    Fun fact: The film was made in the Philippines. During production, there was an accident on scene. The film crew came to Clark Air Force Hospital to treat the injured. My father was working there as an OT when he ran into Chuck in the cafeteria. Chuck was hiding there to avoid the press.
    Video suggestion: Has anyone suggested this film yet? It's called Streets of Fire. It's from the same guy who brought the world The Warriors 1979 film. It suffered in the box office and brought the world the weirdest named character: Tom Cody.

    • @alun7006
      @alun7006 Před rokem +2

      I'm not sure Streets of Fire fits the bill. It's big budget, high production, competently shot, KILLER soundtrack. The lead actor is a bit shit, but I'm not sure you could call it bad without calling (for example) Grease bad. It's ott camp fun.

    • @nemurenuyorumoonlight8778
      @nemurenuyorumoonlight8778 Před rokem +1

      @AlunB You have a point. Streets of Fire isn't a bad film. Though, it is regarded as a cult classic. I wanted to bring awareness to it because this film, like The Warriors, inspired the premise of some beat em up game series like Final Fight, Double Dragon, and Streets of Rage as examples.
      There's already been a live action Double Dragon film (Oh hi Mark) for better or for worst. If you look at the setting of Streets of Fire and the campiness that is the script, you can see where the inspiration came from.
      In fact, in the future, a Live Action Streets of Rage film will be premiering on the bring screens. Its script is being worked on, but it doesn't have a director yet. So who knows how it'll turn out.

    I may have already written this when the episode came out, but Erin crying over the "going home" line is very appropriate given the origin of this one. Chuck lost his older brother Wieland in Vietnam and he wanted to make a Vietnam film as a tribute to him. Norris and Lance Hool (who directed the next film) tried to sell the idea to various studios and eventually they brought a script to Cannon, who were working on a similar idea. They ended up using both and made them about the same character, with this one originally intended as the sequel.

    Missing in Action II was great. The critics wouldn't appreciate it, but the drama all builds up to Chuck Norris's best ending fight/revenge. Chuck scares you at the end, and you can tell he is a real tough guy you would NOT want to mess with. There was something kind of real and aggressive about the final fight that I never saw in any other martial arts film. It had me convinced that Chuck could probable actually beat the hell out of people.

That makes her bad-ass in geek pop culture. I bet she does signings at cons and everything. And that other guy was in Blade Runner.

    Good old Cannon Films. The House Chuck Norris Built. Speaking of Cannon Films, I have a suggestion that might interest you. "Rescue Me", a coming of age road movie starring Michael Dudiikoff, Stephen Dorff, Ami Dolenz and Peter Deluise. It is notable for being the last movie Cannon ever released.

    This was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I remember running around the woods behind my house carrying a toy gun pretending to be Chuck Norris from this movie. Funny thing is I hadn’t even seen it yet but knew it has to be the best thing ever. I finally did get to see it but it was heavily edited for tv, I didn’t care, it was awesome. Awesome video as well, thanks for bringing back so many great memories.
