A trip to Sheffield proved well worth the journey to meet Jim and get to know the Kymco Midi XLS class 3 mobility scooter. This pocket power house is full of surprises. on the face of it it could appear be a run of the mill class 2 scooter .... but it certainly is not, and as the old saying goes, 'Don't judge a book by the cover' .... well made, well designed, has to be one of the best easy to live with compact class 3's around.

Great video as usual Joe. That looks a really great machine. I have a kymco maxer it handles most terrain, I think they are a good make. I would also say don't hold back on getting a scooter the freedom and independence is fantastic, I can't be stuck indoors it's really not good for me.
There is a guy near me and he had a coustom made scooter made 2kw motor and he flys passed the house all the time so cool

just bought one of these second hand for Mrs. She has a powerchair and needed something a bit bigger for trails very much like the one Jim showed. (We live in Cornwall).
We chose the Kymco as we live on a really steep hill and the physical brake was a priority as well as having the power to go up.
We considered other similar priced scooters (new) and felt, like you do here, this is a great option. So a good video.
We paid a little under £500 for an about 4yo one. I have to work out how to make a mount that will let her lift it into her car, while keeping the powerchair mount. Just changed the hoist to a 125kg one.

PS could I suggest dropping the volume level a little on the music? Your voice level is lower overall so the music is over the top. However, it's your channel so your choice 🙂

@@joeturner4woode no worries mate, video isn't that easy sometimes. Especially longer ones like this. I didn't do so well on the few I've done...😮 Mrs watched this video all through (normally she wouldn't). Said it was good and I should shut up haha.😅
As a youth, I used to walk from tech college into the local TV station where Dad worked as a sound engineer. There were occasions where I ended up on the 2nd sound desk for evening local news. 2nd desk did 'atmosphere' so it was something Dad told me about background, additional, sound. Keep it a bit below vocal level e.g. 3db down. So the transition isn't so strong. But you do it however you want 😲
I have his old matched pair of studio speakers for my hifi (cost half as much as a decent car back then) 😎

I am enjoying catching up on your videos. I thought that when you have the scooter switched to the low gear it doesn’t go faster than 4mph so when I’m on the pavement I always keep it on low even if the pavement is clear
Hello Joe, I've just become a member of the electric mobility gang because I've been putting it off for some time, and I've been struggling to keep up with hospital appointment so I've pulled the trigger and got myself one it hasn't arrived yet but I'm looking forward to a better life style now I an from Sheffield so I think I'm taking a trip to Forge dam as well I'm Currently looking for places to go for a day out and meet some New folks

I did try a chest trap EBD but much prefer a head stap as the viewer will see what you see, regards Joe

this is Andrew spoke to you before, i initially bought a vita e from tga but that didn't work out so after watching your glowing video again i decided to buy the next size up Kymco Maxi, ill let you know how it goes. btw how many miles did jim get out of the midi on a full charge?

I debated purchasing the midi xls, but decided to purchase the Kymco Agility purely because it has a slightly bigger motor (600w). Really happy with my Kymco scooter. By the way, I'm interested to know where Jim got the walking stick holder from, do you know?

What total distance did you get out of the Kymco?
Because of an error on my part we did cover the trail a second time Andrew, and must have covered about 11 or 12 miles, Was not a problem, regards Joe.
