that’s a sick sounding and looking set, congrats!!, I just recently bought a Pearl 14X5.5 Maple Concert Snare with Pearl snare drum hardware that was purchased separately, and soon I’m going to be getting my 3.5 Octave Majestic Padauk Xylophone. I also want a set as well, either DW, Gretsch, or Mapex!, also I just subbed !
Thank you! That does sound exciting! I was never good at keyboard percussion instruments.
John Scheiber you’re welcome:), and it’s amazing!!, I’m also not super strong on mallet percussion, however I want to get to stronger with mallet percussion, but my best internment is timpani, I played it for four years I’m marching band.
@@matthewmajestic1013 I've already written this comment separately, but I will repeat: Mapex=best bang for the buck; DW=overpriced & overrated. DW has strong marketing, but they aren't better than the competition, only significantly more expensive. Mapex Saturn, Pearl Masters, Tama Starclassic Birch/Walnut and Gretsch Renown are fantastic high-end drums, and are almost twice as cheap as DW. For that amount of money I would rather buy some custom kit by George H. Way, Noble & Cooley, Craviotto, etc... Greetings from Belgrade, Serbia
Congratulations. Is it possible set up the tomholder in the base of Pipe cymbal stand? That is near to legs stand
Nice Kit.. I'm getting the same kit..except it's not 'Fast Toms'..
I guess I'm not the only one that get excited when I get a New Drum Set...yea...It's a drummer thing...lol
What finish is this man?
It's the Black Dawn finish!
How are you liking it 2 years on?
How have these held up for you?
You bought this new? Can you explain again how you got that discount, please?
Where did u buy it from?
Add items to your watch list on Reverb! Occasionally, the seller might offer a special deal to everyone watching that item!
@@JohnScheiber oh wow, how much is a discount did you get? Was this used?
Did the drum heads come with the set
Yes
Try emperor suede on those . They will sound 100% better.
Dan Rivera I actually ordered the ebony versions of those before I ordered the set! I’ve always loved the resonance of those heads!
John Scheiber have you tried the suede though? It’s coated.
John Scheiber Sorry I meant to say ebony suede in the beginning, not sure why it came out that way. Yeah that’s what I was talking about. I also used Evans Rezo heads.
My mapex armory sounds like a beast now.
John Scheiber Not so much on my Saturn kit though. They sound good but muffled.
I don’t want to tune up so I ordered ambassador x.
We’ll see.
Those are great drums for the money but the stock heads suck.
Who opens a box that way...no offense man..but that hurt my brain...lol. carry on. Lol
MATRIOSHKA....
Wodka, balalaika- zaraza🌚
