    Loving your videos, will come in handy one day for sure. Ours is 17 years old but kept under a car cover in the garage. Has done only 68k km.

    Thankyou!! Managed to fix my roof and reset to normal position with the help from this video. The only extra thing I needed to do was manually reset the sun roof part with the Alan key on the sunroof motor in the cockpit. Save me £500! Only took me 2.5hrs.

    PLEASE HELP! I have a 2011 VW EOS and tried putting the top down. All windows are down then the operation stopped, giving me a convertible top service error. The sunroof works fine. The dealership diagnosed it as a corroded hydrolidcs pump in the trunk but couldnt guarantee that would fix my windows being stuck down at a whopping charge of $5,000. I am now driving a car with all four windows down. ANy tips on gettign the windows up manually? I am ok with teh top never being down agan.

      Sorry to hear about your trouble! When you tried to open the top, the sunroof went back, of course. Did you see or hear anything else moving? Does the rear glass seem to be firmly in place?
      What I'm driving at is, the pump may have started to unlatch part of the top and is now unable to relatch it becasue it is badly corroded. If not all sensors indicate that the roof is fully latched, then the top needs to be latched manually because the windows won't move before the computer knows that the roof is secure. Manually latching the top is not terribly complicated if you know how to do it. We are showing every single step in our video on manually closing the top. If, as suspected, the pump has partially unlocked your top in the very early stages, then you may be able to manually latch it and restore windows function by picking up here in our video: czcams.com/video/G31I3ZUxIBQ/video.html
      Alternatively, you could replace the pump and this will likely take care of the problem. The pump itself from Top Hydraulics is a small fraction of what the dealer has quoted you (see www.tophydraulics.com/volkswagen/835-vw-eos-hydraulic-pump.html) and you can replace it yourself if you put your mind to it. Here is the video on pump replacement: czcams.com/video/0NQUE1Ic388/video.html

    I have an 07 EOS that stopped mid way down. I’m STUCK. can someone reach out to me? Is there a number I can call?

    • @TopHydraulics
      @TopHydraulics  Před 4 dny

      There is always a way out if you are up to understanding how the system works and putting the effort into getting access to the components that need to be manipulated. If your top is not down in the trunk yet, then it will be fairly easy to climb in the trunk and open the pressure relief valve on the pump, so that you can move the rest of the components manually. Hello, do you have any idea how to change the strings to the sunroof?
    the electro-motor itself is still working, I already ordered the metal strings/cable to open/close the sunroof, but can't find any instruction online how to replace the cable without damaging the hardtop. I don't know how and where to start.
    Would be greatful for any help

      Thanks for asking. I'm afraid I cannot be of help on this one - you may want to check with those parties who have made DIY videos on opening and closing the sunroof, or check on an EOS forum.

    Guys I need help!! At 45:42 klaus says the only way to access this hydraulic cylinder is to have the rear glass up, however I’m in the process of replacing all cylinders as the hydraulic pump valves in the boot were ripped out when I got the car from auction! Is there any way that I can still open the rear glass mechanism or am I doomed if anyone sees this and has experienced something similar it would be a big help please thank you!! 🙏

      He has another video about doing it manually. Does the eos still have the cylinders?

    • @JustinLT212
      @JustinLT212 Před 11 měsíci

      @@MVPHitter1 yes it still has the cylinders so they need to be replaced, but I cannot move the roof of the vehicle to get access to change the hydraulic cylinders

    Do you have to bleed the hydraulic cylinder after replacement? how can you do that in that case. Show me please!!!

    • @TopHydraulics
      @TopHydraulics  Před 3 lety +2

      The system is self bleeding as long as there is enough fluid in the pump.

      The BMW M4's top is almost identical to that of the BMW E93 3-Series. We have videos for manual operation of the BMW top here: czcams.com/play/PLly4CMbpk7oya3ulU64hKs2Fto21E1Mvn.html
