I want to discourage you from ordering anything off the dark web, but it's especially irresponsible to order live fish unless you're prepared to care for the animal. We had two cycled quarantine tanks of freshwater and saltwater environments prepared. There was A TON of behind the scenes preparation that went into creating this video. There was also a lot of footage that got cut out, to make this a quicker and more entertaining piece of content. Piranhas ARE NOT the human eating villains many movies make them out to be. They are aggressive fish, but the scenes in which we are putting them in the tank are dramatized for your entertainment. I am well educated on fish-keeping and well connected in the area to people who assisted me with this project. I hope you enjoyed the video :) Remember to keep those nitrates low 😉

As a former fish room manager, I can safely tell you that piranha are not that dangerous. They're actually a skittish fish that will flee if you stick your hand in the tank. Piranha owners often keep schools of tetras in their piranha tanks because they won't waste their energy chasing something that small. In the wild, their normal prey is dead or sick fish.

@@12buddon36 pacu's are basically vegetarian cousins of piranahs. There are 'red belly' versions of both. But these do actually look like red-bellied piranha's due to the shape of the head (curved over the eyes, where pacu are flatter0, but then these are immature so it's hard to be 100%.

I’ve had a one eyed red belly piranha before. It was a beautiful massive female name Asagi. She was almost 10 inches long and the sweetest fish I ever owned. She used to swim to the top of the tank and splash around until I rubbed her head for a few minutes a day. There was even a crayfish who lived with her for years and the two became friends. Piranhas just have a bad name from the Amazon tbh.

They typically never bite unless it’s dead or dying or blood is around and even at that they still may not bite. Loved having em some very neat species to look after

If you put your finger up to the glass they would act like they were attacking it. My mom got them in the divorce and immediately gave them to a group that dealt with animals and fish like this. Buddy of mine had piranhas, his tank had a dark blue tint like the water, it's because piranhas usually live in very low light environments, and a regular aquarium can be bad for them. Idk, I'm not the piranha guy, worth looking into tho
