That's why it's only fair that you can bring small water creatures on the plane with you too. Also the fact that there is a living animal inside the water is an indicator that there is no other substance in the water (one of the reasons why unknown fluids are forbidden on planes). And bigger animals (dogs or other animals) have to travel in the cargo hold of the plane if the airline offers pressurized cargo chambers.

      It’s called enrichment my dude.
I’d rather be at home in quarantine playing Minecraft over being outside punching real trees with my bare hands and risking my life all day, and I’m sure that octopus would rather exhibit natural behaviors in a safe place over exhibiting them in the wild where they’ll probably be eaten.
Octopuses are fine in captivity, so long as their owner does enough research and provides them with enrichment, clean water, and plenty of stimulation.
The arm eating thing is in octopuses who get no enrichment, not in octopuses that have toys, places to explore, and new experiences on the regular. So long as the animal receives enough enrichment they won’t be unhappy.

@@johnathanwenig2677 its a smaller speciies of octopus. And unlike fish, they dont need room to swim and turn while swimming, octopuses tend to spend most of their time hiding while also playing to keep themselves from being bored. Which is why he feeds it live food so that it doesn't get bored. Some animals only require certain amounts of space due to their behavior and personalities along with the requirements for their temporary habitats. The rocks and other decor are great for the octopus to stimulate camoflauge and hunting. They hide in plain sight until they spot their prey or until they feel safe. One way to keep them happy and not bored is to give them puzzles to solve like a clam in a closed container, they spend about ten to fifteen minutes trying to open it to get the clam, they're quite inquisitive creatures. Though I do Agree Octopuses should be left with their wild habitats and with larger aquariums for learning and scientific research where they are cared for with plenty more space and stimulation.

7:16 I would not doubt that, the octopus that use to live here at underwater world in QLD, use to climb from its tank during the night, sneak across the exibit room floor to the lobster tank, climb in and proceed to chow down buffet style.

I am in just complete shock and awe I absolutely love hearing your story about Houdini on the plane. Just watching how excited and enthusiastic you were when telling it makes.it really, really cool to be able to experience in person. Apparantly i knew basically nothing about these creatures cuz Ive learned so much about octopuses.... from you. They are so neat and i love how they try to escape when they're bored or to eat your other fish. That is so funny. And people, as long as you're taking care of your animal/pet and they are happy and healthy then why not keep any animal in captivity. Anything from tigers to octopuses is awesome to me. Thank you for all that you do and thanks for educating me on this. I hope you get to read this as in this is an old video...... but i am definitely looking forward to watching alot more..... thank you.....

Awesome; love octopuses, caught my own whilst in Oman in the 80s. Having had a VAST sea water tank ,which we stocked from our own dives;we still don't know exactly how she got in - I did know about seeing them, while working during school holidays with a Marine Biologist - but, think it was in some rocks with various sea anemones on them, having gone thru the 3 day quarantine tank! The main tank which we'd inherited, was 3m wide x 3m deep and 5m high,it had a good proportion of white sand ,also collected from the ocean;an amazing "present",filled with live coral and a good variety of local sealife . All kinda trial and error, this was before the Internet! After a week we started to notice first the crabs, were "missing and then various others went,we had a pair of lion fish, they were fine! The mystery might have decimated the tank if I'd not decided to set up an early video camera and tape the whole day&night; changing video as we went along . Playing them back we were astounded to see our beautiful Octopus cyanea.not very big, but, obviously hungry - which my oceanographic friend identified for me,he said ,we'd even seen one on a dive together, but, it looked COMPLETELY different. As you probably know they can change massively, depending on many factors. We put her into a separate tank ,slightly smaller,to enjoy her for a week and with the help of the specialist, we released her back into the wild,in an area,he'd seen a others and wished her well. I now live in central London, but,do enjoy visiting the London Aquarium. Really enjoy your videos, kudosđŸ’„đŸ‘Šâ€đŸ‘đŸ‘đŸ‘đŸ‘‹đŸŒŸâœŒ

John Freitas actually it’s not really an issue with phones anymore GSM/2G phones were the things causing issues with the navigation systems actually a lot of planes are making it so there is WiFi on planes *6.50 a person* so you can text/use your phone the issues don’t really ever occur with newer phones and newer planes it was a bigger issue with 800-900mhz phones and older planes which doesn’t really occur anymore

Odd question, not hunting for drama, I'm genuinely curious: what was the seal on the two containers you started with (air-tight vs no) and did you see any effect of the change in pressure having it on the "ground", and when you had to do the container swap while in the air?
