I have the exact kit. Bought it at Sweetwater last year, after watching Nick D. sample 100s of kits on video. This sounded the best. I'm going to be 60 this August, and started playing pretty last year because my wife is sick, and I needed something for my sanity. I live in Garbage Grove, Ca. And wish I could find a good teacher to give me some advice on my set up and techniques. Loved your playing style. God bless. Greg B.

I was gonna lay down 7 grand for a high end Gretsch, DW or Sonor but then I watched this vid and bought two Armory kits one in Ultramarine and the other in Night Sky Burst. They sound awesome for the price and saved me a ton of money and I would use them recording or live either one. Thank you so much Yaahn Hunter!
@johntheyank88 I just got the night sky burst on order now. I'm sweating waiting for it. I hope it's all everyone says it is. What heads are you using. The demos iv seen sound great with the stock heads. I think I want coated on the Tom's. Not sure if I should do double or single ply yet. I have an all birch kit and it's awesome with single ply clear, but I want to do something different with this new kit. I do have the studeoease fast tom set with 3 up 2 down...I got the 8" with mine too. Not sure if I'd want a double ply on my 8. I don't play hard at all.. but I want warmth the most with the punch too
Awesome kit and lovely playing, those toms sound epic! Currently in the UK there is a shop selling the 6 piece shell pack for £617! That’s just over $800 which is incredible value, I’m still debating whether to get it!

Guy, I have this kit. I bought it with my Trumpbucks earlier this year. It must be the mics and the mix, because my kit sound nothing like this in my room. The kick is very much the same but your toms are absolutely ALIVE compared to mine. Same heads and everythings. IDK.
Being about thirty times better a player than I am probably helps.

I typically like to tune it to the higher mid range by using my ear honestly. I use tape as well to dampen it slightly!

I have the 7 piece Mapex Armory in Desert Dune from the looks of it not many people have that finish and if they do have that finished it’s not really talked about or seen but yeah I did add the 8 inch Tom as well and I freaking love it but I really love that track you played to and I’m sure you produced it so how can I get it??

There's another Mapex armory kit with 10×8, 12×9, 14×14 and 16×16 tom sizes. The one you reviewed is 10×7, 12×8, 14×12 and 16×14.

Love the snare sound,but not a fan of that size bass drum depth, 22 by 14 is what I go for, hit it and boom..the sound just gets out of the way, punchy. That's what you need.Also real easy to move through doorways and into the car, up or down stairs without damage, win win haha!

The Saturn Series is definitely a higher end series so you're gonna get a fatter sound!
I meant to say tht I have the money for saturn V. Should i consider buying saturn or take the armory and save some cash. Does the armory sound will compete with saturn?
@@TirthankarRoydrummer To be honest you will get a better bang for your buck going for the Armory. Maybe save the rest for mics or something.
I have the same kit but different color and they sound as good as $5000 dollar drums. With the proper tuning and heads you really can't discern the difference. You really don't need to spend a whole lot of money on a kit now a days because the technology has come so far that it's not necessary to spend a fortune on a kit. That's how I feel anyway. 👍
