- After the tree stump crash over Cannock Chase, still waiting for bits for Wood-E's repair and trying to patient. So, as I do not own a branded scooter, I thought I could have some fun and enjoy doing the odd review of some popular makes of mobility scooters. Along with Jim, I have reviewed the Kymco Midi XLS which was very enjoyable, and this is the larger Kymco Maxi XLS.

Thank you for the time you put into this and for sharing. It would be interesting to see what they have for a person of 6'7" and 28 stone.
I would say it would cope John, regards Joe.
Given your interest in Kymco mobility scooters you might want to try their premier offerings (both versions of the maxi are Kymco's mid-range scooters). A step up here is the Agility or, their flagship, the 'Maxer'. Size is the main different between these two models (the Maxer is a little wider). Both sport significantly higher specifications over the smaller models and, like all Kymco mobility scooters, are built to a very high standard. They still of course do the same thing as any scooter (essentially getting you from A to B) but are just that bit more plush and, typically, have all the bells and whistles missing on cheaper mobility scooters.
Thanks DP, I do certainly like Kymco scooters. But I have to say I you may wish to keep an eye on the FB groups, regards Joe.
Hi, I also drive an electric vehicle. The problem in Germany is that the electric chairs and e-scooters that are financed through the health insurance company are only allowed to go 3.73 miles fast. I have this (I live alone and in a mountain and am not allowed to use public buses with my vehicle, etc.) I bought myself an e-scooter, otherwise I couldn't live alone (I don't have a care level) the vehicle helps me get from A to B, otherwise I couldn't look after myself.
Does it have a tiller lock Joe? It really annoys me to think I paid over £4,000 for my Pride Colt Executive and Pride doesn't give a shit about security. I worry when I go to Tescos, if the scooters still going to be there when I come back to it. I bought a motorcycle clutch lock which fits over the right forward paddle and the handlebars and locks with a push-in tubular lock. I've also got a 2mtr motorcycle security chain and padlock going through those to securing rings on the bottom of the tiller. Its a bit over the top, but its definately a deterent to anybody thinking "That scooter would look nice sitting in my driveway". Nice little run out on different model to what your used to. All the best. Michael.
Sadly your not over the top EBD, its so hard to understand anyone stealing a mobility scooter, but they do. No tiller lock. and I am fully with you there should be one fitted as standard. Regards Joe.
thats exactly the kind of trip i need to do, how did the maxi stack up against the midi joe
More power Andrew, but have a look at the second part with summary, not what you may think! regards Joe.
If you think that hooter is a joke you should hear the one on mine...once you are moving it can't be heard at all-hence buying a proper one from Ebay.
I use a bicycle bell as a polite warning WM, the ding ding is much better and even makes people smile. But that's only the first one, I also have an 'Awooga' horn that will shift cyclist's. Regards Joe.
Problem with using it on pavements is that usually people have have earphones and can't hear you at all, I have to literally prod them. 😏
