- I have to say I do highly rate Kymco scooters, so it was great to be able to borrow a Maxi XLS for a review. While I am waiting for the new motors for Wood-E coming from China I have managed to have the opportunity to test out and review a KYMCO MAXI SLX ....

Hi to those boys, who will no doubt be checking out this video - your famous now lads👍
I used to have a Pride Ranger Mobility Scooter with air filled tyres. Off Road Ruged they said, tyres did not diflate, they came away from the rim twice. Now have a Kymco Maxi XLS with solid tyres, Love it :) I'll never have air filled ever again.
In Road Scooters the Maxer is Kymcos flagship followed by the Agility then the Maxi, both the maxer and the agility have full dash with speedometer etc.
Great video Joe, I know someone who as the same scooter they are comfy... I have the invacare comet pro as the digical screen and very comfy and batteries are good....
you are right about innovation nothing much changed in years however excel who produce the galaxy range are coming out with some keyless models
Yes, I do like this scooter biu. I do need something I can lift into the back of my car. The one I've ordered does go upto 12mph so I'm not mad at that. It is still on a ship from china. The last time I checked, it did stop off in Africa, but it's moving again. Now 😂I love this song Arrangements And the harmonies Mr blue sky 🎵🎶
Knowing what I know now when I do get another mobility scooter, it would have to be the wrangler or the pride colt the suspension look great 👍🏾
Mrs has the Midi-xls which is almost the same as the maxi. Main difference is the midi is a couple of inches narrower. I have the manual from Kymco dated 2012. So yes there is a lack of development and a look online seems to be road legal 8mph scooters all seem to be the same basic form. Innovation seems lacking.
Only 2 on a major website I could see came with Lithium.
As I've said on previous videos I'm in the process of upgrading Mrs one to 2x50ah lithium, a proper 'fuel' gauge (coulombmeter) and balancer.
You sometimes don't finish what you ... Mine goes 40 miles range and has a heated captain's seat and 2 USB ports😊
Hi, great vid.. I have a Maxi xls and agree with you about no speedo, so I purchased a 'COOSPO Bike Computer Wireless GPS BC26, Bluetooth Cycle Computer' price £26.99 - simple but effective. The scooter model up from this is a Kymco Maxer which has got a dashboard and speedo.
Thanks for sharing
BTW, I checked and my Maxi XLS came off the factory floor in 2013, Identical to the one you are previewing. So, given that it is 11 years old, it does seem a bit dated.
now if you could change the battery over to woods spec
2022 Maxi on Mobility Giant £1,345
the kymco agility is the one with the clocks/speedo etc
Forgot the reason went for the agility was could get it the boot of a ford focus with seat down and set ramps
Hi Joe, does it have a tiller lock. I'm now obsessed with Mobility Scooter security because no one else gives a monkey about it. 26,000 scooters were stolen in the UK last year and none of them had a stearing lock (Tiller Lock) I'm guessing. I't wouldn't have occurred to Pride to put another keyway on the opposite side of the tiller to lock it off before leaving it outside Tesco's. That was a better video than some of the videos you've done previously. Slower is better. Michael.
I did not know just how many scooters had been stolen EBD, and you are quite right a simple tiller lock installed when manufactured would help. Regards Joe.
Hi, nice vid. I do agree that mobility scooter manufacturers could do with adding some new tricks to delight us and make things a bit better and easier.
I thought you gave a good appraisal. Good job.
Always thought Kymco scooters were made in China. My quad was made in china and it’s Kymco. Don’t think there’s any Japanese in them.
As far as I know Jason, Honda was apart of the original set-up, regards Joe.
what happened to the midi you had
The Midi is owed by my friend Jim who lives in Sheffield Andrew, and he loves it. Regards Joe.
Have you tried a tramper scooter?
I absolutely adore the very capable TWS Irene, I also made a video of testing the Tramper 4 wheel. Regards Joe.
