The fill and drain holes are a very important modification for this application. It will add longevity to the rear end, and gives you a rapid way to check for damage. You may want to tack in a small neodymium magnet to your lower plug, to collect any metal fragments or shavings for inspection, and to keep them from creating anymore mayhem.
Very valid point. I actually just put a video out where I broke the pinion on the 9"😅 I'm actually going to go to an 8.8 over the winter, I originally did the 9" because of simplicity but in factory form the 8.8 can handle much more without issues. But I definitely appreciate you watching all the videos, it means more than you'll ever know!
@@dugganracecraft I'm interested to learn more about the frame modification; the photos in the video don't show where the new rails connect to the body and the existing rails. Thank you!
The compromise that I’ve come to mentally is doing the videos how I’ve been doing them but only doing them once a month instead of trying to do them twice a month.
Noooooo don't shorten them, the analytics are wrong. I watch every square inch of these videos and even read the description and like and all that stuff that helps. Short videos seems rushed to me and not much of a story. Its like hey how's it going Today im going to put this motor and transmission in and you're going to get to see it... well there it is im done with it look at the picture and I will see you on the next episode where i show you evidence that the car has been driven by me 🤣😂🤣😂 but for real i do enjoy the longer ones but I get it you gotta get views to earn money and making long videos for one guy isn't going to get views or more subscribers but with all of the competition that is out there yours is one of my favs
Maybe shorter wasn’t the best way to put it lol basically, I’m just not going to go super in depth with some things. I’m in kind of a weird spot where it’s not in depth enough for for someone with high skill level but over the head of a novice. But I appreciate you watching the videos and interacting as much as you do, it definitely helps to know that someone appreciates them!
Factory housings take 2.5 quarts, so you could either measure out half a quart or leave the factory fill plug out while filling it from the top and fill it until it dribbles out!

i'm really enjoying this build series. You have done so many of the things i want to do with my 74 ghia. Keep up the great work!
Glad you enjoy it!
I absolutely appreciate (and need) the details. I've learned a lot.
Thanks, Sean! If you have any other questions please feel free to reach out!

That's the thing, it didn't connect to the factory frame, the complete factory frame is gone and I started from scratch!
@@dugganracecraft Thank you, I think I understand better now!
I like the longer detail videos myself.........

I would like longer videos as well! 20-35 minutes!
Nice!!
Thanks Frank!

How do you check your level with the top fill?

what did u use to cut the tube, chop saw ?
Nope! Just used some 2" painters tape to give me a straight line and a 4.5" cut off wheel!
