    Klaus you are a true pro explaining everything there is to know about opening-closing the EOS hardtop which was driving us nuts on how to do it. Thank you sir.

    I was cleaning my sunroof seals I forgot to prop up the top and it closed partially I am currently working on putting the top down, waiting for a second person which is needed to raise the rear glass piece. Videos very informative I thank you for it and I will report on whether or not success has been achieved. Also I will advise if this re-syncs the system for further normal use.

    My 2008 EOS rear window frame won't lift out to open. I hear the pumps or whatever whining but this is where everything stops. Halp! Will using this video to manually lift the window frame help me at all to diagnose the issue?

    Thank you. Mine is partially opened, so I’m unable to access the areas like you have here. Looks like it has to be completely shut to do this, while at the same time, in order to manually close it, the procedures you demonstrate has to first be carried out. My dilemma is that the top is partially up. Do you think I’ll be able to achieve what you have with the top being partially opened? Thanks

    When it is very hot, the top does not fully open. Is it possible that the fault is due to the oil?

  • @_originalbunny_3925
    @_originalbunny_3925 Před 24 dny

    So why is it that when I tried to manually open the top to my 2008 Lux, the glass sunroof (although fully open) does not clear the headrests of my back seats? It’s inches away from clearing it to go into the trunk… not sure if this helps because I’m not even 100% sure about it, but I THINK that it APPEARS that part of the top mechanism is almost running into the inside of my rear taillight preventing it from going all of the way down, but I may be wrong also… but does anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

    Thank you for this. My question is if one of the arms isn’t retracting correctly is that because the cylinder on that side isn’t working or stuck? Everything else works properly

    • @TopHydraulics
      @TopHydraulics  Před 4 měsíci +1

      If I'm reading correctly between the lines, then you have one arm in the top moving and the matching one on the other side is getting stuck. The matching cylinders on the left side and right side get the pressure from the same valve in the pump, so you can rule out the pump in case of uneven movement. Internal failures in the cylinders are rare, which makes it more likely that you have a mechanical problem in the top's mechanism if I understood the description of the problem properly.

      @@TopHydraulics ok thanks. Yes the passenger side doesnt line up correctly to go down into the side of the car but the drivers side does. I don’t hear any noise and nothing looks bent.

      You need to find the wire in the back seats (red lever) if not there are 2 latches in the far side of the boot which are very hard to reach so you have to fish for it or Get a child to go thru the back and unhook the 2 latches and then it should open. There’s some videos showing where exactly these latches are. GL

  • @Icem4n84
    @Icem4n84 Před 3 měsíci

    I don't know why these things can not have a crank to do the whole thing manually with 1 socket mechanically.

    • @TopHydraulics
      @TopHydraulics  Před 3 měsíci

      That would be a nice feature to have. However, the way to make this large hardtop fold was to have an intricate system of small cylinders that work in sequence. A single crank would require the top to fold differently, which would end up requiring a much larger trunk and make the car a lot bigger and heavier, like a Ford Falcon.
