When youâre battling multiple guitars for a place in the mix, not just any drum kit will do. The Mapex Armory shell pack cuts through todayâs music with a clean, focused attack and style to match. Acoustically, each shellâs hand-selected maple core boasts a familiar bite and sensitivity - one that drummers of all backgrounds will enjoy. And come showtime, the Mapex Armoryâs birch inner and outer plies focus attack for a tight, modern, close-miked sound.

Do Sweetwater selling things to India and do they convert in to âč ?
This is a great demo. Youâve done many other demos on the Mapex Armory kits, just wondering why you didnât do one with a new for 2021 finish?
Hello, I noticed that Mapex released 2 new colors for the armory line for 2021, one of which I am very interested in purchasing. Will those 2 colors be added to the option on the Sweetwater website? Thanks!

@@sweetwater Thank you!
Such a delight to watch him play. One of the greats!
If I owned a drum company the first vendor I would want to sell my drums would be Sweetwater. Nick playing the drums and explaining the dynamics of each kit really showcases the drums and resonates with the consumer.
This might be the best performance of Nick
When I grow up and get one superpower, I hope I can be 1/100th as good as Nick.
Kit sounds nice. Your playing & demo is always on point.
This type of musicality (in the opening demo) is the pinnacle of what I strive for. I am mind blown.
I LOVE these Nick D product demos. Can watch them all day.
I wish Mapex would at least offer the option to mount the rack toms to the bass drum instead of cymbal stands. I personally like bass drum mounting over cymbal stands. Just my opinion though. Great video!
Any Hardcore Mapex Fan ?
Iv have a 1991 6 piece Saturn series love it
Yep ....got a 2007 Saturn SE Walnut/Birch, Killer killer killer. I picked up a open box Tomahawk snare for $89.00....wow, deal of the century
Nick always makes the best faces while playing đ
He radiates joy of drumming.
lol like a cool uncle
Great demo as always Nick, Cheers!!!!!
Nick is so great! Love watching you play
Love the way Nick plays them as a instrument not just hammer he'll into them, very smoothâ€
What a tune... love it !!
These drums reminded me of the Slingerland Radio Kings đ» back when I played these gems đ in 2019.
Couldn't believe what I was hearing đ.
These drums blow away any and 'everything' I've ever played with the exception of Slingerland Radio Kings vintage remake,, and the Sonor Scandinavian Birch.
Seriously folks. I know quality drums at a jaw dropping affordable price point. Cheers Sweetwater and Mapex.
You guys are a "Super Power" tag team ... The Future of (Sound Quality) is here .. !!!!!

Nick, hello. As always nicely done and enjoyable even if one isn't buying a new kit immediately. Always learn from your playing and riffs. Thank you.
The playing on the 1st track was amazing!
Just fantastic like always :)
This intro â€ïž priceless â€ïžđ
Itâs all in the sticking and kick control.
Gotta give it up for Nick!! Great player, great channel/video's and Nick's down to earth style is a rarity these days. Keep the classy vid's coming, Nick.
Peace, and stay safe in 2021.
P.S. Mapex drums have a great sound
How do you like twice? Just wow. Nick is so exceptional. And the value here is great!
Man I don't even care about the kit. It's just like I'm watching a free online gig from Nick alone!
I hear you, I'm not in the market for a kit, but I always enjoy Nick's presentations.
dtto :D
Nick, I really enjoy how skillfully you play!! #Nice
Nick is always killing the review game! Heâs literally a machine đ„đ„đ„đđđ
Nick is awesome! And so is Yaahn Hunter Jr. Your demos of the armory series is the best sounding I've heard yet
Winderful.đ€©
I have an armory in the shallower fast tom configuration and Iâm amazed at how good they sound. I had the money and was torn between a Saturn V or Tama starclassic until by chance I saw the drummers review channel video on the armory and was sold right then and there. Zero regrets.
Same here. Just got the Black Dawn finish ! Love it
Hey what Iâve noticed is that mapex sounds pretty good! Some people just like the main brand names tama dw Yamaha, I donât own a mapex but I think they sound good but I never really liked their finishes lol
@@Alchemyrecordingstudioatl I really wanted black dawn but it was out of stock and the Sweetwater Black Friday 150$ rebate on the emerald burst (which I also really like) was just too good to pass up.
@@lukelackermayer I agree til I saw the black dawn. First finish that looked classy and timeless. I usually am drawn to more vintage finishes i.e oyster, sparkles, etc
Really no one needs a star classic when these and other drums like the Tama Superstar classic sound just as good besides the sound of a drum will always be the heads tuning and baring edges so you donât âhigher end â for it to sound great and you will never have to upgrade and spend that exact same money that you were going to spend on âhigh endâ and put it elsewhere
Hey nick, itâs always a pleasure watching you do reviews on all drum kits, you my friend are an awesome drummer, I was wondering on this review if the china cymbal to your left is a wuhan 16â china cymbal, I like the sound and was thinking of getting one, thank you, drum onđ
I have an Armory 6 piece kit in Aqua Marine, Absolutley amazing drums , cannot be beat for the moeny. These are pro kits all day long ! Fantastic and I am so glad I went with mapex kit
This past Summer I picked up an Armory 4 pc. fusion shell pack in Photon Blue. They sound amazing by themselves! I can't wait to jam with my buds again if this plague ever burns itself out!
Let's see the bearing edge!
Mapex đȘ
Uso Mapex desde de 1994... tenho uma...
I wish shell packs included the matching snare, good on Mapex.
Should i consider saturn v over this? What is the sonic difference between these? And hardware wise which one is better?
Anyone else hear the Ghostbusters theme in the backing tracks? Great video and great drums
yep, same chord changes on the verse
That crash cymbal stand tilter is about to give up the ghost.
Those hats...my lawd
where can I find this track??? Killin!
Another free drum lesson from Sweetwater. NDV is tight. Is it me, or did these toms sound dead? I like the kick drum sound. I've not played a tomahawk snare but I have heard good things about them. For what it's worth.
Guys, please post a link to the cymbals used here.
You should be on drumeo
Hello Nick, i want to know that this drum comes with dual pedal or we have to buy doublepedal and does it comes with cymbals in it or not please reply as soon as possible.and you played very well i appreciate for that.
Most kits in this price range donât come with cymbals, some do, but with this kit you get the toms the bass drum and the snare, no hardware.
What are the cymbal series and sizes?
Hey Sweetwater, what China is Nick using in the video? Thank you.
That's a Wuhan 12" China. Thanks for the message!
I have an Armory - Walnut finish. Great kit.
What is that China crash used in this Video?
đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł! It sounds very very nice
What sizes are the cymbals?
Amazing drum kit..but what is the little China cymbal nick is using?
Nick is using a Wuhan 12" China. Thanks for the interest, Davide!
What track are you playing too?
Why this mapex sounds better than all dw kits
Hey Sweetwater, can you help understand what is the difference between these Armory kits and the Saturn kits. Same bearing edges, hardware etc, so is it just the maple/birch vs maple/walnut that is the difference?
That would make these kits too good to be true at the price point right?
Hello, Michael! This is a great question. And the answer, to some degree, is subjective. Purely from a construction/price standpoint, the flagship Saturn kits will have an arguably better overall fit and finish and attention to detail. That said, the primary differences between the two are in the tonewoods. Walnut, in the case of the Saturn kits, adds a certain level of definition and evenness of tone across the frequency spectrum. Being a denser wood than birch, walnut offers a more defined mid range. Birch tends to offer more of a scooped tone with good low end punch and defined high end. Long story short, if you want warmth, I'd go Saturn. If you want a more cutting tone, go Armory.

The Saturn will come with higher end appointments:
2.3 mm power hoops
Upgraded bass drum spurs
Improved floor Tom brackets with memory locks.
Chamber specific shells.
@@sweetwater thanks Cody, that is super helpful and pretty much in line with what I had thought. Fit in finish wise, if your saving about $1K, if you there are visible seems in the veneer/wrap, I can live with that. They just seem to be leading the pack in terms of drums in this price bracket.
@@ChappoCrothers Mapex is killing the competitors at the price point. Just impressive sound no matter which direction you go. Both kits punch way above their price range.
Lucky me, I prefer the Armory sound over the Saturn. I prefer the color options on the Saturn, but I can live with that.
@@i_needausername7201 really? Iâm not digging the Saturn finishes. But wow, that new Night Sky finish on the Armory kits đ€Ż
That is killer!
Yeah, I never saw myself buying a âmid-levelâ kit, but these are just too good for the money.
Hey I love your reviews, can you please review the Tama Superstar Hyperdrive Maple?
He already did. Sick video with the duo snare.
@@i_needausername7201 when was that? Last year?
@@sandrider1406 two years ago, but nothingâs really changed on them since.
so the rock shell pack is the same but the rack toms are one inch deeper? hmmm... ah well take my money!
this is my dream kit. not this one exactly but the armoury 6 pc kit in either desert dune or emerald green. one day. one day.
--> 12:04 YAAASSSSSSS! LOL
Iâm sorry was this about a drum kit? All I could see was nickâs insane playing.
Only criticism is if you need to switch to lefty, no one will see the badges on the toms. But it's not like that will affect the sound or quality of the kit
Not a problem. There are badges on both sides of the Tom mount.
@@marcyoung6022 good to hear. We're always being picked on. Left handed guitars, left handed double bass pedals, left handed sticks, etc
Nick D virgilio was endorse mapex for many years
đđđđđ
I just wish Mapex would sell a kit in a 7pc configuration
You can easily make that happen. They sell this in a 6 piece kit, buy the 8 inch tom separately from eBay or DCP
@@AP02112 literally everywhere has sold out of 8 inch toms. OF COURSE đđđ
@@St_Mindless Except they haven't. What finish do you want

5:50 false. You have the Remo PSP on the BATTER head, not the reso.
What's his name?
No 'lil Nick?
What are the cymbals?
Zildjian K custom
Crashes (16â-17â, 18â-19â) and hi-hats (15â-16â) are the Zildjian Sweet Kâs. Ride (20â-21â) looks like the K Custom Extra Dry. The china (14â) is probably Wuhan, as he likes using their chinas in his demos.
@@arko_s The Sweet crashes are AMAZING! So are the Cluster Crashes! Try them out!
Really want to know what the ride cymbal is. To me it looks to have different lathing and hammering from a K Custom Special Dry.
Got it: itâs the 21â K Custom Organic Ride.
nice china, waht is it ?
Nick is using a Wuhan 12" China. Thanks for the interest!
Blows 'waiste of money'dws away..i had 5 dw sets an waisted a ton of money...buy these instead
very true.. I have the MPX birch snare which was $99 which was a steal when I bought it 4 years ago. I still have it, and it really sounds as good if not better than any DW wood snares I've ever played.
This dude fuckin rips lmaoooooo
Too bad that Mapex don't make these series with bass drum tom mount.. Only reason not to buy them.
sa sonne terrible !! need that kit but in 6pieces !
Didnât he already do the mapex armory? Theyâre really pushing these hard lately.
What trash cymbal is that size and model?
wuhan china?
