In King County, we got hit by storm after storm during the late afternoon and into the evening, then it stopped. It started up again pretty late at night and I slept through it. Either way, the storms were INSANE!! It's so crazy that out of all places it could of happened, it happened in Washington State. It was probably way worse up in Olympia. My friend texted me a picture a pretty big storm up there and it looked like something I would of saw on the news in Oklahoma or Kansas. Pretty impressive.
Commenting 5/11/17 at 630am EDT.....Awesome thunder, lightning, even a CG-noted...and the downpours..for a place where you live...that averages only 5 to 10 annual Tstorm-days...excellent to have videotaped this big Tstorm while inside the awning of this porch thus keeping the rainwater away from your high-tech camcorder.....Where I live....in southern RI..in Washington County..I average about 20 Tstorm days per year....I used to live in Port Washington LINY..and even there..I audiotaped a lot of duzies..still have the tapes today..from decades later.
This was a microburst. High winds, lots of rain, hail, thunder, and lightning. Often confused with damage caused by a tornado because of the damage a microburst can cause; tree damage, urban & street flooding, minor structural damage from wind. But in this case, there wasn’t a tornado.
