    I own six pieces kit in desert Dune colour for about three years now. Sold the thomahawk snare and replaced it with aluminium Tama starphonic snare. Also have Chrome armory hardware. You can not go wrong with this drum kit. Great🤘

    Love my Armory kit!!! Had one a few years back when they first came out. Got rid of it for some crazy reason? It wax the only kit that I really ever regretted or missed. Fast forward a few years. I said if they ever come out with a really cool color, I’m buying one again! 2021 comes, enter the Nighfall Burst!!! 😱😱😱 Absolutely,stunningly beautiful kit!!!

    I bought the 6 piece Redwood burst. I also ordered the 8" tom to give me the 3 up 2 down that I've always wanted. Coupled with my Pork Pie Big Black Brass (BOB) snare on one side of the hats and the Tomahawk snare on the other side, I am jammin nonstop. I put Evans clear G1 for the reso heads and Evans clear G2 for the batter. A wonderful kit that has great sound.

    I have an Armory kit. The bang you get for your buck is phenomenal. I love mine. These kits, I believe, will outsell the Pearl Export eventually. They’re immense.

    • @theblytonian3906
      @theblytonian3906 Před 3 lety +4

      Doubt it. Pearl's price, name and reputation of the Export will continue to outsell it if primarily on price alone even if not for the lay person's predilection for name association. I like Mapex products too, and think they offer superior value for money in almost every case, although arguably not in this one. I'd buy this, but think most beginners or casual players like me will continue to buy Pearl Export or Yamaha over Mapex for a myriad of reasons which will continue to make it the proclaimed "#1 selling drum set in the world". I like these Armory kits BTW. However in terms of value? In my country with hardware pack (no cymbals) included the Armory 6 piece is pitched at an AUD$250 higher price point than Yamaha's Stage Custom Birch with (promo) bonus 14" floor tom making it too a 6 piece. One thing's for sure, great times to buy a set of drums, COVID's impact upon supply notwithstanding.

    • @3L3V3NDRUMS
      @3L3V3NDRUMS Před 2 lety +1

    If they would have had a 24” bass drum available, then i would have already bought a set. Like the virgin bass drums and the finishes of the armory series. In the meantime, I’ve decided to go with the yamaha stage custom birch in deep blue burst. Will buy a bass drum plate in place of the tom mount. Great selection of sizes to choose from. Good vid.

      I disagree. Sonor also has inexpensive models… and Mapex is not a “small” brand any more. This kit is at the same level in price and quality of the Pearl Decade, Tama Superstar Classic, or Sonor AQ2. The most noticeable difference? Still not big drummer names attached to the Mapex brand.

      @rkaylor5769 Před 3 lety +1

      Always choose maple or birch over poplar. Poplar is good for practice, but it’s soft and doesn’t project as much. The QC is far superior on this kit, though Tama doesn’t slack anywhere.

  • @FanaticDrummer
    @FanaticDrummer Před rokem +1

    As someone who owns a Starclassic W/B, its annoying that a Superstar classic rival series has better finishes than a “pro” geared kit. Honestly, I think Tama’s best finishes were the wood grains from 2005-2012. Ever since I feel like they’re taking a back seat and even Mapex has grain finishes that should be on a starclassic. For example, there are way too many Oysters in Tama’s line up which is super lame because those wraps and are in way less demand. But a wood grain based finish ALWAYS looks better. Even makes these kits
    look like they’re $2300
