About the sumo clip: Yes, you're allowed to do that. It's called a "henka". However, Henry's actually right that it's generally frowned upon, if for no other reason than the fact that people have a pretty clear idea of what sumo is supposed to look like, and henka works a little too well against that type of sumo.
I think it adds another layer of strategy though. But that is just my opinion.

Looking back now I could probably reason that her mother didn't want her to be sexually promiscuous at such a hormonal period in her life and any sexual desires she had be satisfied by her owns means however, the thing I can't really understand is... why would you tell anyone at school? she was a huge recluse with maybe 1 or 2 friends in the entire year of over 300, she hated the majority of anyone else. I mean automatic or manual, either way I still don´t get what the dude was thinking. From the tail lights you can clearly see he was holding the break pedal even as his other foot was already out of the car. That´s just not something you would by accident. It´s like he wanted to test what would happen if he did not use the parking break.

Not only failed to set parking break, left it in neutral. I used to inspect cars as part of my job. One time this guy left his car in neutral and didn’t use the hand brake. As soon as I touched the door handle, it started rolling away from me. It rolled back about 20 feet until it hit a curb. It had been parked for a couple hours at that point. I’m amazed it didn’t roll away earlier.
@@ambsquared you should always use your parking brake with a stick. Don’t trust leaving it in first to prevent it from rolling backwards. It will still roll forward if it is pushed
If you know I turn car engines with a ratched because the air leaks past the compression rings. Do you still trust to it to hold your car in one place. Sure there is enough friction in 1st or reverse gear to hold it on flat ground but it will absolutely not stay on a hill. And the park function of a automatic isn't designed to hold a car on a hill. So use the parking brake.

Hey Henry. Some vehicles have manual transmissions. There is no "Park" to put the transmission into. Smart people set the parking brake AND leave it in a gear opposite to the direction of roll.
Was looking for this. Their reaction made me sad, i miss the old G10 with a three speed and a newer 292 scrounged out of a utility truck. That thing was too much fun to drive.
Parking break cable was broken, though, so I carried a couple wedges cut out of landscape retaining wall timbers with a heavy handle bolted on each, used them as chocks. In 1st gear, the transmission and compression would hold on most slopes I might park on, but I wouldn't trust it longer than it took to chock it
Manual transmission cars have neutral. But neutral is just good in case you have to stay still in a place where you cannot turn off your engine, not good to keep the car still even with the slightest slope.

For those that also don't know, the "park" position on your shifter moves a relatively small pin to restrict the transmission's output shaft. It is effective against a relatively small force, but can wear down to the point of breaking or slipping over many uses especially if used on hills or under other strain. The parking break essentially manually engages your brake pads and is very reliable as long as you have brake pads and tires.
Forgetting the parking brake with a manual transmission usually means its either in "drive" (most people plop it in 1st for that) or in neutral. Either would have no real issues rolling forward like that.
Yeah, sumo doesn't have weight categories so if you are smaller like that guy you need to use your opponents momentum against them.

@@zankthegreat4291 E-brakes and hand-brakes are the same thing located in different places. I've got a Chevy 3/4 ton and a Chevy 1 ton, both with e-brakes under the dash, and a Volkswagon Jetta with a hand-brake. All three vehicles have automatic transmissions.
To answer your question, Henry, most modern vehicles have an auto-brake that gives you about five to ten seconds of time after you let off the foot brake. It's a safety feature so you don't roll backward between letting off the brake and putting on the gas when stopped on a hill.
Or you maybe have a manual car and then you dont have auto-break
@@lovrodrozek9942 while not all modern cars have an auto brake, manual cars are the worst about rolling back due to the fact that the driver has to have the clutch in while braking to a stop. Some people are good at shifting into gear quickly, but not all. If you know someone is driving manual, try to stay back a few feet if they have to stop on a hill.
You kids and your safety features. Do you know how to brake without ABS? Do you know how to retain traction on an icy road without traction-control? Do you know to check your blind spots without that blind-spot radar? Can you reverse without a backup camera? Do you know how to park without auto-brake? These features are meant to make vehicles safer to drive, but I think they just make you lazy drivers.

As many insecurities I may have about my children taking the worst traits from me, my biggest fear about being a parent will always remain having a kid be influenced by forceful media into something they wouldn't understand.
I'm all up for people loving what their love or who they love, but you can't just teach a little boy crossdressing and dancing like a woman is the right thing to do, the point is to have children make their choice, not to force them to do what you like.
So be neutral but encouraging. Show them all the things and they will naturally pick what they like. Just remember that kids can feel when your being dishonest. Thats how so many learn vegetables are bad, because the parents treat them different. Avoid that and things should be fine.
I grew into healthy habits by myself, the trick instead of forcing kids to try the healthy things you don't like is not trying to forcing them, but to get them from the curiosity, that's a trick I got from my grandma.
