I remember the very first time I saw some inconsiderate imbecile park in a handicap spot... It was raining, and the guy pulls in, parks and runs into the store...About the same time, a car with a handicap plate cruises by but has to park in a regular spot some thirty or so yards away...I watched as the man struggled with a small, collapsible wheelchair, settled into it and rolled himself into the store through the poring down rain... Now, whenever I see an unauthorized vehicle in a handicap spot...well...all I can say is, "Uh, oh, better get Maaco!" I have keys and I'm not afraid to use them!

In part, this issue is because most city agencies do not do their job enforcing the laws protecting the disabled, no priority is assigned to correct or enforce the law. Large fines, towing, these actions can make money to pay for enforcement. If tickets were made payable when people get their car sticker, people would have no choice but to pay or no sticker, and another ticket and fine. It can be a real legitimate moneymaker for a city and protect innocent.
its amazing how many people are so lazy when it comes to parking, yesterday outside of burger king i saw a guy park in the handicap and go in to buy food, he came out a few mins later with his bag and left.
The house next to mine is used as a student rental and one time in the winter somebody Park their car on the sidewalk because they were too lazy to shovel the snow not only blocking the sidewalk but blocking the city sidewalk plow. First I left them a polite note and they did it again so I wrote on a piece of paper in big letters I park anywhere I want and taped it to their back window. That was the last time they did that.

Our renters in the basement sometimes got a ride to work and left their truck parked in the driveway in the back lane. One time someone tried to steal the truck but didn't realize it had a kill switch and left it in the middle of the lane on garbage day! The garbage truck came and there was no way he could back up so he had it towed. They wondered what happened to their truck. Insurance coverd the tow and new ignition.

Seems like anyone with a headache has disabled plates or a placard. then add all the people who don't care and i can never find a place to park. If i try to use a regular spot, then people park right next to my car and then i am stuck untill they come back. Some peoples children smh....

It's relieving to see selfish assholes get the consequences they deserve. I've done towing both with rollbacks, booms, and Class 8's (semi trucks). It's not easy work and the dickheads that park illegally/carelessly/selfishly make it dangerous because they're almost always near by and confront the tow driver. On top of that you do it in the Atlanta area where driving alone is dangerous, period, because of how people there drive (selfishly, illegally, carelessly).
If I was the driver of the first two I would dispute it. The decal is barely visible. I would not be able to notice it at night. Plus, not sure in other states, but in California there also must be a sign in front of the spot at eye level visible to drivers. We all needs to be repainted.

you usually have a certain amount of days that you have to pay the ticket they have records for vehicles that have unpaid parking tickets and since they know where the owner of the car is registered to lives they can tow the car if they have to
Many handicapped people have to go home when they cant get a place to park. Thats after they went through hell to get up & dressed and ready to go. If every country would press huge fines on those who break these laws , put it in a special, interest bearing account, it would eventually be a means of paying for a team that would be at the ready the second somebody is found taking one of these places. The spot is needed immediately! Not when somebody can get around to getting them out of there.

It could also be that the fees were more than the car was worth. It could be any variety of things. It’s probably not a very common vehicle anymore (meaning that there are most likely not too many on the road, from around 1990 or so, even though it’s a common model-a Toyota Corolla), so the junkyard might not be able to sell parts, if there isn’t a market for them.

What a crappy Hanicap parking spot no wheelchair side access and concrete curbs all the way around? Ever try to go over a curb with your wheelchair? It sucks then there's grass no sidewalk. Have to roll behind cars in a wheelchair they can't see you and you can get hit by a car. I wouldn't live there

the problem is Tow fees and the impound fee are not expensive enough to make people understand “Do not park here”

We are not allowed to get rid of the car until the state tells us we can. The process usually takes a period of time..

Missouri has NO (ZERO) Tag Enforcement. NONE! 1000’s of Expired License Plate Tags in Missouri from 2018-2020. Recently saw Expired Tag from 2016. 👎
