    ☆ ABOUT ME ☆
I am a former tech worker who lived in NYC for 30 years. When I reached 50, I set out my own and created a business selling on Amazon using their FBA program. Great fun, but neither career left much time for healthy living.
I turned 60 last year (2023). I found myself 110 pounds overweight and seriously out-of-shape, pre-diabetic, with sky-high cholesterol, and unable to walk for more than 20 minutes without resting.
I decided to make some major changes. I shut down my Amazon business and started living frugally. Health is more important than money, especially as we grow older. In August 2023 I started the carnivore diet and lost 65 pounds in 3 months.
Now I’m hooked! I can walk for miles without a rest now. My cholesterol is within normal levels as is my blood pressure. I am no longer pre-diabetic, and I feel 30 years younger!
After experiencing the benefits, I’ve become passionate about sharing my story to help others.

All great tips for maintaining carnivore on the road. I've never thought about bringing the NuWave 🤔 but that's a great idea! Another tip is staying at a Candlewood Suites hotel if there is one in your destination city. Usually their rates are pretty reasonable. I've used them for weekend getaways and when I'm working away from home. You get a fully equipped kitchen with a two burner flat surface stove, full size fridge, dishwasher, pots, pans, plates, flatware, etc. provided. I also travel with my dual fuel propane/butane one burner camp stove and a "kitchen box". For cleanup I have a spray bottle with vinegar and water (50/50 solution) and paper towels. Vinegar cuts grease and disinfects, no dish soap required. Also recommend a small 12v fridge so you can grocery shop before you leave home or bring food from your freezer, if you have a power station like the Bluetti, Jackery or EcoFlow (to name a few). Nothing beats cooking and eating in the fresh air and sunshine 😊.

I have a 12 volt fridge, but messed up the video I wanted to take of it. It’s really a game changer! The vinegar solution is a great idea - I have to pick up a spray bottle next time I’m at the store.

@@Jaylwoodworth Yeah, love my "car fridge". Can't wait to see you make a video about yours. It's nice to know I'm not the only crazy carnivore that cooks on road trips 😂. Most people think I'm nuts, but I eat better (and cheaper) than anyone I know on my trips.

Glad to find your channel! Yes traveling is all about prep and I love my small Air Fryer. As long as you are not putting anything that sets the smoke detector off it works great in hotels or inside areas. Thanks for sharing!

The induction burner can set off the fire alarm too. I’m very careful about that.

Such valuable information. I’m an electrician on the road six days a week. Trying to stay out of Golden corral restaurants. This will do it. It cost me $20 at Golden corral including a tip. But there’s too many temptations with dessert.

Get the camp stove or the induction cooker. You’ll save a fortune and eat a whole lot healthier

If you eat out less than 30% of the time I think you're fine to count it as a "cheat day"... I just had some really good pizza for mother's day! Worth it! I think you might not have gut issues if you keep some foods in rorations.
Your voice is so relaxing to listen to. Thank you for sharing.

You’re in such a gorgeous area. Jealous ! In Australia we call that cut of meat a T bone. Our porterhouse is only the big section as a fillet. Great tips thanks.

I always carry my butane stove as a backup incl case the Bluetti battery runs out. But the induction heater sure is convenient!

Jay, thanks for your video today, this is a great one as I think many people would not have thought of your clever ideas. I would recommend the Redman's Real salt in the small shakers as it is also a pink salt full of minerals from an ancient seabed in the U.S. When I discovered Redman's I used it for a few years and then could not find it again, so I ordered direct from Redman's a 25 pound bag... later I ordered on Amazon the 10 pound pails of the Redman's Real salt. I think it is close to the same as the pink Himalayan. A small air-fryer would also work with your portable battery. I just had my lunch of chicken wings done in my air-fryer.

Great info, Jay. 👍 I rarely eat at restaurants for two main reasons. One, I'm cheap and hate to spend $30+ on something I can make myself for $10 or less. The second reason is one you mentioned but others almost never do. It's such a waste of time. I can cook, eat and clean up in less time than it takes for the server to bring your salad. I've got better things to do with my time and money than spend it all in a restaurant.

So true - and it is nice to have the option to cook while on the road. Having that induction cooker makes all the difference when in a hotel. I can eat my bacon and eggs, even when the hotel’s breakfast is all carbohydrates. Cook a quick streak and relax in the evening instead of dealing with an involved dinner somewhere!

Jay I asked on the other video but why didn’t you buy the Rotisserie Chicken at Costco?
Is there something up with them?

    • @Jaylwoodworth
      @Jaylwoodworth  Před 2 měsíci +2

A lot of viewers mentioned all the addictive and preservatives that they add to the chickens to extend shelf life. Costco’s are better than a lot of the others, but there are definitely some additives in there that you don’t want to eat very often.
