The reason I’m interested in the prop nut is with side imaging on my trolling motor that means it must be deployed. Just makes good sense that the cone would divert water pressure away from motor head and seals around shaft if I was motoring slow with motor on back. Side imaging is supposed to work best tween 2-5mph so the water pressure wouldn’t be that much but hey don’t want to get water in the motor which is very common in freeze thaw climates.

I bought a Fortrex 80, it did not come with the stabilizer bar, but it was listed on the parts inventory in the installation manual. I called Minn Kota and told them it was not in the box and they sent me one at no charge. So if yours doesn't come with one, check the manual to see if it should be included before buying one

❤ the Video man! I am going to subscribe to your channel as everything you showcased makes perfect sense! 👍 How is the vibration from the trolling motor mounted to the aluminum deck? Without a dampening barrier it seems the vibrations would resonate through the entire hull of the boat like a big loudspeaker announcing your presence to the Bass! Is there a product that you can put under your trolling motor that can minimize the vibrations?

Prop nuts tested louder for underwater noise levels, also eat up battery power faster.
Edit for sound test with hydrophone data: czcams.com/video/i0CDIKs1qk8/video.html
Prop nuts are louder, prop speed is what makes the difference.

I added a Hydrowave to mine. Have had it out twice with it on. All I can say is I'll never run a boat without one again. The amount of baitfish that congregate by my trolling motor is ridiculous. Secondly, there have been MULTIPLE times already that I have seen legit wakes coming towards my boat from 50-60 yards away to try to find that sound. I've seen both positive and negative reviews on it but I took a chance. The biggest thing imo is not running it too loud. Most all of the pros who I was able to find talking about it run it run it between 1-3 on the volume.
Fwiw I got it to mask my trolling motor sounds more then anything, I didn't get it to call fish in. I was surprised at what I have seen so far on the water with it only twice so far.

@@TackleJunky81 Thanks brother. I went ahead and picked up the cool foot. I have been alternating between shoes on and shoes off when I'm out on the water for 8-10 hours. I was weary of those things holding up for a long period of time. If it held up well enough for you on your old boat, that's good enough for me.
Re Hydrowave: Like I said man, I won't run one without it again. Do I think it will help me catch more fish? It's hard to say. Have I seen it turn fish on? Who knows they may have already been on and the sounds made them move in the direction of my boat. Do I think it hurts? Absolutely 100% no. So for me, if it helps me catch 1-2 more fish a day or even a week, it's worth it especially as I get into tournament fishing next year. So no it doesn't have fish jumping in my boat left and right, but in 2, 9 hour trips I have already seen enough to be convinced on something I was very skeptical of.

Perhaps some Loctite; locking washers; and/or Nyloc nuts...I’ve had boats for 20+ years and have seen my share of things breaking, things needing replacement, etc, but haven’t had anything come loose from road vibrations yet.

This is a marketing ploy. Does not work as either a sound dampener or heat sink. Worse of all, if you break the shear pin, which is a safety device, you cannot remove the prop because access to the shaft end screwdriver slot is blocked. You will need to saw off the conical end to access the motor shaft. I would not recommend buying. Stay with the Minn Kota washer and nylock nut !!
