  • Learning a new language is exciting and sometimes you might want to share this experience with others. How do we tell how long we have been learning Cantonese in Cantonese? You’ll find out in this video. Plus, you will be more familiar with words that can be used for the duration of time.
Four phrases demonstrated in Cantonese, which include:
    1. How long have you been learning Cantonese?
    2. I’ve just started learning Cantonese.
    3. I’ve been learning Cantonese for …
    4. I spend … to learn Cantonese every week.
(P.S. When you check the dictionary,「話」is in its sixth tone: "waa6" like 「說話」"syut3 waa6" . But when you say「話」as in the vocabulary "Cantonese", it actually sounds more like in the second tone which is: "gwong2 dung1 waa2".)

@@woodtran6199 唔使客氣 (m4 sai2 haak3 hei3). I can tell that you have a strong foundation of Cantonese as you are good at using jyutping. I'll strongly encourage you to use Chinese characters (or start from reading Chinese characters) if you have not started yet. One of the reasons is that by learning Chinese characters, it will consolidate your learning and it will help you learn Chinese more effectively. All the best with your Cantonese learning.
