- DISASTER AVOIDED!!! This video is a follow-up to the one I posted earlier where I announced the huge mistake I made when installing the EZ-Troll recessed tray in my jon boat. I did all the right steps but chose the wrong location for the tray and didn't realize the mistake until after I cut a huge hole into the deck on my jon boat. In the end the install worked out for the better.

Great video. I have a Alumicraft MV1648 and I want to add a foot tray and 2 batteries in the bow for my 24v trolling motor, and your video has given me great insight on the internal contruction below the deck. Your a brave man to cut the deck like that. You've given me confidence of what ever mistakes I make there is always a repair plan, if you take a breath, think, then attack. Can't wait to see more. I'm sure Ill be borrowning many of your ideas in the future

If you're right handed the tray should be placed on the right side of the centerline (if you're left handed....). Otherwise you have to stand on the left side to use the pedal, thereby off balancing the boat.

Wondering if you looked at the Panther trolling motor tray? I had to go with the Panther because it was such good quality (although I didn't look at the EZ Troll) and it's 75% less than the EZ Troll ($79 vs. $139).
